Sir i m from india and i have done mtech , ur explaination is amazing, please make more videos similar to these test and if possible please make videos on highway testing materials test and building material, thank u professor.
I want to ask a question.I have calculated Fs from Michalowski’s (2002) 1.875 and I have calculated Fs=2.047 from slope stability program. What is the reason of this difference?
Geotechnical Engineering, Principles & Practices, 2nd Ed, Coduto, Yeung, & Kitch, 2010. There is an international edition which is reasonably priced. ISBN: 978013236868. Don’t buy a copy of the first edition.
at 3:24 , did you assume "sigma z" is more than "sigma x"?. I mean that is it possible that the given values of normal stress and shear stress make a loci of points of a circle whose centre is not on the zero-tension(horizontal axis) line?
Your delivery process is amazing.
Thank you very much Professor.

God bless you Prof. Kitch for explaining this so clearly!
Great content! Can u post the solution to this practice problem?
THANKS!
Thank youuuuu
I wish you were my geotech professor back then😢
very good webcast thx
thank you
Thank you
is there any lecture on unsaturated soil mechanics?

please can i get a link to buy the book, its not in my school's library and the bookshop said it's out of print
THANKS
What is the name of the textbook you are using sir? if Anyone knows, please tell me. Thanks!

And also that Tau-x-z = Tau-z-x ?
Is tau defined in radians or degrees?
Neither. Tau is a shear stress the units are force over area, e.g. kPa or psi.
