I am from Melbourne, and we have a house in Kalamata. Would love to retire there one day. But you must visit Kalamata from late June onwards when the weather heats up properly. Stayed 3 months there before! ❤ it.
My husband is from the island of Samos, we visited Kalamata in May 2022 and it was blazing hot! We love Kalamata!
It's such a beautiful city! I would love to go back in the heat and bustle of the summer season.
I’m from Kalamataaaaa
Very nice video
🙏
May is iffy weather sometimes and this year it has been very iffy. The hotel on the water is all you need, very calming.
Yes, it wasn't great weather while I was there, but it was still beautiful. The hotel was SO relaxing :)
I felt your pain on those pebbles. Nice video. Thanks for sharing.
haha yea they were tough on the feet! but worth it for the swim in such clear water!
Beautiful place to relax and have great views. Thanks for sharing all! We will put in our bucket list! Safe travels Laura. Ramon and Zoe
Yes, a wonderful place to relax for sure!
really well-documented footage - well done. Kalamata is one of the nicest places in Peloponnese and so underrated.

I don't know if you have to travel always as a group and you don't have autonomy in deciding where to go , but Mani is a must if you to Peloponese. It is a time capsule riddled with small towers , very unique and gorgeous. Also Monemvasia is a Byzantine city that has been preserved in its original state and people still live in it. I bet you gonna love it. 🙂Ofc all these is in the Lakonia region with Sparta as its capital , i don't know if your tour guides will ever take you there.
I hoped you enjoyed my hometown.
Thanks for sharing and exploring! Great off the beat and path posts!
Thanks, Laura. I've retired in Bulgaria and your videos have been a real help in planning some trips in E. Europe.
I'm so glad they've been helpful for your travels :)
Have you ever tried Retsina wine? I love that with a Greek meal.
I had a little sip, it was unique!

Mamos is my favorite beer too!
Kalamata has 4 km, sandy beach.Enjoy.
It was a little bit more rock than sand while I was visiting, but it is very beautiful!
My home ❤
Now I will know where my favorite Olives come from... 🎉🥂
Yes! there are lots of options to go out on tours there to sample the olives, see the olive oil making process, learn more about the farming process etc.
W9uld you recommend Kalamata as a retirement place?
Very nice video-can you post the prices of your meals so people get an idea of the prices involved ?
Why is the ocean so cold? What time of year were you there? And what type of camera did you use that you can go underwater with it? Thank you.
