Alphaz been waiting for this drop since their pre-debut of Tape 1&2 and Vox 1-4. As usual most comments are suggesting their raps, but that is only a fraction of their talents because they are just as hard with their Vox and even harder on their Moves so you don't get them twisted.
I suggest don't assume they are a rap group based on Woke Up. This is just their all rap song. They really shine with R&B, Pop as they are influenced by a lot of 90s R&B groups. Like TLC, Destiny Child, Spice Girls, etc. They are doing a lot of cool remixes on their current world tour. They are Japanese, based and trained in Korea for 5 yrs before they debut in 2022. Ages 18-22 The rap line (Jurin, Maya, Harvey, Cocona) and Vocal Line(Chisa,Hinata,Juria) They all have vocals and dance. Woke Up had the Vocal line more "rapping". The latest song Something Ain't Right has the Rap line singing in a UK Garage sound. Tapes Series - highlight the Rap line VOX Series - highlights the Vocal line Move Series - highlights their dancing. If you want to deep dive into their beginnings watch the Extra Documentary. They have something for everyone. And they do this without being overly sexy or vulgar. Just wanted to share one of the many fascinating facts about XG: Maya (at 4:40) is the only member fluent in English, while the rest are still learning. I find this really impressive because I appreciate their effort to perfect their pronunciation. It's common to hear English words randomly thrown into songs without much care for pronunciation these days (at least in kpop though i know xg isn't kpop), but XG really puts in the work. Also, since you mentioned their dancing, I HIGHLY recommend checking out their dance practice (fixed version) of "Left Right" and "Shooting Star." It's probably one of the most satisfying dance practices you'll ever see from a girl group!
XG has no sensuality dancing, lyrics or wear bikinis to gain attention, but use their Natural Given Talents to grab our attention and it's, so dam refreshing and I'm, so glad my daughter idolize XG..🐺

XG's concept put as concisely as possible are aliens capable of anything. Musically able to pull off any genre, not just with their vocals, but rap that transcends anything in Asian Pop, and the dance stamina and technique of K Pop back up dancers.

XG does have a decent size fan base but definitely still on the rise. Still relatively unknown, especially in the US. Woke is not even their best song imo. It's definitely received the most recognition and help them blow up recently but really everything in their discography is amazing. Can't go wrong with anything from them. Generational talented group. They have a new mini album coming out in November so be on the look out.

Simon, the creator/CEO/mentor/producer/etc of XG is a Japanese/Korean born in the US but he's also a former Kpop idol. All XG members are Japanese but most of their content is created in Korea for the Korean market. In short, nobody is sure what category XG really falls in, and they seem comfortable with that.

The Xypher and tapes are good if you want more rap, but there's a whole bunch of directions you can go down this rabbit hole with XG. Left Right and Winter Without You are great starts if you want some 2k R&B vibes, Hesonoo/X-Gene performance vid is great if you want to see their artistry and dance skills, Shooting Star and New Dance are good if you want to see what poppy dance songs they got.. really up to who how you're feeling. Simon, the creator/CEO/mentor/producer/etc of XG is a Japanese/Korean born in the US but he's also a former Kpop idol. All XG members are Japanese but most of their content is created in Korea for the Korean market. In short, nobody is sure what category XG really falls in, and they seem comfortable with that.
