  • In todays video we talk about what it's like to own a 911 Gseries and why you should or should not buy one. We stall the car out in traffic, get some gas, and of course get it off the pavement. I want to give you the ownership experience and reasons why I bought my 1976 Porsche 911 G-body.

This guy gave me a headache. I owned and drove a bunch of these cars; they were always a blast and super reliable.

So I'm olds but last year I bought a 78 G body targa, number 200 in the series. My first 911. I have a couple of 944s but they are not the same. You totally can not be on your phone while driving these cars. They require your total attention and that is what is great about them. No they are not that fast but that is not the point. It is the experience. I'm happy I am not the only one with the parking brake light stuck on!

I love this, not too many younger generation people into classics like this. I’ve been a die hard Porsche fan since my teens and time to get started on owning one.

I love G bodies and I would buy one in a heartbeat but the second hand prices are still ludacris. Side note I could see why you were doing when you stalled. But when coming a stop shift into neutral and let the clutch out. Then shift back into first when you are ready to pull away. This will save your clutch which is a rather pricey job on 911s. Also Porsches have really tall gears especially if it's a 4 speed so give it a little more gas then you think you would need. It won't be as smooth at first but you will get a feel for it in time.

Great video. Never any shame when an old car acts up, whether from ‘user error’ or otherwise. Keep doing what you’re doing. I did not buy a 89 911 when I was 27. I’m now in my 50s and will choose my 85 Carrera every chance I get. Glad you’re driving it earlier (in life) rather than later. Cheers!

Thank you for sharing your older Porsche experience. "When i was your age" i had an older 944 Turbo that kept me broke (repairs & speeding tickets), but driving it was fun and made great memories.

Hi, i want to start with a big thank you, for driving and sharing your Porsche and your thoughts. I think it is important for the future of older Porsche and car enthusiast that new generation comes in and get in touch with them. So you are doing a important and a god job of helping with spreading the passion for old cars. We that want thes old cars to live on with oss that want to keep driving them on the road need all the support we can get, so thanks again and keep up the great work you do.

I have a 77’ euro spec that I inherited from my dad. Currently just doing some basic work with the fluids to get it on the road again, then it’s suspension bushings and stuff like that.
