    Farout.. unlucky mate, once you get the new water pump on it find ur old thermostat and cut the center out an chuck the O-ring from the new one back on the hollowed out one so you can use it to flush the engine out with something like Nulon radiator/coolant flush an 100% get ef/el twin thermofans, them clutch fans chew power, ruin waterpumps and are just a cvnt to work around.. im probably on my 50th coolant flush and im still getting shit coming out of my sohc block hahah, love the content mate! keep up the great work

      @@DirtySOHC78 hell yeah nice! keen to see it make boost. My next plans for my sohc is get the head shaved down abit an run a AU MLS headgasket because its thinner so that plus the bit shaved off the head bumps the compression up slightly from like 8.8 to 9.3+ I think

      It’s just hard to source out good information on a solid build. See what happens when I get to the internals of the original engine. The Tickford head runs at a higher compression anyway so I don’t have to touch. Think I will put a stage 4 crow cam in. Just hoping that all bearing clearance come up good.

      good choice mines a home made with a t4 flange had it on a AU fairlane for years
      still prefeer the sound s a SOHC over a barra , i have a 750 HP barra but i miss the dirty SOHC do u follow the lads from Hackshop garage?

    I was doing this 20 years ago with these cars.
    First step is a new genuine water pump. The twin thermo conversion and a solid flushing. Even try a long pipe brush down the block with the Welsh plugs out.
    You can drill and tap the water jacket at the back of the head and route it to the inlet side of the radiator also.
    Timing setting is important. To.
    And also that radiator will be blocked solid. Have it professionally cleaned. Or get a new triple pass alloy unit. And run a panty hose foot in the inlet. It will act as a filter and catch all the crap coming out of the block. You can buy filters. But this method is free
