I'm here in Darlington S.C. and have not pulled honey since april. Lost 20 hives from putting wets back on because of no flow and robbing.. Still have 23 strong hives I will try and keep till 2024. Goldenrod is just starting here to bloom been a grazy year in S C.
Hi Brian, I just came in from pulling honey from 7 of my 14 hives. Got 33 deep frames with 75% or more capped cells. There was a wide variety of honey conditions in the 7 hives I looked at. 6 LLHs and 1 vertical hives for the hives looked at today. Some were almost nectar bound and 1 looked like there was no nectar flow. One hive looked like there was enough bees to warrant a swarm but I didn't see any swarm cells. And this hive had brood on about 15 frames! Usually the brood is near the entrance, but this hive have a small amount of brood on the 3rd to last frame from the entrance. My early pull netted about 250 #s of honey. I have about 150-200#s waiting to be extracted now with another 7 vertical hives to harvest. So I'm right there with you for my record year too. Not bad if I don't say so myself for my 5th year of keeping bees. Thanks for the update video. I hope to have some time tomorrow morning to join the live chat on Nature's Image Farm channel.
I wish you well on the goldenrod honey flow. I've never had a fall flow so I have to feed like crazy now. Have a good weekend. Are you doing another market Saturday?
Great video my friend!! 👍
Thank you David. .
