Welcome to rock, my friend. Edit: I have a great playlist if you want to check out some other bands like Breaking Benjamin, Icon For Hire, Halestorm, Three Days Grace, Linkin Park, Green Day, and a few others.
So i just jammed thos whole album out and introduced it to my daughter ...who is 4. She likes it....but thinks Amy lee is kinda "skooky" ....but she was singing along under her little breath... It just brings so many emotions.....back to early 2000s...going into my 20s. Learning who my friends werent. Learning myself and what i didnt stand for....what i wouldnt stand for.....it was an emotional and lonely time. A lot of crying ...and drinking. ...and crying. Whatever...now im bore and old. Ha.
I know she could've been huge and still can be. She has the kinda voice that translates emotions and as an artist and singer that is powerful. I love you.
Be careful...feeling is deceitful...she's going under(in hell) drawing you and falling forever....you sure you want that? Better stand(not fall) forever in eternal life by faith in Jesus Christ. But it's your choice :) She is very tempting that's for sure.
There's something else about this song... Amy's harmonised vocals over the chorus in conjunction with the heaviness the band deliver sends goosebumps and shivers all over me. Such a classic.
Even after all these years, this song is giving me chills whenever I listen to it and it always feels like I listen to it for the first time. Awesome masterpiece! 👏👏👏
listen she sings beautifully Evanescence I admire her she is my number one super fan I speak Spanish but I translate it into English but she sings beautifully I love you thanks for the songs you do every year

A++ Video and song! The transition of crowd surfing and actual water is executed perfectly. The audience covering her like water when she dives is amazing cinematography. And Amy Lee's voice is the most haunting, so good! One of my favorite videos!!!
I know this makes me very nostalgic and music today is really terrible. Me listening to this music makes me very sad knowing nothing like this will ever be made again. :(
my gf at that time used to listen to this each time we would had a little vocal or text fight, then when we broke up, i started listening to this music. This was over 800 years ago...

This song still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it especially with the video! The symbolism of the people around her and even her bandmates turning into demons really gets me and how when she jumps into the crowd and it turns to water with stinging jellyfish all around, Wow! Its hard to trust anybody these days
@@Mopehome I think it's more of an allegory about how everyone around you has the potential to turn on you at any time or have malicious thoughts about you.
This song is so fucking underrated, this is one of the best songs from Evanescence in my opinion *EDIT* I did this comment comparing with BMTL and My Immortal. BMTL has more than 600M views and Going Under has just the sixth part of it
It was a hit, but I still think it's underrated. People don't think of this song anymore. Her voice is so beautiful... the transition between notes is so clean
@euro vision Thing is. Sexyness is relative. I find Amy a really sexy interesting woman. So yeh for me Amy Lee is sexy in her own way. I dont find "modern women" as sexy as her.
Being born in the 80s is a blessing. You get to live through it, experience the 90s and the early 00s. Time should have frozen in the early millennium years. Nothing seems the same or better.
Sorry I have to disagree, being born early 60's, we had some great music growing up from punk, new wave, two-tone, mods, new wave of British heavy metal, new romantics, Goth, electronic music and disco[ although not my taste]. Plus not too old to enjoy the 90's especially the Brit pop era and still like the 60's stuff as well.
2:16 god, this one-take shot of her under water is so freaking impressive. she is very deliberate in her movements and emotions she's using for each specific line of the song. bravo!!!
@marswmn hade same thing but I broke up with him this year by a almost 7 years relationship it was abuse manipulation and emotional abuse and he would always laugh and smile about it like it was q joke but I was tired of it so I was just done and I deal with depression, anxiety, ptsd
Evanescence is one of those bands that just completely transcended the entire genre of numetal and rock as a whole. They were always sort of left out of the conversation of important rock bands of the 2000s at the time. They were so commercially successful and validated by such a wide audience so fast that they were written off as not a real or serious metal band. I dunno, they just nailed it right out the gate, so aesthetically and sonically well defined. What a band, what a voice, what a song.
She is the best vocalist I've heard in my lifetime. The notes she hits and transitions she pulls off send an arrow straight to my heart's and gives me deeper chills than the best ASMR.
i remember my mom listening to this music and me just being a little 7 year old rocking out to this. Who would of thought that i would be listening to this type of music now. Dam i used to listen to lady gaga and other pop but now i have found the music that i am in love with. MCR and Evanescence are my two favorite bands of all time.
YO ME AF. In 6th grade I was really super obsessed with Lady Gaga and in 7th I went through a Justin Bieber phase (ew) and well my username pretty much explains me now lol
Evanescence at the peak of its black, visceral haunting power. The crazies of the world closing in to suffocate yet held at bay with her mesmerizingly beautiful voice. Sublime.

You might like Nightwish. They have a lot of songs though, so for a dark one I recommend Devil and The Deep Dark Ocean, or Ghost Love Score sung by Floor Jansen. That band has also had two other singers, so I recommend checking out a few songs from each to see which era of Nightwish you prefer.
You should listen to all of their other stuff. They have three albums and they're all amazing, although I would recommend Sweet Sacrifice and Cloud Nine as your next listens if this is your favorite song.

Ha.
Honestly this song gets better with time. Intense goosebumps
right?
Nostalgic
Its better 10 years later
Glad I’m not the only one who got goosebumps to this song in 2021 😂
It's because previously we are only listening to the song but now we are able to understand and feel the music as well
Why is nobody talking about HOW BEAUTIFUL THIS WOMAN IS?
She indeed is
She is very beautiful. Love her style too
Amy Lee the best
And she looks almost exactly the same all these years later... SHE MUST REVEAL HER SECRETS.
Yes indeed !!!!
I know she could've been huge and still can be. She has the kinda voice that translates emotions and as an artist and singer that is powerful. I love you.
Early 2000's, when music was still awesome
Bitch i bet you weren't even born when this was released
exactly! I have friends that say the 21st century music is trash... and I agree mostly. Some of the early 21st century music is great, like this
yup
+Lucy Heartfilia it's true. butthurt much? music now is absolutely shit
Now there are shitty rap song with grunts and gun shots in the background
I literally FEEL this song every time
Be careful...feeling is deceitful...she's going under(in hell) drawing you and falling forever....you sure you want that? Better stand(not fall) forever in eternal life by faith in Jesus Christ. But it's your choice :) She is very tempting that's for sure.

There's something else about this song... Amy's harmonised vocals over the chorus in conjunction with the heaviness the band deliver sends goosebumps and shivers all over me. Such a classic.

I think this song makes us feel a different yet special type of nostalgia.
Amy’s voice is just brilliant.
A++ Video and song! The transition of crowd surfing and actual water is executed perfectly. The audience covering her like water when she dives is amazing cinematography. And Amy Lee's voice is the most haunting, so good! One of my favorite videos!!!

This song still gives me goosebumps every time I hear it especially with the video! The symbolism of the people around her and even her bandmates turning into demons really gets me and how when she jumps into the crowd and it turns to water with stinging jellyfish all around, Wow! Its hard to trust anybody these days
When she jumps in the water that's my favorite part
Yessss
wait so, at the end was she hallucinating? or he was turning into a demon?
@@Mopehome I think it's more of an allegory about how everyone around you has the potential to turn on you at any time or have malicious thoughts about you.

Dresses like a witch

It was a hit, but I still think it's underrated. People don't think of this song anymore. Her voice is so beautiful... the transition between notes is so clean

Being born in the 80s is a blessing. You get to live through it, experience the 90s and the early 00s. Time should have frozen in the early millennium years. Nothing seems the same or better.
feeling the same
Entertainment wise, sure...everything else....ehhhhh.

Not heard Anne Wilson?
Omg I get ASMR tingles with her voice too!!!

Lyrics::
Now I will tell you what I've done for you
Fifty thousand tears I've cried
Screaming, deceiving and bleeding for you
And you still won't hear me going under
Don't want your hand this time - I'll save myself
Maybe I'll wake up for once (wake up for once)
Not tormented daily defeated by you
Just when I thought I'd reached the bottom
I'm dying again
I'm going under (going under)
Drowning in you (drowning in you)
I'm falling forever (falling forever)
I've got to break through
I'm going under
Blurring and stirring the truth and the lies (so I don't know what's real)
So I don't know what's real and what's not (don't know what's real and what's not)
Always confusing the thoughts in my head
So I can't trust myself anymore
I'm dying again
I'm going under (going under)
Drowning in you (drowning in you)
I'm falling forever (falling forever)
I've got to break through
I'm...
So go on and scream, scream at me
I'm so far away (so far away)
I won't be broken again (again)
I've got to breathe
I can't keep going under
I'm dying again
I'm going under (going under)
Drowning in you (drowning in you)
I'm falling forever (falling forever)
I've got to break through
