    I can shed light on the cable decision. I was the designer for this product. There was an early design that locked in the cable however the detents on the obd2 wire would tend to be inconsistent and not always unlock. They also proved on track to cause the wire to vibrate and power cycle the device. The trade off was you need two hands for the on track reliability and consistency. I am sure it could have been solved but the risk of damaging accessports or just annoying power cycling would have driven users to chuck it off the nearest cliff. Thank you for the support man.       I was thinking about this dilemma. I think a squared off rubber grommet like the circular ones they used to put on the back of gaming PC's would work quite well. It'd stop the plug from falling back through but wouldn't put any strain on the OBD cord. I bet those retention clips have broken lots of OBD cords.

    Thanks for showing the routing of the wire! I was curious as to how routing it down from the vent would work and you showed it perfectly.

    My 18 wrx dam drop .0875 for two months now I try to reset and still the same , I’m on cobb stage 1+ 93 octane

      Hard to say what the issues are but I would stop resetting the ECU and let the car hopefully learn back up to 1 (DAM) again. Also, I’d double check that you have the right tune installed.

    Looks really good actually.. seems like most the ones I see for sale are obviously 3D printed, but the quality isn’t really there. I’d buy this one though.

      Yup, this one definitely looks a lot closer to OEM. It doesn’t stick up too far either.

    What's your final thoughts on this one vs the cheaper 3d printed versions? I'm looking to get one of them, but honestly having the cable loose like that is sort of a deal breaker, at least I think. I'm not sure how much that would annoy me over time vs the other 3d printed ones being able to be one handed. Thanks for the video

      Thanks for the comment. I thought hard about this one and I do like this Mach V mount better. The AP is more secure on there since it’s clipped in as opposed to just “dropped in”. I did, at times, worry about my AP falling out of the window if I hit a bump since the magnet is prone to failing. Plus, the vent scoop is great because it restores the functionality of the vent. The looks of the mount was the least of my worries but I do admit that it looks a lot better than the 3D printed versions. So if you can overlook the one handed feature then I would highly consider this mount.

    would it show on my ecu, if i simply plugged it in to read the numbers? would it void my warranty if i simply plugged it in to make sure the cars good and left it plugged in. no tunes

      I believe in order to use the AccessPort, you would need to marry it to the car and in order to marry it to the car it would need to reflash the ECU. As far as voiding warranty, it’s hard to say, it depends on the dealer and a lot of other factors. The dealership will most likely be able to tell if the ECU has been reflashed.
