Don't you love it when the flightless bird flies a kite that looks like a bird and has the kite that looks like a bird fly the flightless bird. Classic evolution they teach in schools.
Fun fact, Kuroiro's Quirk and Hero Name are Black and Vantablack in the Manga. Due to copyright over the usage of Vantablack it got changed to 'Dark' in the anime.
It's really telling how strong Kuoriro is that Plan A was him by himself against all of 1-A's team. He had them on the ropes. (Poor Can't Stop Twinkling 😅😅)
He’s one of the best in Class B as one of the only speedsters. He DEFINITELY was one of the Class B students who held back in the obstacle race. He would’ve been in the top 5 if he went all out. Most of the obstacles made plenty of shadows to move around in. And I am genuinely thinking one of Class B would have won the race or would’ve been RIGHT with Bakugo, Todoroki, and Deku at the end.
@@Kaempfdog Thing is, his Quirk needs shadows to work. The race was an open field in broad daylight, so that's probably why he wasn't further ahead. I'm drawing a blank on what kind of support item could amend this weakness. Any ideas?

I absolutely adore how it emphasizes the difference between the students who have been in real encounters vs ones who haven’t, not just in the 1A vs 1B sense but also the way Tsu and Kirishima thought vs how the other 1A kids thought. It’s super cool and engaging!!
The "fated rival" thing is a similar deal to Kirishima and Tetsutetsu. They're not necessarily enemies, but they are an opponent of particular note to each other. Their quirks do similar things and/or interact in interesting ways, so they are good measuring sticks for each other and challenge each other in ways that force the other to grow and adapt. It's a bit like how in most series if there is an ice and a fire wielder you can bet that they will be repeatedly facing off and developing methods to counter each other.
I believe I can fly, I believe I can touch the sky. I think about it every night and day. Spread my wings and fly away. I believe I can soar. I see me running through that open door
Monoma's hero name Phantom Thief is reference to a chivalrous and charismatic troupe Japan loves of a "villain" that the populous loves. Lelouch's alias as Zero was very much modeled after that same sort of architype with the theatrics and showmanship he would put on as the Black Knight of Justice.
I think his experience with hawks during the work study is funny because he “hitched a ride on his shadow” as far back as the sports fest obstacle course. It’s even funnier because he only did it once back then, and then seemingly forgot until he had a work study with hawks. Bro could fly the whole time but the last time he used it was long enough ago that even the mangaka forgot about it 💀
For the purposes of the flying debate, lifting one thirty foot arm into the air is not flying. Cool, and you can reach it far away from your body, but no part of the system has left the ground.
“let’s go fly a kite” would you consider a kite not flying? The person is not flying, but the kite is. It is the exact same thing with Dark Shadow & Tokoyami..
commenting to say Montana was right, Dark Shadow is flying lol. It is exactly like a kite…the phrase “let’s go fly a kite”. The kite is flying but the person isn’t, similar to Dark Shadow and Tokoyami.
Ok Round 2! Class A Support Squad vs Class B Support Squad! Actually get to talk story and show development a bit today. Alright since I’m pretty much covering every character for the finale of each match when they take more than one episode, I won’t be covering many character specific moments happening in the arc. Not that there’s all that much because they want to just focus on the fights and strategizing. Class A Defense team reflects and beats themselves up on their performance. All-Might brought up that Class A has turned their crisis into power, and what a great reflection as these kids just truly feel like every moment they lose teammates it’s like ACTUALLY losing people. And I can kinda plug that into one of MHA’s complaints. It takes itself too seriously for its stakes sometimes. And I say to that the show in many ways can’t really be removed from real life and goes out of its way to plug a functioning hero society into ours. The kids have faced tragedy after tragedy and while they always make it out alive, they are always threatened with otherwise and if they get injured and hold back teammates or getting back into action, you don’t get to just shake it off and say get over it. You want to prevent to prevent tragedy and these kids have faces nothing BUT tragedy. It’s not school, they see what happens when someone gets captured. (Kamino Ward) They’ve seen what happens when someone gets severely injured on the field and they can’t just stitch them up. (Stain, and anytime Deku screams) You wouldn’t want your kids, your friends, or anyone to go through that. You don’t say well I lost an arm but I have 90% of my body still! You don’t think well I lost a teammate oh well I have other teammates! That’s not what this career path is or ever will be. That’s the entire reason fights like Todoroki vs Deku are still SO huge now! Because when Deku said I’ll shave off body parts systematically to last longer, everyone is screaming STOP. Don’t forget the lessons the more popular seasons had because they aren’t lost. I’ll also mention the budget of this season is a tad lower as it was in development at the same time as another MHA movie. And thus you can feel…maybe a bit season 1 syndrome. The animation takes a bit of a dip and the characters seem…off sometimes. Don’t get me wrong it’s not like the characters are almost pokemon monologuing but it’s a step in that direction. And when the show is so jam packed with characters just being themselves every moment of existence, it makes the…let’s call it the DBZ peanut gallery moments look off when everything else actually felt more like a conversation. Like there’s no segue sometimes. It’s hard to describe. The easiest one to spot is the teachers. All-Might while thinking about the kids progress didn’t have anything very substantial to add to get him to flashback or have his character use as a jump off point. And I get his nostalgia of sorts, but for it to be explored here seems…off. The closest thing that comes to mind is Deku saving Uraraka/Camie/Toga in the provisional license exam and he flashes back about his experience out of the blue, but at the very least he comes to the conclusion he has to help himself to help others. It still furthers his story and it’s done tactfully. Where it feels LESS with that here. And then it becomes explaining things for explaining sake. And that’s what Season 1 did. It’s what makes season 1 in my opinion the worst season when there’s so many diverse characters and personality, but it’s not used. (It was not established then, but neither did they really try.) It’s not protected by nostalgia like season 1 is and that always ticks me off when you can SEE when people take off their blinders and act like a problem is newer than it is. But then it’s followed up with Kendo and Momo having a sort of rivalry to avoid being compared as they’re established as their team leaders and strategizers and Tokoyami and Kuroiro starting their rivalry of who is more emo and they are both the forefront powerhouse focus that the other 3 act as support for. Which ACTUALLY serves purpose and makes sense with their experiences as they show how they are set up as major support operations. And Momo and Kendo were always implied they would be that way because they did their internship with Uwabami the model hero and they were left as nothing but support for her as her entourage. Now they both embrace it with so much more confidence than they used to carry. Momo on screen but Kendo found herself in a similar boat. I like that even though they aren’t just team leaders but class leaders, they don’t fear that they have to be the backup knowing some of their classmates would rather them be at the frontlines. Speaking of, this is a strategy battle more than anything. And the general rule of thumb is everyone is prepared for their moves in the sports festival, while being blind to everything they developed in the provisional license arc, and not to mention any work studies. And when you look at say…Uraraka who has gone on to completely shatter the foundation of her quirk into control of an absolute in the world, the quirks and their general strategies can completely change when more fundamentals are discovered. Kendo guessed Dark Shadow would do recon, but Momo can make anything to help like making a drone, or other varieties of devices to track their movements. And Hagakure so long as she’s quiet can get free damage in whenever she wants. So there’s a lot to consider. Momo and Kendo having Todoroki and Tetsu rooting for them the most and even Momo confiding her strategy with Todoroki just because. That’s really cute and sweet. Tokoyami FINALLY reveals his internship and work study experiences. I LOVED this. Tokoyami was a very notable absence in the Stain arc, and although he got the big announcement about the work study program of a hero specifically requesting him when the others had to be the ones actively searching them out, it went untouched. Now we know why. He just chased a hero flying around at hundreds of miles an hour throughout, and slowly gained his attention more. Hawks more wanted intel so he could prepare for whatever assignment lay ahead for the league investigations, and then eventually his spy assignment. Hawks brings up a very relevant trap of don’t forget what you’re good at while covering your weaknesses. If I’d say for anyone to fall for it, I’d give Hiryu Rin the scale guy last round likely fell into that trap. And with Tokoyami beefing his short range, he’s neglecting what makes his quirk so unique. He can be whatever he wants to be. And he takes one of the most unique forms Dark Shadow has ever been in with Dark Fallen Angel. (I’d just go with Fallen Angel personally. I don’t think you can get much darker than what Satan is.) Present Mic said in season 2 that dark shadow is a transforming beast of many shapes but we’ve never seen him play with it other than the giant kaiju in pitch dark conditions. And now he has a super unique shape with practically unlimited versatility. Season 5 is kinda notorious, but I’d call it more mildly awkward. And the good it offers still far outweighs the small complaints. Just don’t assume this show is reskinned DBZ, and that kinda covers a lot of complaints. Next time there’s 8 full characters to go completely in depth on!
You think this show takes itself too seriously? It's as Tetsutetsu says in the next match. If you're unwilling to give and risk it all in training, how do you know if you'll do it in the real thing? Also, yes. Shoto and Tetsutetsu cheering their girls Momo and Kendo on is very cute. I kinda wish their classmates called them out on how they were sounded during that. 😅
@@HaydrogenBomb I don’t think that. I’m addressing MHA’s complaints and I disagree with the vast majority of them. There are some I acknowledge, I think Seaosn 5 is awkward and acknowledge how and where. The complaint is that for such a silly little class it’s way too serious. Which…y’know. The FIRST training match in season 1 between Deku and Uraraka vs Bakugo and Iida was literally life and death IMMEDIATELY so I don’t get why it would relax NOW.

Mina Ashido's personality is a force of nature. Good thing because she's a little lacking in intellect. I love the side characters so much. Kendo is so sensible and a natural leader. She's my favorite from class 1-B.
And this is why the school related arcs are also important and it can't just be plot related all the time. Sure, we could've gotten exposition and the students revealing their new powers in an actual fight, but it would've gotten to the point of it being way too convenient that every time they get in trouble they just pull out their new power, which would seem like bad writing. Here we get reveals in a relatively low stakes environment, but still exciting enough for us to get pumped.
If the shadow guy and tokoyami teamed up they would be a broken night time duo. And even in sunlight the shadow guy can hide in dark shadow and move with him.
Guys I don't know if you'll ever see this comment but you guys are some of the best reactions to episodes to My Hero Academia, I can't wait until you watch S7.
8:30 yeah no, having Aoyama in your team is a pretty big disadvantage when you think about it. This guy has literally no close combat skill, has an admittedly powerful quirk but with a heavy drawback for him, and his ONLY battle strategy is shooting lasers. Plus, if you look back, the series loves to remind us how Aoyama kinda sucks combat wise, from his loses, to his ranking among his classmates, to even the few wins he has which were either extremely close or mostly thanks to others. Even in this team, every other member has at least some decent strategies and have used their quirks in more creative ways. And yes, that does include Hagakure because refracting light to blind your enemies is a creative use of her quirk, unlike Aoyama who barely does anything new with his. So yeah, Aoyama is not all you need.
19:22 I remember thinking that we were going to see Tokoyami in this form but with wings. When I saw how it actually turned out I was so dissapointed lmao
I've been watching since the Avatar days, and it's so cool to see Montana evolve over the course of the channel. I have to admit, when watching with friends who don't consume a lot of cartoon media, it's always a little frustrating to go through the learning curve of cartoon and anime comprehension, and while it sounds corny, it really is a skill to be able to decipher quick shots and body language in different styles of animation, as well as keep up with the sheer amount of information being directed at you with no prior experience with power systems and the like. Between that and going from a borderline language barrier to throwing out terms like "broken" and "overpowered," and just the way she reacts to some of the fanservice shots, it's really interesting to watch. I always wondered when the random boob-shots and moaning stopped phasing me, but now I get to watch someone slowly get used to it in real time (it's still cringe, and I don't condone it), but it's cool to see how instead of groaning and rolling her eyes and not being able to pay attention to the context of the scene due to the crassness of the shot, it's a quick "really," and while the former reaction is definitely warranted, the latter is definitely less jarring when watching reaction content. It doesn't take me out of it as much and her and Kenny's growth is for sure the reason I'm still watching! Keep up the great work!!!
i havent really been focusing near the beginning because LOOK AT RUEEEE 3:10 SHES BEEN LIKE THAT FOR LIKE 5 MINUTES SHES SO CUTE FDGSFJZAGSDKFEUSGUBVSBVSA
Everytime I learn about a Class B quirk I’m left wondering how they passed the entrance exam. Like did the mushrooms destroy the robots? The dark guy took them to a shadow and got inside?

This is gonna be lit but I started watching mha cause of their reactions and now I just realized I have passed then in episodes watched and I CNAT believe it lol
For all the "RA RA SUPERHEROES OMG DONT EVERYBODY NUT ALL AT ONCE" hero worship, and just how... frustrating & overbearing it can be.. I gotta say, I really enjoy how they portrayed the _difference_ between classes A & B. Ours is "the class that survived the mass shooting". Them being so serious in training, makes complete sense. Like kirishima. If his hardening had failed during his.. work study knife-fight, he'd have been stuck like a pig & left to bleed out. It'd then make total sense if he went up against a blade wielder in training, that he'd try to incapacitate them as quickly as possible, first. Or that, in general, he'd be wary of that kind of danger. He knows just how close to death he has to put himself now, and isn't gonna overlook that anymore. It's not just some 'student body president outranks the principal', 'playing card games for the fate of the world' anime trope, where everything has to be on the line for everything, no matter how small. I mean, except for monoma. Dude has _issues._
No they aren't, their first semester ended. Japan school years begin in the beginning of spring and then have a short summer break, then come back for the fall and end in Winter.
If you watch the second half of season 6(mild spoliers ahead) Bakugo actually mentions that they can't be moved up to their 2nd year because of the events taking place during that arc. But in all honesty, it is ridiculous how all of the events of the past 6 seasons happened in a single year.
Midnight is just as punny and dorky about her hero theme as all of the other heroes… someone needs to tell her sex puns aren’t appropriate coming from an on-duty highschool teacher, especially not at the expense of the students or other teachers. I love her dearly but Jesus Christ

Out of all the “extras” at the school Tokoyami is by far my favourite
The poor reception for the second half of the season made me forget how much care was put into this arc, so many cool moments from start to finish.
Montana, Remember that they are teens..Let them say stupid sh*t like "We have a fated destiny" simply because they have similar power lmao
Guys I don't know if you'll ever see this comment but you guys are some of the best reactions to episodes to My Hero Academia, I can't wait until you watch S7.
"Midnight Inuendo counter: please stop".
Funny.
18:00 not him gaslighting her 😭
How was he gaslighting her? :0
Even using his quirk to disrupt the shadows, Momo had to TELL him to do that. He didn't even think of that on his own.
Look at you, trolling your wife about Tokoyami flying.
"We're the same!" Its fun to relate to each other idk lol
In fairness to the kite debate, if the kite is big enough, it's called a hang glider & can carry people through the air.
Happy Pride to my Twinklers
Happy Pride!! Because we all "Can't Stop Twinkling!!"
If I take a snake into my hand holding it up and it wiggles around and snaps at other people it still cant fly
But I mean....based on Kenny's definition, Tokoyami STILL isn't flying 🤔😂
I might’ve missed it being mentioned but just in case u recognize Hawks voice actor he also voices Hunter from the owl house!
6:21 imo quirks are the only thing preventing a robot uprising
19:22 I remember thinking that we were going to see Tokoyami in this form but with wings. When I saw how it actually turned out I was so dissapointed lmao
Superhero Kenny!
Quirk: Gaslighting
A show that I think you guys would really enjoy is Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts
I love seeing the cats in the reactions!!
“Gotcha!”
Kenny says hes not flying but then immediately says kuroiro is flying around shadows when he isnt even airbourse. Hes zipping around skating through darkness even.
Im with montana on this one. 😂😂
Me too because he literally flies in like an episode
Eraser Head can affect more than one person same for Shinso.
the hype for season 6 bro... y'all aren't ready for the war arc 💀💀
Here’s my first impression, Hawks is the definition of s m o o t h
Expert gaslighting
Now he can fly lmaooo
pleaseee post jujutsu kaiser more often I beg of you, keep up the good work
15:40, maybe it's just for entertainment
We need a channel-wide “Ackshually counter” because man sometimes you guys get lost in the nerdge so much 😂
There's a reason I don't like the hero called "Hawks"
What are your plans for Season 7?
Like Sloshed from season 4 lol
How far ahead has Kenny watched? Has he finished watching season 6 already?
Yes, he's already watched up to Season 6.
Why they give this good animation for a training arc? Wth
Cats.
Kite man is a dc villain that flies using a kite try again kenny
She's clearly not familiar with chunnibyou lol
their 1st year ended with the final exam arc in episode 34, their in their 2nd year in this season
No they aren't, their first semester ended. Japan school years begin in the beginning of spring and then have a short summer break, then come back for the fall and end in Winter.
Incorrect. As far as the anime has gotten, Class 1-A and 1-B are still in their first year.
If you watch the second half of season 6(mild spoliers ahead) Bakugo actually mentions that they can't be moved up to their 2nd year because of the events taking place during that arc.
But in all honesty, it is ridiculous how all of the events of the past 6 seasons happened in a single year.
When are you watching the New demon slayer episodes?
Is the English dub out?
Oh... I think not
@@LooomerBoomer yeah they only watch dubbed. So we'll have to wait until then
Let’s gooooooooo
You need to watch demon slayers new season and episode!
Midnight is just as punny and dorky about her hero theme as all of the other heroes… someone needs to tell her sex puns aren’t appropriate coming from an on-duty highschool teacher, especially not at the expense of the students or other teachers. I love her dearly but Jesus Christ
Hes weird like that
Call me a sourpuss, but my initial reaction to flying tokiyami was "wow that looks tacky" I actually cringed a bit.
I also don’t like the way it looks much but the power itself is sick, I just autocorrect it in my mind lol
