Hi this has been a very informative review video. I've always wondered what I would do if a large sums of money were to be paid to me. But what really surprised me was the taxes charged by SARS for money given to family members etc. It show that the black and other communities are not informed about things like this or access is been made so difficult that one gets a shock when you hear about them for the first time. Now I have an idea as to how should one work when you get a large sum of money. Thank you for availing yourself and services to the masses that doesn't have the money to pay for them
Great video, thanks for this!!! And you are right this is a failure of the system just as well as the people involved. Something needs to be done to improve the relationship black people have with money.
Thanks for the review. The bottom line in all of this is, if you spend more than you earn, you are headed for a disaster. This principle applies in all spheres of finances. The only time one must spend more than he/she earns is if they buy assets, i.e things that will give you money in the short to long term. You still need to be careful when buying assets by monitoring your cash flow.
Just a question , on these videos there are a lot of dodgy financial advisors some working for the banks , iv seen a few videos where customers have been taken for a ride .... so I want to know how do you avoid this ?
Unfortunately that is the reality and therefore it is important as an inidividual to equip yourself with financial education in order to atleast make sense of advice that you are given. Also get opions from multiple financial advisors in my experience that can help make advicers improve their service when they are being compared to others in terms of their work. If you still need assistance, you can contact us and we will help to guide your financial journey and help to inform your actions.
Very informative, thank you very much. She made all those mistakes because she was lacking knowledge. We all know how to spend money until a very large lump sum lands in our bank account then we start making stupid decisions. I like your disclaimer as well.
Thank you very much for watching and writing to us! Yes excess cash can lead to unforeseen tragedies because most people just don't know any other way to deal, except to be impulsive up until reality kicks in, when the money is gone.
This is really a great content and thanks for the enlightenment. I have a question for you is it advisable to have both an accountant and a lawyer as the trustees? Another one is according to your estimation how much can an individual pay an accountant trustee per month?
I would need more information and context to understand the overall intention, but for now I could say that when appointing trustees, you are looking for persons that are fit and proper to serve the underlying intention, so in this case an accountant and lawyer have particular expertise that they can contribute. But once again depending on the work requirement an accountant and lawyer can in some cases may have overlapping tasks and this can lead to clashing and operational issues but once again this is not always the case but may be something to keep in mind. To discuss more you may email me at info@brightplanning.co.za
This story really touched me and it's something that could happen to anyone if you don't know much about finances. My friends and I were talking about it and a question was posed would it have been better to win the millions or not have won it and your life would have been the same because you're managing you're used to earning monthly versus getting a lump sum. What do you think?
Wow, that is very subjective question but very important. Honestly everybody would love the chance to win millions and attempt to see how they would use it, but how it turns out will depend on the individual, remember money doesn't change you, it amplifies, what was already inside you. On another note, the painful thing is that after misusing it, the pain of regret and wishing to have done things differently could lead to depression and other mental issues.
Just subscribed… very educational! Will need it now that we’re fixing our SA! Will definitely contact you for future endeavours if you don’t mind 🙏💃🏽😍🙏🇿🇦
donations tax is for more than 100k not 100k and more. meaning that no tax is payable for the police bae donation. also its 20% for the amount over 100k if you donated 110k its 20% of the 10k which is 2k in total
5:09 There will be no donations tax because the amount did not exceed R100k. And if it did then the 20% would be charged on any amount exceeding 100k. e.g If the advance was 101k then the donations tax would be 20% of the 1k. That is R200.
But she did earn her winnings. She didn’t win the jackpot for free. Jordan Belford worked, earned and defrauded (If that’s a word or term) his wealth, that man was a professional and he blew it. So regardless of how you get it and who you are, if one is ignorant, it’s their bliss
I would be interested if you were to go into like tax implications for forex traders, there isn't enough information about what could work against us. Eg. Say I make withdrawals passing the 550k tax bracket what what and decide to file under a company name, when I buy assets under the business as opposed to my name etc.
Thanks for the wonderful suggestion, Nkateko! I have been planning something of a similar nature, will try my best to upload before the end of this month. Thank you for your support!

Hi Lehlohonolo, according to Nedbank these are the top Financial Literacy books to read in SA. www.unlocked.me/money/save/top-south-african-money-books-to-help-you-gain-financial-freedom Hope that helps, let me know if you need further assistance
To save is to have discipline. If you really want to buy the car then use that as motivation to be discipline on your savings journey. Also based on your info, if you are willing to save and have the ability to get financing but choose not to get it out of choice, then you should consider credit as it would force you to be discipline as you would have monthly obligations. At the end dont put yourself in a situation that will hurt you. Have a serious think about lifestyle changes or starting a side hustle to either increase your disposable cash or increase your income, this will be another way to learn disicipline and make extra income at the same time and could help to get you in a position to hopefully get your car. Please not: This is not full advuce but guidance under limited conditions and limited information

100%! it is very important to have more cash flow generating assets than credit plus your living costs combined.
Did she manage to buy any BRAINS with her millions??? That should've been the first most valuable asset to be bought.
I heard Moipone won R5 million again, let's hope she use it well this time
Wow, I also heard about this but havent seen any confirmations, either way hope she does better this time around.

Is the lotto taxed before payout ?
There is absolutely no tax on Lotto winnings, the tax costs come based on what you do with the money
I would be interested if you were to go into like tax implications for forex traders, there isn't enough information about what could work against us.

If it’s less than R100k a year it’s no tax . Anything from from R100 001 to 30million gets taxed 20%

I am poor....I need a car but not a fan of getting a bank loan. How can I save without having the ability dip into that pot. Not so disciplined!
