First episodes rarely prove memorable because they carry the burden of introducing characters and story. That tends to require dull exposition. A first episode must grab the viewers sufficiently to invite returning for ep 2 but without giving away too many surprises. So, first eps occupy a weird realm that often results in them not feeling like the rest of the series. Therefore, a video like this, that evaluate premieres in their own category makes total sense to me. I'd have added Gaya sa Pelikula's first episode to the list. It perfectly introduces Vlad and Karl as characters, establishes the family dynamics that brought each to that moment, and sets up the "fake boyfriend" scenario in as plausible a manner as that trope has ever seen. And it was as witty and breezy as the whole series.
Dear John, Thank you so much for paying attention to the theme and the thought I put behind it! Strangely, although "Like in the movies" is a perfect 10 for me I didn't think the first EP was that strong,. I did consider another Pinoy- Oh Mando, but eventually decided not to include it.
Which series episode do you mean? And my most favourite series are : Until we meet again, why r u, Bad buddy , Not me , Kinnporsche (Thai) but there are plenty more great ones... I have a video about Taiwanese BLs and I love all of the series in that video. I love Light on me and semantic error from Korea, Like in the Movies from Philipins, and Kieta Hatsukoi , 30-sai made Dotei , Old Fashion Cupcake - Japan
