Excellent that’s what I was taught when I was having it happen a while back that’s the way that they showed us how to do it. I like the step over whatever I have not really worked on that but that mule kick is great
Thx for adding safety info. I actually wish there was more safety info with each move. I feel like knowing this helps you keep your partners safe but if you were in a self defense situation you would be better equipped to deal damage.
Matt’s point is to perform the counter with the appropriate grip, not when the guy in bottom has you whipped up with double under hooks When you have the grip Matt has there is no counter for the guy on the bottom
Sitting back (and straight up) also applies tremendous pressure to the person holding the lockdown. They will usually open up right away. Be careful if doing that too.
@michaia1970 if you are stuck in lockdown, For example, if it's your right leg/ankle locked down Bring your left heel under their crossed feet & swipe their feet apart. Use your heel to pull from the right to your left. It's a very effective counter.
As a lockdown user, I use a simple rule to avoid injury or painful reversal: ABANDON the lock down the second you lose underhooks, especially on the lockdown side. There are probably no technically sound sweeps once you lose the underhooks and you are at the mercy of the passer.
Dammit, gave me a mini heart attack. I thought we're dealing with another wave of the pandemic
Bruhhhhhh
Can you make a video on how to esape the leg triangle that khabib uses on people after a double leg? 🙏🏻 much appreciated
Ufff he aprendido algo muy útil hoy. thank you! I love your videos
Great info thank you!!!

The chances of you getting trapped in a lockdown in a self defense situation has to be incredibly low
Guy on bottom can stop that pass as long as he keeps double underhooks or body lock. Love your videos!

@@eddienash5986 I agree and my point is there is a huge battle for underhooks that takes place before that technique can work.
first comment on matt arroyo video! a dream coming true!
I love how he has YOU in a lockdown and you're worried about HIS knee.

I've learned to use my free leg & just bring my free heel under the lockdown. Just swipe it open.
How , please explain because I always get caught up in this
