The Epic Tale of Salahuddin Al Ayyubi (Saladin) | Leader of the Islamic Forces During the Crusades

The pinnacle of Saladin's success came during the Crusades. In 1187, during the Battle of Hattin, Saladin successfully defeated the Crusader forces and recaptured Jerusalem after nearly a century under Christian rule. However, in this victory, Saladin displayed a remarkably noble attitude and respect towards his enemies.
When Jerusalem fell into Saladin's hands, he demonstrated tolerance and humanity. He allowed Christian residents to leave the city safely as long as they paid a ransom. This action earned him respect from both Muslim and Christian communities.

A decent summary of Saladin's achievements but why no mention of that other great leader Richard The Lionheart who defeated Saladin at The Siege of Acre, decisively routed his army at The Battle of Arsuf and effectively ruined Saladin's reputation as the military greatest leader of the time. Without this part of Saladin's story the account is somewhat one-sided.
