    Tools to get the answer
    1. Become observant, everywhere you go look at what other people are doing and bring it back to your area.
    2. Become a lateral thinker
    3. Become a world-class problem solver
    4. Become a lean thinker, Become a lean thinker, Become a lean thinker

  • @Masyaroundtheworld

Luckily I found this video. This is incredibly well presented. The man presents his idea in a simple way, making it easily digested and understood. The concept he delivers is not only theoretically acceptable but also realistically applicable. He sees things more clearly than average people could due to his observant nature and sense of problem solver. Hardly anybody would be able to build this capacity unless he doesn't complicate things. Be observant regardless where you are, identify what won't work and make it simpler, be a lean thinker and execute ideas once you know it's highly in need. Besides, customers will tell you what products they really need, yet you need to teach them how to be lean thinkers. Absolutely amazing!

I just got a shop vac because I am detailing cars for a small business start up. Just the other night I thought of that idea of having control of the vac at the nozzle. It quickly went away as I have a bit of scattered brain right now. Yes, I saw it’s a product in this video, but it blows me away that something like that came into my mind and I waived it away. Makes me wonder what other great problem solving products I have waived away! This was a great video!

I am thinking about a new type of restaurants: eating-spots
in eating-spots, food keeps changing, chefs also rotate
this is opposed to current restaurants,
thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are more powerful than restaurants,
along with that, there is an app,
people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days
menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app.

Hi I was wondering if anyone could answer my question. Paul brings this idea up that in order to gain validation for a given product you have to go around showing people it, and gauge their response to see if people actually want it. How do you overcome the risks of someone then seeing that validation from your presentation and stealing it? Being said how do you present your product with a good enough balance between what you show and hide in which people can become interested in it but make it difficult for people to steal it? Thanks. Paul is a great inspiration and has lit a lot of lightbulbs up in my head to start thinking about things in a new way.

    • @UpFlip
      @UpFlip  3 года назад +5

You can always sign an NDA, but most of the time people will "try" to steal it but when the hard work hits them, they never follow through.

Lateral thinking is also known as innovation. It's the fusion of two or more ideas to create a hybrid of sorts, and it's as old as time itself. The first cave man (or woman) who attached a wooden stick to a pounding rock made a good tool even better. It's not always rocket science, but practical, relevant and valuable innovation is not as easy as Paul makes it sound.

how does this sound : a new type of restaurants : eating-spots,
in eating-spots, food keeps changing chefs also rotate,
this is opposed to current restaurants,
thanks to this rotation of food and chefs, eating-spots are way more powerful than restaurants,
along with that, there is an app,
people vote for the food that will be cooked in the next days,
menu is influenced by the live input of the people via an app

    Great video!!
Love to hear the in’s and out’s as to how to navigate patents when using one product and re-purposing it in another way. Also, how to get an idea from concept to production.
I think there are a lot of people with clever ideas who get stifled early on due to these issues.
    Please comment and thank you!!!

Agreed... 😊 What to do after the idea, don't need a detailed explanation, but could be useful to get some knowledge about how to source out materials, how/where to look for manufacturers etc. To get a Patent I guess you need a lawyer?

I wonder how he gets these products to stores and customers in general?
Competition can easily copy these ideas or make cheaper or better alternatives.
And unfortunately I doubt intellectual property will be able to protect him here.
If a bigger company copies his ideas,
they can probably sell them for way cheaper and convince store owners to put their products in their stores.
