Tools to get the answer 1. Become observant, everywhere you go look at what other people are doing and bring it back to your area. 2. Become a lateral thinker 3. Become a world-class problem solver 4. Become a lean thinker, Become a lean thinker, Become a lean thinker
Luckily I found this video. This is incredibly well presented. The man presents his idea in a simple way, making it easily digested and understood. The concept he delivers is not only theoretically acceptable but also realistically applicable. He sees things more clearly than average people could due to his observant nature and sense of problem solver. Hardly anybody would be able to build this capacity unless he doesn't complicate things. Be observant regardless where you are, identify what won't work and make it simpler, be a lean thinker and execute ideas once you know it's highly in need. Besides, customers will tell you what products they really need, yet you need to teach them how to be lean thinkers. Absolutely amazing!

@@UpFlip Lean is so easy to me. I would love to be a lean business owner and coach. I've done a lot of direct experience study on the mind and observing other people. I just got a shop vac because I am detailing cars for a small business start up. Just the other night I thought of that idea of having control of the vac at the nozzle. It quickly went away as I have a bit of scattered brain right now. Yes, I saw it’s a product in this video, but it blows me away that something like that came into my mind and I waived it away. Makes me wonder what other great problem solving products I have waived away! This was a great video!

Hi I was wondering if anyone could answer my question. Paul brings this idea up that in order to gain validation for a given product you have to go around showing people it, and gauge their response to see if people actually want it. How do you overcome the risks of someone then seeing that validation from your presentation and stealing it? Being said how do you present your product with a good enough balance between what you show and hide in which people can become interested in it but make it difficult for people to steal it? Thanks. Paul is a great inspiration and has lit a lot of lightbulbs up in my head to start thinking about things in a new way.

Lateral thinking is also known as innovation. It's the fusion of two or more ideas to create a hybrid of sorts, and it's as old as time itself. The first cave man (or woman) who attached a wooden stick to a pounding rock made a good tool even better. It's not always rocket science, but practical, relevant and valuable innovation is not as easy as Paul makes it sound.
The problem is not thinking lean but what are the steps to take our lateral idea 💡 to product instead of giving the idea away so someone else can profit
7-11 has an incredible story. They were an ice house in a time before refrigeration was involvnted. Instead of going out of business like all the others they sold eggs, cheese, milk etc and that's why they exist today
