- I decided to re-upload my original video as I was unhappy with the quality of my work, as I learn more and more with my editing software I can make better quality videos. Currently planning on switching from just CVR videos to a commentary styled air crash analysis channel. With videos ranging from 10-20 minutes with a detailed overview of what happened, with animations, pictures, and proper editing.

• Japan Airlines Flight ...
The pilots are heroic. They literally wrestled the plane for around 30 mins without any hydraulics whatsoever. RIP to all who died.
Yes, indeed. But airplanes have landed or crash-landed without hydraulics using differential power. Look up the DHL A300 over Baghdad on 22 Nov 2003 for a superb example of this. UA232 (1989) is also a better known example even though many people died. Hydraulics or not the airplane was uncontrollable without its vertical stabilizer.
This one could not land with half of the tail though
@@smcdonald9991 but flying over desert and flying over neighbourhood and also over big mountains are 3 different things
The plane is impossible very impossible to land the plane needs hydraulics and its missing the tail also if the speed increase the plane goes up speed decreases plane goes down its not pilots mistake making the nose go down to the mountain, its the engine that got stuck in 0% and while the co pilot was force fully Trying to do what pilot say and also the flaps went down making the plane stall to the mountain but i still dont know how the plane goes down to 0ft while he was top of the cloud to 0ft maybe the plane stalled or smth idk
@@emiratharakmalsaleh3847 I’ll tell you what REALLY went down if you throw me like a fiver. That’s a really good deal.
Listening to this is so intense. I empathise so much, that it feels like being reborn when it is over.
This and United 232 are examples of pilots fighting for survival until the bitter end
One thing that was mentioned in the final report and never completely understood was that the pilots did not put their oxygen mask on despite having lost cabin pressure and being at FL200 or above for over 15 minutes. Hypoxia is believed to have affected them but this would not have changed the unfortunate outcome. Unless you're flying a B2 Spirit you need a vertical stabilizer on your plane.
Initially they did not know where the decompression is
I have listened to many of the these CVRecordings and have to say, this is one of the most savage. RIP Japan 123.
Hurts me really bad
Its the end, one of the saddest last words ive ever heard. Rip
It’s amazing how lucky the 4 survivors of the accident were!
I'm a fan of the idea in the video description, look forward to it.
Please do more as suggested, perhaps some graphic to show flight data logging, but sometimes, you just want to quickly hear the CVR for ref purposes, this is useful in pilot training and understanding accidents.
That sound is so haunting
the map adds much to the video. maybe keep something like that for future videos.
thanks for sharing.
Respect to everyone who died in that plane crash the pilots have fought the plane with nothing working they deserve their sleep
They fought that plane for 32 minutes more than anyone else could do.
They flew it till the end
It the end!
The were dedicated to keeping the plane in the air but they could not pull up.
I am impressed because they kept the plane in the air for 32 minutes
It’s a crash cause when it lands the plane ✈️ in the backside of the tail. Kinda got a little damage. When the plane took off the logo of the tail ripped off which causes to happen.
Imagine the last thing you hear is *PULL UP*
Life
I guess because of earlier tail strike, the flight lost its rudder due to faulty bolting, which resulted in this tragedy
The repair idiots cut splicing plate short, so overlap was only secured with 2 rows of fastening, instead of the required 3 rows. It lasted, I think 2000 cycles more than what engineers estimated the faulty repair could last. If you look at how they did the repair, and you had one iota of common sense, you'd say to yourself...That isn't right.
@@MrDLRu yes correct
It's the end
That its the end it had no hope in it it was like he was already dead
“stop flapping now”
Transcript of the Cockpit Voice Recorder (CVR)
18.24 Bang heard from rear of aircraft Beep..Beep.. (cabin pressure warning horn)
Captain Takahama: (The captain called for; Emergency squawk 7700 on transponder)
Flight Engineer: "Hydraulic pressure down...amber light on...."
Captain Takahama: "Right turn....Right turn"
Flight Engineer: "I did..."
Captain Takahama: "Tokyo, JAL 123. Request for immed...e......trouble. Request return to
Haneda. Decend an maintain two two zero. Over."
Tokyo Control: "Roger, approved as you requested."
Captain Takahama: "Radar vector to Oshima, please."
Captain Takahama: "Hydro.....all no good."
Tokyo Control: "Fly heading zero none zero, radar vector Oshima."
Captain Takahama: "But, now uncontrol."
Tokyo control: "Uncontrol. Roger, understood."
18.28 Door five, right warning light illuminated, to indicate it was unlocked.
Flight Engineer: (reported after conversation, via plane intercom, with flight attendant)
"Captain, door five right window. Emergency descent may be advisable.
Shall we use our oxygen masks, too?"
Captain Takahama: "Yes, that's better"
Tokyo control: "You are now 72 miles from Nagoya; can you land at Nagoya?"
Captain Takahama: "Request return to Haneda"
18.33 At this stage the engines were still operational, however all flying
controls and hydraulic systems were inoperative. The aircraft was experiencing
a condition called "Dutch roll". The off duty stewardess Yumi Ochiai, one
of the four survivors, who had been sitting in the rear section of the plane
recalled how the 747 began to "hira-hira", fall like a leaf.
The pilots attempted to direct the aircraft using the engines alone, and
lowered the landing gear to try to help control the speed and stability
of the plane.
18.41 At 22,000ft complete control was lost and the aircraft banked in a
full circle 2.5 miles in radius over Otsuki City.
18.47
Tokyo Control: "Can you control now"
Captain Takahama: "Uncontrollable"
Captain Takahama: "Hey, there's a mountain.
Captain Takahama: "Turn right. Up. Fight!"
The crew applied full power to climb but the aircraft began to pitch up and down wildly.
Then the speed began to drop rapidly down to 108kt.
Flight Engineer: "Shall I rev it up?"
Captain Takahama: "Rev up, Rev up..Oh no.....stall."
Captain Takahama: "Maximum power"
Flight Engineer: "We are gaining speed"
Captain Takahama: "Keep trying"
Captain Takahama: "The speed is 220kt."
Tokyo Approach: "JAL 123, your position five ah, five ah, 45 miles northwest of Haneda"
Captain Takahama: "Northwest of Haneda. Eh, how, how many miles?"
Tokyo Approach: "Yes, that's right. According to our radar it is 55 miles northwest, ah
25 miles west of Kumagaya. Roger, I will talk in Japanese. We are ready for your
approach any time. Also, Yokota landing is available. Let us know your intensions."
18.50 The aircraft was now decending the Captain tried to control the plane using
flaps and power.
Captain Takahama: "Flap set?"
First Officer: "Yes, flap ten"
Captain Takahama: "Nose up....Nose up......Nose up.
Captain Takahama: "Hey, hold the flap....ah, don't lower so much flap.
Flap up, flap up, flap up."
Captain Takahama: "Power, power....flaps."
First Officer: "It is up."
Captain Takahama: "Nose up......Nose up......POWER."
Audio Ground proximity warning system sounded (GPWS)
GPWS: "Pull up..Pull up...Pull up......"
Captain Takahama: "It's the end."
[End of Recording]
This recording is the beginning of a Rammstein song for some reason. I knew I heard it somewhere.

I like your videos, but I have two quick suggestions: (1) the red font you're using to indicate cockpit warnings, etc is too indistinct and hard to read, perhaps use a yellow font to make it easier to read, and (2) the text you're putting on the screen at the end of the videos (explaining the circumstances surrounding the crash, etc) is too small. Thanks for your videos though. Very sobering.
The *WHOOP WHOOP PULL UP* kinda give me the creeps even the *beep beep beep*

Actually he said NOSE UP! not its the end!
He did say “it’s the end!”
you can find it in the transcript.
@@5SuperAviationFans No, he said Nose up, the transcript is wrong.
@@5SuperAviationFans Plus it doesn't say anything like it's the end.

man if I ever own a plane. It wont be a boeing
This specific crash wasn’t a boeing though.
@@NoThoughtAllFeels uh, this is a boeing 747
Airbus is better than boeing, change my mind. (Reason: why the hell does boeing have so low gear? they competed with airbus and failed because their engines were pushed forward and up. why cant they just increase the height of the damn gear
@@holdyourspike well the 757 has high gear..
no autopilot for 30 minutes.wow
