As a matter of fact, before Notch made Minecraft, he wanted to make a game called RubyDung (Ruby Dungeon), but that game never saw the light of day.
Notch did, however, end up using the textures of Grass and Stone from RubyDung for the original release of Minecraft(known as Cave Game and later, Minecraft: Order of the Stone)'s Grass and Cobblestone textures

Gardevoir: Yeah, Smash already has enough coomers with Palutena alone, so Gardevoir would be a horrible idea
Gengar: I'd say he is so iconic that he ascends beyond the overreprentation of gen 1. Hell, the co-creator of Pokémon and lead designer of the mons for the majority of the series, Ken Sugimori, said Gengar was his favorite!
Blaziken: Personally, I'd prefer Infernape get is, but that's just my bias due to my first mon being Chimchar from Platinum. Also, not only was putting Incineroar into Smash a mistake, but I think Incineroar very existence as Pokémon was a mistake. Dude's butt-ugly and is the worst Pokémon they could've picked for the game. He only got in from nepotism due to USUM's recent release by the time Ultimate came out, so he was clearly going to be out of place due to said nepotism.
Samurott: Good pick. I'd say very solid, but the only problem is that, due to him being quadripedal but using two swords with front legs, It'd be hard to animate even with only the mainline Pokémon games' 3D animations as a reference point.
Dracovish: Would be funny, but same as Samurott, only it'd just be near impossible to animate well and fit with the consistency of Smash fighters.
Eternatus: Yeah, he'd be way too big. Maybe as a Master Ball item Mon?
