After seeing multiple comments criticising the fact I skipped through dialogue, I rewatched the whole story section of the video again. From what I could see, the very beginning of the game with Kafka and Silver Wolf confused me. I thought the stellaron was the main character and that they (Kafka and Silver Wolf) were the antimatter legion. After rewatching, I believe the stellaron was actually the gold thing just before we woke up and that the antimatter legion were actually the monsters we fought. I'm not sure what group Kafka and Silver Wolf are part of but I'm guessing they try to find the stellarons and we were probably part of their group before. Additionally, after rewatching this, I feel like I didn't actually skip through much dialogue apart from the parts which weren't actually important as I say at 39:50.
One other thing I feel like many misunderstood was that this was mainly just to see what the game is about. I'm sorry for those who were hoping for a playthrough but unless I change my mind and decide to play it again, I likely won't be doing much more with the game as I say at 1:04:19.
Sorry for this long paragraph but I feel like this responds to what most people said and potential future comments.

Don’t sweat it, tbh at first I was thinking you were being kind of critical because in genshin we did not figure out the plot right away either but I realized the difference was the combat and beautiful open world that attracted people more vs star rail’s more story driven and strategic. Not everyone will like turn based games either; I never use to until playing dislyte then star rail. Anyways hope people weren’t too harsh with their comments, it was still a good video

Skipping the dialogue may hinder your experience a bit. The story post tutorial (which is the space station) gets pretty interesting. But I guess if you are a more battle oriented player, you’re probably rushing to the Endgame content. Hope you have a good time.

I forgot to mention this but for anyone wondering, I had almost no knowledge of the game beforehand other than knowing of a few characters and that the combat is turn-based rather than how Genshin Impact's combat is. The story and everything else was a complete unknown to me.

Interacting with items can lead to little easter eggs of references like there is one directly to paimon and other genshin/anime/meme references. You probably want to record the trash can interactions because its like a little mini story.

Super awesome video! I really like Star rail. Just an FYI though the audio in your video is extremely quiet, I had to max my volume to hear what you were saying.

what a terrible way to experience the game for the first time. Cut dialogue, rushed gameplay, and confused player.

The first time I played this game I dropped it at exactly the same place you did. I prefer fantasy style games just like you, but recently I came back to it cause I was bored, and a little later the vibe changes a lot and now I enjoy it. You should give it another shot when you have the time. Also your voice compared to the games volume is a bit quiet

This!! I started this game on black swans banner and after I did a few things I just stopped playing.
I came back during Acheron’s banner and oh my god I wish I never dropped it, hsr is now one of my favorite gacha games and I’m glad I gave it another chance

Literally 90% of the non-combat gameplay is skipped, my guy! You won't fully enjoy this game if all you care about is the combat! The big draw for HSR is the story and little details in the background you made a point to skip. Not trying to dissuade you from playing, I wish you luck! But you gotta slow down and enjoy the game beyond more than combat mechanics!
And don't feel bad about comparing it to Genshin; it takes a bit to untrain your brain once you get used to a certain style of game play and names/places you've seen for years. I switch playing between MMOs, MOBAs, ARPGs, TBGs, Strats, FPS, and Gacha, so I never get pigeon-holed into one style of play.
At least you gave the game a try before judgment!

Same thing with me, In Genshin I was a hardcore/meta slave so I would 100% the exploration/ tried to mid maxing my artifacts/ 36 starring abyss every time I played everyday and was AR 59 and stopped around late 2022, because I hated the direction the game was taking, and with all the scandals Hoyoverse pulled it legit tarnished the game/company's reputation for me. The first time I heard about Star Rail was in mid 2023 from an old friend, but as soon as I heard it was from Hoyoverse I lost all interest entirely... I downloaded the game during Kafka's Banner debut , because I wanted to complete an offer from a different game for free rewards... I went in already hating the game and so I skipped all the dialogue and didn't even pay attention to the cutscenes, Just wanting to reach TL 10 ASAP for my free reward. After I reached TL 10 I stopped playing entirely.... Two week later I was about to delete Star Rail, because I needed space but I ultimately decided to give the game another chance, Because I love Sci- Fi/ Turn based.... I actually payed attention to the story and with the love/ Generosity/QOL that Hoyoverse has given to the game. I fell in love... Now I'm TL 69 halfway to 70, and hopefully they're raise the TL level again
