Heads up, I did forget to turn on Subtitles but I have been told what I missed, the World Between Worlds is super trippy in talking about things that haven't even happen yet!! Also as always plz not spoilers! 😁
I forgot you haven't seen all the movies... After you do, come back to The World Between Worlds and watch it again, with subtitles on! It was wild for us to hear all the oh so familiar voices
You really need to ready/ watch the books and even games of Star Wars Legends/ The Old Republic. It’s all canon and explained most elements of the Force. @benspiller.
26:53 "Hera, for that boy, there is nothing I would not do" This scene has stuck with me for years! When I first watched it was expecting Hondo to make a joke or undermine what he just said. But no, he was being 100% genuine! And I think this symbolizes the arc Hondo's been on this series. Yeah, he's still pirate who will be motivated by credits, but his time with Ezra and the crew have given him a cause to believe in. If that's not character growth, idk what is!
This was also a hard day at the office for Ahsoka too. She fought 3 inquisitors, Maul, Vader and Sideous all in less than a day. If Paul's didn't want her dead before, he definitely does now
Welcome to the World Between Worlds. Seemingly only accessable to those deemed worthy of entering. It allows access to the most important events thoughout the Star Wars timeline, and naturally, those events can be manipulated. Ahsoka would've been killed by Vader if Ezra didn't pull her out. That final strike was meant to chop her in half like a sausage. Ahsoka teaches Ezra his most important lesson. Letting go. Its the final thing for him to learn as a padawan. The ability to let go of the things he values and instead, choose to honor them. Palpatine spent decades studying the Sith Arts and practices. It makes sense that he found a ritual that grants him temporary access to the World Between Worlds. He can't enter directly though, and thats what he wants Ezra for. Ladies and Gentlemen, may I have your attention- we have Hondo development. From "You lied to me? I could not be prouder to "For that boy, there was nothing I would not do." Ezra's win against Rukh is probably his most impressive 1v1 fight in the series so far. Well done to him. He didn't even get disarmed like Kanan did. Wish he got more though since when you analyze his progress, it becomes obvious that he can beat most Inquisitors by now. False Surrender is a war crime. Unless the good guys do it. Then its perfectly fine.😂
By the time Ahsoka passed through the doorway again, enough minutes had passed that she landed in the ruins of the Malachor Temple, as the explosion had dwindled. Not time travel, she merely stepped into another "location" until the place was clear. Tying back to Season 2, she proceeded to walk into the darkness of the planet to hide. Ahsoka had no idea when Future Ezra was from, just that she wasn't present, so Ahsoka knew she had to stay way, and without a way off Malachor, Ahsoka was absent from the original films.
The World Between Worlds, a pocket where all time and spaces flows concurrently. A place of knowledge, it was essentially an observatory created by the Mortis Gods. When the Jedi discovered that area, they sensed a strong connection to the force, not knowing what was held within, and built a Temple into the land. When Ezra sealed the gateway, the entirety of the structure was destroyed, reverting the land to what it was before the Mortis Gods came there.
Alright, I’ll start with what the World Between Worlds is based on what we know from Filoni. Many will say that it is used for time travel, but that's a mistake. This theory that many consider true was created after the sequels - the theory that the World Between Worlds will be used for a complete retcon and erasure of the sequels and the creation of a separate new timeline. The logic behind it? Ignore the sequels and save our beloved characters in a new continuity new timeline. (And to emphasize my point, I’ll just say that the first 10 seconds of Episode IX threw the meaning of all the previous films and The Clone Wars into the trash. That’s why fans hoped Filoni, seeing what was happening, was creating a literal alternate universe-a way for us to escape.) What Filoni actually told us is that the World Between Worlds is a place of knowledge, a massive Force library where you can learn everything. And that’s all the official explanation we have from the director at this point. Now, onto my observations and deeper analysis: We're talking about something connected to Mortis. Clone Wars showed us that Mortis exists outside of time (or that time functions differently there). The same seems to be true here. Additionally, it appears that gaining access to this knowledge requires more than just touching the handprint on the mural. Ezra was most likely able to enter because Morai allowed him to. This ties into the Will of the Force. Ezra’s presence there serves one purpose-to save Ahsoka. Ahsoka and Morai are spiritually linked through the Daughter. It’s possible that this connection suggests Ahsoka holds some greater significance in the Force, perhaps a destiny of some kind. Maybe Ahsoka’s death would mean Morai’s death, and the owl cannot allow that to happen. The amount of speculation around this idea is endless. And again, this was not time travel-it was a "relocation" of Ahsoka to Mortis, just like in Clone Wars. If she had stepped through a different “portal,” then we could argue it was time travel, and I’d question whether it was possible and if it would have any catastrophic consequences. Now, Palpatine: Palpatine used an illusion to manipulate Ezra, creating the image of Kanan’s death to tempt Ezra into saving him. If Ezra had done so, Sidious would have gained access to the World Between Worlds. When that failed, Palpatine resorted to direct confrontation and attempted to force Ezra into helping him. If Palpatine had managed to enter, he could have gained infinite knowledge, immortality, and possibly even more-perhaps the power of the Mortis Gods, eternity, and potentially the ability to control time itself. That’s all speculation, but one thing is certain: he would have gained something immensely powerful. However, when he reaches through the portal, we see that he, unlike Ezra, is not welcome there. Palpatine couldn’t enter on his own because the Force itself would have destroyed him. For a similar example, let’s look at Valkorion. Valkorion consumed the life force of entire planets, so compared to him, Palpatine is kinda amateur. He was immortal and eternal, but when he was lured into a trap by a Jedi Grand Master acting in accordance with the Will of the Force, the Force literally erased his soul from existence. I believe the same fate would have awaited Palpatine here. That’s why he tried to use Ezra-someone who had already been granted access and was aligned with the Will of the Force.
14:46 Not really, he used the fire from the ritual spot. He took/grabbed that with the force, he can't just make fire from his hands. 31:12 😂 Like Kanan...(too soon?)
Something that I haven't seen many people confirm is that Ahsoka actually would have died if not for Ezra, and his actions in the World Between Worlds. The reason it works is because both her and Vader were doomed by their fight, so breaking through time and space doesn't cause many problems there (like it would if he tried to save Kanan). Such a cool concept imho, and solidifying Ahsoka's undying nature once again. I am very much looking forward to the Finale!!! It's been an awesome journey rewatching this show with you!
You're basically hearing every single movie the clone wars t v animated show... Even scenes from rogue one movie all in one episode.. If you turn on close caption you see who's saying what... There's a whole breakdown on youtube if you wanna look it up. No it's not time travel but it is related to mortis.. Basically the round doorways are Jedi temples the triangle doorways are sith temples... There's a lot more to what we're seeing..
For Ahsoka, she didn't have a ship to contact anyone to let them know she was alive. So she would have had to wait for someone else to go to Malacore to get a lift off. She went to the planet on the Phantom. She would have let Rex know she was alive once she could, but that would be after she was finally able to get off of the planet.
This episode can be looked at as the culmination of the Ezra and Anakin comparisons. Both wanted to save a loved one, only one had a support system on how to handle it properly.
From the very beginning, Anakin had issues with the "letting go". Understandable early on but it never really took through all the Jedi training later, either...
The World Between Worlds is such an interesting thing of the force. I love how they didn't use it to undermine Kanan's death but instead use it to teach Ezra his final lesson, "Let go..." Beautiful Edit: I also feel that the same fear of the wolves that Pryce has is definetelty the same fear Ben had for them at the start. I was also kinda surprised Ben didn't get fooled by the Rider "betrayal". Ig he's too smart for stuff like that lol.
From Vader's perspective, swung his saber down at Ahsoka's head, with the floor and ceiling collapsing simultaneously as the area exploded. Vader didn't see Ahsoka disappear, and would report to Palpatine that she was lost with the Temple.
Darth sidi9us Was actually on correcant. Jedi temple. Round door way.. And that's The real movie emperor voice actor actor whatever you wanna call him it's awesome. Hearing him say both their names. Big deal for fans
We saw in Clone Wars that Palpatine could do rituals to do crazy things, like when he and Dooku messed with Yoda was it? I can't recall exactly. Either way Palpatine is the strongest living Sith Lord around so it's no surprise he can do these things.
You can hear many voices here, from: The Prequels The Originals The Clone Wars Rogue One Episode 7 So basically everything that was released at the time
Disney: So we've done illusions, a Sith Temple, the Bendu, and wolves that can teleport. How crazier can we possibly get- Rebels: *Proceeds to introduce time travel*
Disney didn't. Lucas is responsible for WBW's. It's what the Mortis trio protected. Go back and watch that arc. The wolves are in the constellations. That's Filoni. No time travel. He also introduced Night Sisters and the Bardottins. Someone wasn't paying attention.
Obi-wan was spot on "It binds the galaxy together". Space and time exist in (and by) the force. That's would explain why force sensitives have precog abilities or why the Purrgils and Loth-wolves seem to travel through hyperspace. Ezra feeling something is going to happen just before being pulled from hyperspace in the episode Stealth Strike, this "detail" always bug me. That's why i love Rebels so much, this show give back some needed mysticism in the force far from the cold and scientific midichlorians. Best Star Wars ever. Edit : Anyone catch the Rock Paper Scissor of the Son Daughter Father ? Watch the hands ;)
The reason Palpatine was able to enter was because of the other missing door. When Ezra opened the door, the other that had been removed opened as well. Palpatine then began using his sith sorcery again, in an attempt for make Ezra "pull" him in too.
Remember Obi Wan's words about the force: "It surrounds us, penetrates us, it *binds the galaxy together".* We don't know what the World Between Worlds is... but you're seeing one of the many aspects of the force: it is the thread that connects every single thing in the galaxy.
In S1, Ezra seemed to have a deep connection to the Loth cats of Lothal, perhaps its all animals on Lothal, as both the Loth cats, loth wolfs and ezra al from lothal
13:26 Palpatine was using Sith magik, you might remember that he also used it during the Clone Wars with Dooku when they both tried to kill Yoda as he was completing his training to become a force ghost, same thing basically, and the reason he can do it by himself now is likely down to the fact the dark side has never been as strong as it is now under his reign as Emperor.
Also you seen this place before back in season one and then again in season two is Ezra became more and more powerful he began to explore more and more of this place. The first time he was here it looked like an empty room full of stars. The second time he could actually commune with Yoda while he’s back on Dagobah. And now he can actually explore the temple in it’s true form.
The world between worlds are what Father, Son and Daughter were protecting. Ahsoka was brought back to life on Mortis, by the Daughters life force. The convor owl is the Daughters avatar. We saw the same thing on Mortis. The wolves were in the constellations there. It's for the Chosen one to control. He's busy at the moment though.
If you go back to the mortis arc, when Anakin must control the son and daughter to save ahsoka and Obi-Wan, the sky goes dark and looks like the world between worlds. It is a blink and you miss it moment, there is a loth wolf in the sky behind the Son.
Kevin Kiner's scores for "A World Between Worlds" and "A Fool's Hope" are outstanding. The end credit music for "A World Between Worlds" is especially beautiful and choral music accompanying the loth-wolves battle elevates the action.
I know you know this. You’ve mentioned it before that you’ve heard of the temple long buried beneath the Jedi temple on capital. That is full of Sith magics. The emperor is using Sith alchemy and magic to force open the portal. This scene is very reminiscent of an episode. That was never filmed of TCW where Ahsoka has to go, Bendito, temple ruins, and actually fight. The emperor through a door wall mad, neither can actually see who they were fighting. This is as close to that scene as we’re going to get.
"Truly wonderful the mind of a child is": Yoda from ep2/AotC. "What is this place", "a conduit through which the entire force-(I think he said 'flows')": Obi-Wan to Qui-Gon in Mortis from The Clone Wars. "Just when you think you understand the force, you find out how little you actually know": Ahsoka in Rebels I think. "Train yourself to let go, or everything you fear to lose": Yoda to Anakin in ep.3/RotS. "-you seem to be letting it all go": Obi-Wan to Ezra earlier in this season just before Maul appeared. "I won't let him lose his way, not like I did": Kanan obviously, idk which season though. "It's an energy field created by all living things, it surrounds us, penetrates us, and binds the galaxy together": Obi-Wan to Luke in ep.4/ANH. "But I will finish...what you started": from something that hasn't been watched yet, so I won't say where from. "The belonging you seek is not behind you. It is ahead": another quote from something that hasn't been watched yet. "This is our most desperate hour": Leia from ep.4/ANH (idk if she also said "help me Obi-Wan Kenobi. You're my only hope" too though). "Obi-Wan once thought as you do. You don't know the power, of the dark side": Vader to Luke in ep.6/RotJ. "Battles leave scars": Kanan talking about Rex I think. There's more quotes from the World Between Worlds that I missed, I think, but that's most of them. 4:31 he was definitely being sarcastic there. Kanan's end was not meaningless! I don't like that guy. 😂 "You can't save your master, and I can't save mine", then we hear Hera's gut-wrenching "Kanan!" scream...man why do they have to drive the knife of sadness in further? 😭😭 I didn't actually notice that little detail with Palpatine's fire. As soon as the connection between it and Ezra was cut, his hand burned, like the only reason that he was able to be in there was he was physically attached to someone that went through an actual gateway, not just a mental-to-physical connection. 17:03 "The force, by its nature can be changed", the Son from the Mortis arc. "He's gone, isn't he? Like, really gone.", no Hera, don't say that! He's still alive through the force. 😭 That episode was one of my favorites. Chaotic, mysterious, everything I could've asked for. "Juiper base", little callback to the creature they caught in S2 on that planet. I think that's how it was spelled. The more I think about Wolffe, I really want to know how he turned from the Empire, because we saw he was still serving them in The Bad Batch. Hopefully another future series covers that. "For that boy, there is nothing I would not do", Hondo's the best. 28:17 that does kind of sound like Hondo's voice actor. I remember there was someone that sounded exactly like Zeb's voice actor in The Bad Batch S3 too. I had no idea how obvious it was that Ryder betraying the Rebels was fake the whole time. 31:04 I love Chopper. 😂 31:46 love Hondo too. 😂 33:34 I love Rex, still has that soldier in him. 34:04 had some major Han Solo vibes with the music. Force theme played a few times in this and the last episode too. The scene with Ezra and the wolves was such a good scene.
I assumed Ahsoka was marooned on Malachor, ironically just like Maul was, which is why she is not around until rescued. Since she was presumed dead, no one would think to go back to Malachor until warned 2 years later that she might be alive.
Kanan was is not a Force ghost. Did he try and send a model plane? Yes, but not in the way you would think. They were two aspects of the force Qui Gon Jin talked about this back in episode one. The living force, which is what we’ve experienced through pretty much all the franchise thus far, and the cosmic force the cosmic force is very different feel the esoteric powers, and what allows people to interact with the living, while being dead. George Lucas’s treatment for the sequel trilogy after Disney bought it was going to explore this concept. We all know that that was a pipe dream that was never going to come true and what we got is a far inferior product. The wall between worlds is essentially a temple dedicated to the cosmic force.
Ahsoka must have been trapped on Malachor for a long time and maybe that's why she wasn't present when the empire fell? Because I don't think there was any ship left.
He uses Sith alchemy like he does in The Clone Wars, Palpatine was never able to compete with the Nightsisters, Mother Talzin specifically, which is why he had them all wiped out in an ambush. He knew if he could never learn their magick, he’d have to destroy them. Mother Talzin almost beat Palpatine and Dooku at the same time if it weren’t for Grievous backstabbing her and Talzin being distracted by saving Maul.
Hi Ben! Hope you are well! 5:25 - It's not exactly "time travel"... the World Between Worlds is.... hard to describe, even for me. But there are "access points", where events can be altered, to a point. Confusing, I know. 6:20 - Remember, that owl, Morai, is the embodiment of "the daughter"... from the Mortis Gods, after she gave her life to save Ahsoka. 10:00 - Yes. That is why we saw Ahsoka walking away after the Sith temple exploded. We all wondered how she could have survived that, now we know. Future Ezra pulled her out of the event. 11:15 - You understand paradoxes very well. You're right, he can't create a paradox. But that's a lesson he's about to learn. 13:20 - The Dark Side of The Force is a pathway to many abilities, some consider to be...... unnatural. Basically, Palpatine has created a portal using the Dark Side/Sith Alchemy. But not one he himself can pass through. 15:45 - Ahsoka has to return to the same timeline that she was pulled from, but the explosion is over. Ezra has to return through the one he himself entered. 16:40 - Leave it to Chopper to find and steal a machine that he can murder Imperials with.
Since Ezra is a jedi, he can practically waltz in to the world between worlds while Ahsoka has a little harder of a time since she's not a "true" jedi. All of those portals open to either jedi temples or sith temples across the galaxy. So why would this 1 single portal open right where Kanan died? It didnt because it was a fake. The portal Palpatine was in was for the sith tenple under the former jedi temple of Coruscant. He cant get in unless he's pulled in like Ahsoka was so Palps was waiting on the other sode of the door hoping Ezra would "save Kanan" and pull him through. Its even more disturbing when he says, "perhaps i can" that first word is in Kanans voice further indicating that it was a lie. This is what the Wolves warned Kanan about before he died or at least part of the reason as the force forsaw Ezra doing something and it had to get him to learn the hardest lesson a jedi can learn. Even if it was real, he made the right choice. The World Between Worlds is pretty confusing UT it works like this. Time in there moves as fast as time outside. And Ahsoka had to stay there because she was never a part of Lucas' original movies so she's there studying and doing God knows what else because she knows she's not the one to save Anakin. She tried and knows he can be saved just not by her. The end of that episode reminded me of a part of the Bible even though I'm not one for religion but Kanan knowing his mission was complete and his lesson to Ezra finished ran off into what looks like a Heavan of sorts. Similar to how Christ vanished once his mission to man was done as the sun rose for him one last time. Palpatine also wants Ezra alive because he sees how strong the dark side is in Ezra. Not just with the world between worlds but also activating the sith temple and unlocking a sith holocron shows that Ezra is EXTREMELY POWERFUL in the dark side. He unlocked a holocron who would have refused to give its knowledge to LITERALLY anyone else like Maul, Vader or even Palpatine because it saw the power in Ezra and Palpatine believes that Ezra could possibly even surpass Vader as a new student
We don't actually know WHEN Ashoka portaled back to Malachor, or when/how she got off the planet. So there are plenty of explanations for her not being around during Rebels and the Original Trillogy.
At the end of season 2, I told you that you would see how Ahsoka survived before this series is over, and now you finally got there. The World between Worlds is a pretty crazy place, you will see it again if you keep going through the star wars series, but not in this series.
Welcome to the world between worlds. The world between worlds was created as a plot device so if Lucasfilm ever decided to retroactively remove the sequel trilogy from Canon or say that it was within a different timeline they could essentially do this. The world between worlds is essentially a way for Ahsoka to be removed from the timeline due to the events of the original trilogy, from this point up until the Mandoverse she’s basically living a life of seclusion and isolation. The world between worlds itself is basically a place between the living force and the cosmic force. Morai IS the daughter, although Ahsoka essentially has taken her place as Anakin has with the father (the one to keep the balance between light and dark). Dave Filoni has a thing for wolves so that’s where the whole wolf motif comes from. Hopefully this is answered some of your questions Ben, without me getting into spoilers or anything of that nature.
LMAO, they did not create the WBW as a plot device to remove the Sequel Trilogy from Canon. That is wild and just something created by hate watching grifters. Only TFA had been released at that point and it was a huge success.
I don't want to explain things with Ahsoka as there are things you haven't seen yet. Or maybe you have finished on Patreon Rebels. Will talk about it at the end of Rebels.
ep 14 is to put it as simple as possible time travel. if you look at it from ashoka's perspective she has had a hell of a day from starting it off fighting 3 inquitors to mail, then to vader while having to come to terms with anakin being vader in the same fight and then having to face palaptine pretty much back to back with barely a moments rest. as ashoka said the force can allow those who've died to influence the living as we saw with the wolf dume and to a degree qui-gon when he was on mortis with obi-wan and again when helping yoda learn how to be a force ghost. ashoka like majority of the surviving jedi gave up on anakin accepting that there was no turning back for him. which to be fair is something vader himself admits to believing in ROTJ. in fact the only ones who believe anakin was still there deep down were padme, luke and qui-gon. when qui-gon died and became one with the force he was able to see many possible futures. due to either his faith or connection to anakin he believed he would due the right thing even after order 66. but due to it always being in motion and thus possible to change when obi-wan became a force ghost that future qui-gon saw he didn't believe in which is why in ROTJ he tells luke he vader can't be turned and to be ready to kill him. when he does become anakin again he kind of out of guilt teaches anakin how to become a force ghost. obi-wan fumbled a lot with anakin. even more so since he thinks he turned solely for his lust for power instead of fear and love. if he had either asked him why he turned he maybe might have been able bring him back. instead as we see in rebels he has completely abandoned anakin and the idea that he is the chosen one instead believing it will luke who will do what anakin couldn't. this episode also gives us a reason as to why vader stomps on obi-wan's cloak after killing him in ANH. he clearly though he had killed ashoka and likely told palpatine as much then later on palatine sees her alive and well and probably tells him so he can feel more rage fueling the darkside, so now when he kills obi-wan he paranoid and stomping on the cloak to be sure he's dead. Ep15 we see old friends reunite. they clearly need price alive otherwise they would have let the wolves take her out when she landed. if it was so easy to liberate a planet just by taking out their imperial repressive on the planet many planets would have been liberated especially ones that had Saw on them. beyond his collateral damnage in form of civilian when attacking imperials he would also attack imperial puppets or elected imperial supporters. which the imperials have used to spread the idea that the rebels are bad because they are attacking not just puppets but elected officals who the planets have elected without interference from the empire which makes the rebellion look bad. we get so many good lines form hondo in this last arc. the wolf pack fighting with wolf i mean the jokes write themselves at that point. the title of the episode "a fools hope" is named after a quote form Gandalf and while kind of subtle its one of two major nods to the Lord of rings series. the title is also a nod to pryce hoping that ryder was genuine in helping her which might save her form execution only for her hope to be dashed away when the wolves came out.
With your crisis of not knowing what to watch between the end of this and Andor season 2, I think it's safe to watch the newest show Skeleton Crew as it only has a few references to things you've already seen and it's just a fun show to watch. It takes place in 9 ABY or about 10 years after this season of Rebels and afterwards you could watch some deleted Clone Wars scenes/episodes, the Old Republic cutscenes as were previously mentioned, and Andor season 1 right as the new season starts.
Skeleton Crew doesn't feel like Star Wars at all. It's like Lost in Space, crossed with the Goonies. Frankly there is no good live action Star Wars left.
ah yes ep 14 a simple way to understand it is time travel. honestly if you think about it ashoka has had a hell of a day from her POV since it started with her fighting 3 inquisitors fight vader having to come to terms that vader is Anakin and then fight the emperor almost entirely back to back. she only briefly has a moment where she actually comes to terms that vader and anakin are one and the same. just like obi-wan and the other surviving jedi who learn they're the same she gave up on him which to be fair up until ROJ vader did as well. really padme and luke were the only ones who believed anakin was still in there and tired to actually bring him back. when qui-gon died and joined the force he was able to see multiple futures but its likely due to either his faith in Anakin or connection to him that he saw the one where he does the right thing eventually and believed in that one even after order 66. while even obi-wan after becoming a force ghost still doesn't think he can be redeemed and still tells like to kill him. beyond not really doing a good job at trying to understand why anakin turned (he just assumes is a lust for power ) if he did learn it was out of love and fear he might have been able to convince him maybe but as far as obi-wan is concerned it's power and nothing else which he tells luke as msuch. if anything this shows why vader was stomping on kenobi's cloak in ANH. like from vader's perspective he swung at her and she wasn't there thought he killed her. then when he managed to get back he probably explained he killed her thinking he actually did to palpatine and now palpatine see's her again alive and tells vader it so now when he tried to kill obi-wan he's more paranoid and stomps on his cloak to be sure he actually dead. as to why ashoka never contacted them after she got back. its probably that she's worried what might happen since she has an idea of what would happen if they interfere just from the idea of interfering with kanan's death. since she likely knows the rebels mostly think she dead thanks to ezra's reaction to her and doesn't want to take a chance on creating a problem that could mirror or be worst then what could have happened if they did interfere with kanan's death. so she decided wait until she could come back without causing a possible paradox. the problem of corse is that she has no ship since maul stole vaders and vader most likely used one of the inquisitors ships. so she either had to wait until either ezra could talk about ashoka being alive and getting someone to send a ship to help, wait for a ship to just stop by chance or find mauls broken ship and work on that which probably took a while if she found it . ep 16 ah yes a gathering of old friends. if cutting the imperial governor out of the picture would mean an easy liberation Saw would have been considered a great liberator since while he does target military insulations he does also aim for political leaders or puppets when he can and is one of the reasons why the rebellion has tried to distance its self from him along with the collateral damage he does on the civilian population. Hondo has probably some of my favorite lines in this arc. wolf got his wolf pack again. a shame that some of them were responsible for killing plo but at least we know wolf wasn't among them. he was among the ground forces when order 66 happened so he wasn't among the ones who killed plo.
Welp I forgot about this Hondo appearance. You know what, maybe it's best I just say maybe he comes around again I can't freaking remember clearly when he last appearance is lol. I know after this season we never see him again in any other content.
I don't think there is a correct interpretation here, but I can share some of my own thoughts on how this place makes sense and what role it plays. What is this place? The World between Worlds: It appears to be a place that is very similar to mortis. Not visually but in the way it works. Time works differently (remember that on Mortis, time didn't pass for people outside the portal). Force powers get amplified. The force is very strong here. (remember that Mortis even allowed Qui Gon to appear before he was strong enough to appear in the normal Galaxy) This is no place in space but something like a force hub. In my interpretation, it is a hub where the force itself (as its own entity) can connect paths and influence the galaxy. If the force was a person, it would be this place from where they go from portal to portal, and form connections (without the people behind the portal realizing), but this is how the cosmic force can communicate with the living force. Maybe those portals are only used for the most impactful events for the galgaxy, where the Jedi or whoever is following the will of the force need to feel that the force is with them. Maybe they feel the force being with them, because it is just behind this invisible window, watching them and trying to arange the pieces to achieve balance. Maybe this is also the place that the force ghosts eventually use to connect with the people they choose. Since star wars was created, force ghosts have allways felt like a contradiction to many people. Why can't they allways help our heroes, when they appear to be so allpowerfull? It might be because they are limited by these pathways that the force has created for them. Through some portals, they can step. Others are may just be windows. Portal on Lothal: I don't think that the Jedi created this portal. I think that the force created the poral and the Jedi found, studied and maybe used it to connect with the force. Lothal seems to be littered with those portals, since even the force sensitive animal live is able to use their powers for travelling. Maybe, a long time in the past, there was some ancient planet surrounding event, where maybe ancient Sith and Jedi waged a war, that caused the force to create those portals for the most important cornerstones. Maybe the ancient Jedi who found this portal became especially pure through using it. Maybe they wanted to have some Jedi to have such a pure connection to the force that they directly worked together with the force itself to keep the balance and managed to somehow use the World between worlds to create Mortis. Maybe these Jedi where the ones who became the Mortis Gods and went to this place to protect it. This could be some kind of origin sotry for the Mortis Gods. Or maybe it was a peace offering after this ancient war: Send in the purest Sith and the purest Jedi and someone inbetween to make them play by the rules. Let them finish this war for us in the place where the force is strongest. If there is supposed to be balance then surely, this would be the place where it gets decided and if there is supposed to be chaos, then the Sith will win. This will be the ultimate place to decide this once and for all.
We are the Ones who guard the power. The beginning. The middle. And the end. Daughter to Anakin Skywalker It's not like Mortis. It is Mortis. Check out the portals in the Father's monastery. The Loth wolves in the constellations.
That’s not real fire. Think of it as a physical representation of Palpatine’s evil. Not everything needs to be explained not everything can be explained. Inside the war between worlds, nothing truly is what it seems.
I had to watch a little further in your video before I began my rant. Darth Vader killed her. He cleaved her in half. The reason why we saw her at the very end of the episode is because of what Ezra did here. He altered time bye rescuing Ashoka. The reason why Mary is in the world between water because it’s not a living bird in the most strictest sense it’s still the daughter in physical form. When Ahsoka talks about it, you can hear the daughters voice. Did you ever wonder why Asoka’s bird keeps appearing without needing to be on her spaceship? It’s because the bird could transcend time and space. It is a literal God in physical form. Don’t nowhere near as powerful know because she died. The bird just appears.
@ Before Ezra pulled her out, Vader landed the killing blow. We see the aftermath of this event in season 2 Vader leaving not knowing how the hell she got away. So it like Schrodinger’s Jedi.
Oh, they did And it was a very eventful dream come true And the lessons provided a lot of closure. To be honest, I had a theory about why the Emperor wanted it. I think it’s probably because he’s afraid he could lose his power and maybe because his apprentice could break free from his shackles which there’s a strength strength perhaps enough to challenge. Which is why the Emperor wants this and well you’re gonna get the idea soon enough brother
The world between worlds is not quiet time travel in the sense you don’t really travel to that point in space time, but you were always there - without even realising it in the first place. It’s a close loop so you can’t use it to change anything. Also this is completely unrelated to Rebels but in the first episode of Korra someone wrongly told you that Sokka failed all of his relationships and died alone - that’s never mentioned in any of the shows, the comics, or by anyone of the crew - we only know he died childless, but that doesn't mean he didn’t live a long life with Suki. Hopefully you don’t mind me randomly dropping an Avatar fact on a Star Wars video out of the blue - it’s just for 4 months you have believed Sokka’s life was worse than it was, and that makes me sad to an embarrassing degree.
@@luischavarin8304 By definition, legends isn't canon
18:07 Ahsoka knew she’d have to live in isolation until Ezra went back and saved her or else she could risk messing up the timeline.
26:53 "Hera, for that boy, there is nothing I would not do"
This scene has stuck with me for years!
One of my favorite lines in all of Star Wars. Everybody loves Ezra and knows he would do the same for them. Even Hondo.
Fun fact. Hondo named a ship Katuni.
Yeah, that line kinda broke me
Completely agree, this line was such a shock from Hondo but really shows off how far he's come and what an effect Ezra has had on him.
Ezra accepting he can't save Kanan at the gateway, is the first time since Ezra learned his parents died that his own theme was playing.
Him realising he lost another parent too.
How crazy is this? All in one day, Ahsoka faced Maul, Vader and palps.
She is amazing.
I could not be prouder to "For that boy, there was nothing I would not do."
Ezra's win against Rukh is probably his most impressive 1v1 fight in the series so far. Well done to him. He didn't even get disarmed like Kanan did. Wish he got more though since when you analyze his progress, it becomes obvious that he can beat most Inquisitors by now.
False Surrender is a war crime. Unless the good guys do it. Then its perfectly fine.😂
Good catch on the Force powers being amplified, just like on Mortis.
Palpatine, Ahsoka, and Ezra's abilities were going wild in there.
By stopping Palpatine from accessing The World Between Worlds, Ezra unknowingly prevented Palpatine from learning that he will die by Anakin's hands.
Such a good point, if he made his way into this place it would have easily been the end of everything and Palpatine would have won overwhelmingly.
And then....she uses the wrecked ships to build a communicator to a certain driod.
Course the White Loth-wolf specifically focused on Pryce and Rukh during the wolf pack attack.
This is such a weird place but it makes so much sense considering the Mortis connection, so cool to think they looked over the galaxy through it.
That’s why fans hoped Filoni, seeing what was happening, was creating a literal alternate universe-a way for us to escape.)
What Filoni actually told us is that the World Between Worlds is a place of knowledge, a massive Force library where you can learn everything.
And that’s all the official explanation we have from the director at this point.
Now, onto my observations and deeper analysis:
We're talking about something connected to Mortis.
Now, Palpatine:
Palpatine used an illusion to manipulate Ezra, creating the image of Kanan’s death to tempt Ezra into saving him.
Mori is the sister, it/she is part of the force. Don't look to deeply into it.
Exactly, Ezra had a father figure to help him. If Anakin had Qui Gon, things would be different.
The World Between Worlds is such an interesting thing of the force.
I love how they didn't use it to undermine Kanan's death but instead use it to teach Ezra his final lesson, "Let go..."
Beautiful
Edit: I also feel that the same fear of the wolves that Pryce has is definetelty the same fear Ben had for them at the start.
Sure he did. The third time he saw someone vanish. He keeps things hidden from his Master.
Darth sidi9us Was actually on correcant.
Jedi temple. Round door way.. And that's The real movie emperor voice actor actor whatever you wanna call him it's awesome. Hearing him say both their names. Big deal for fans
Last thing Vader heard Ahsoka say was that she wouldn't leave him again, only for him to not notice she saved him from the Temple exploding.
Naw. Live...or die.😂
Even after everything Ahsoka will always fight to save her master!
The son from the Mortis arc was able to show Anakin his future so manipulating time is not too foreign to Star Wars.
We saw in Clone Wars that Palpatine could do rituals to do crazy things, like when he and Dooku messed with Yoda was it? I can't recall exactly. Either way Palpatine is the strongest living Sith Lord around so it's no surprise he can do these things.
He learned magic from Mother Talzin, before she gave him her son.
@@0LadyV0 uh, what?

So basically everything that was released at the time
It's a pity they didn't add Revan because it was the time of the conclusion of his story
Disney: So we've done illusions, a Sith Temple, the Bendu, and wolves that can teleport. How crazier can we possibly get-
Rebels: *Proceeds to introduce time travel*
The World Between Worlds
The reason Palpatine was able to enter was because of the other missing door.
When Ezra opened the door, the other that had been removed opened as well. Palpatine then began using his sith sorcery again, in an attempt for make Ezra "pull" him in too.
Palps learned his magic from Mother Talzin. It's a variation on Night Sister magic.
When Yoda is teaching Luke, he speaks of seeing the future and the past. I feel when meditating, jedi can touch that world but not fully enter.
Ever notice the Owl Morai was often on whatever planet Ashoka was on, even though it did not actually travel WITH Ashoka?
Now we know how.
"And I've only been struck..(starts counting on fingers)... I have done this many times."
19:34 I believe a part of Kanan was in the wolf , guiding Ezra, giving a final lesson. And now he appeared to say one final goodbye.
The owl named Mori...Mori is latin for "To die." Part of the phrase Memento Mori, which means "Remember you must die."
It’s Morai which is a reference to Moirai, the Greek fates
oh that was in a series of unfortunate events
Pryce trying to repeat Kanan by destroying the Crawler.
Even the same sound effect was used when the engines were destroyed.
"You can't save your master, and I can't save mine."
Seeing the wolf's eyes, come up with Ezra just standing there. Chills
Episode 13 is my personal favourite from season 4, that's how force should be, mysterious, mystical and unknown.
"You can't save your master, and I can't save mine", then we hear Hera's gut-wrenching "Kanan!" scream...man why do they have to drive the knife of sadness in further? 😭😭
I didn't actually notice that little detail with Palpatine's fire.
That episode was one of my favorites.
31:46 love Hondo too. 😂
33:34 I love Rex, still has that soldier in him.
34:04 had some major Han Solo vibes with the music. Force theme played a few times in this and the last episode too.
The scene with Ezra and the wolves was such a good scene.
The first hint that Ryder was tricking Pryce was him saying he'd give her Ezra and Hera.
Hera wasn't on Lothal during that.
I assumed Ahsoka was marooned on Malachor, ironically just like Maul was, which is why she is not around until rescued. Since she was presumed dead, no one would think to go back to Malachor until warned 2 years later that she might be alive.
She never died because Ezra saved her, you can't use the WBW to change time.
She called a certain droid. Realized Vader wasn't for her to fight. And then she met....
Think of poor Ashoka. She had to fight Mail, Vader, and the emperor All in one day while dealing with learning Anakin being Vader…
Super happy I found your channel and reliving these episodes through your eyes. What a blast, thanks!
Through death, life comes back. Welcome back Ahsoka Tano.
16:10 YES THANK YOU FINALLY SOMEONES ACKNOWLEDGES THIS!!! 😢
The finale is essentially two episodes since it's double the length of the usual episodes.
"No one's ever really gone" 💖
When Rebels is over, it's still safe to watch Andor.
Season 1 is a closed story, and takes place a few months before the first Episode of Rebels.
Ahsoka must have been trapped on Malachor for a long time and maybe that's why she wasn't present when the empire fell? Because I don't think there was any ship left.
9:38- Actually Ahsoka and bird are the embodiment of the Daughter
14:30 to me it always seemed like he uses the nightsisters magic to c into this world.
Thanks Ben. I love these last few episode of Rebels. Looking forward to your reaction to the conclusion but also sad it is ending.
The World Between Worlds.
Episode 13 is my favorite, Filoni is a genius, imo, he had it all planned!
You need special Training to be a force ghost.. You remember those episodes of the clone wars...lol
Ahsoka has been dead this entire time to us and the rebels it's been 2 years to Ahsoka it's instantaneous
I cannot wait to see you tackle the other shows. the future looks good
The ghost kanan with hera Was just her remembering him it wasn't him as ghost.
ah yes ep 14 a simple way to understand it is time travel. honestly if you think about it ashoka has had a hell of a day from her POV since it started with her fighting 3 inquisitors fight vader having to come to terms that vader is Anakin and then fight the emperor almost entirely back to back. she only briefly has a moment where she actually comes to terms that vader and anakin are one and the same.
just like obi-wan and the other surviving jedi who learn they're the same she gave up on him which to be fair up until ROJ vader did as well. really padme and luke were the only ones who believed anakin was still in there and tired to actually bring him back. when qui-gon died and joined the force he was able to see multiple futures but its likely due to either his faith in Anakin or connection to him that he saw the one where he does the right thing eventually and believed in that one even after order 66. while even obi-wan after becoming a force ghost still doesn't think he can be redeemed and still tells like to kill him. beyond not really doing a good job at trying to understand why anakin turned (he just assumes is a lust for power ) if he did learn it was out of love and fear he might have been able to convince him maybe but as far as obi-wan is concerned it's power and nothing else which he tells luke as msuch.
if anything this shows why vader was stomping on kenobi's cloak in ANH. like from vader's perspective he swung at her and she wasn't there thought he killed her. then when he managed to get back he probably explained he killed her thinking he actually did to palpatine and now palpatine see's her again alive and tells vader it so now when he tried to kill obi-wan he's more paranoid and stomps on his cloak to be sure he actually dead.
as to why ashoka never contacted them after she got back. its probably that she's worried what might happen since she has an idea of what would happen if they interfere just from the idea of interfering with kanan's death. since she likely knows the rebels mostly think she dead thanks to ezra's reaction to her and doesn't want to take a chance on creating a problem that could mirror or be worst then what could have happened if they did interfere with kanan's death. so she decided wait until she could come back without causing a possible paradox. the problem of corse is that she has no ship since maul stole vaders and vader most likely used one of the inquisitors ships. so she either had to wait until either ezra could talk about ashoka being alive and getting someone to send a ship to help, wait for a ship to just stop by chance or find mauls broken ship and work on that which probably took a while if she found it .
ep 16 ah yes a gathering of old friends. if cutting the imperial governor out of the picture would mean an easy liberation Saw would have been considered a great liberator since while he does target military insulations he does also aim for political leaders or puppets when he can and is one of the reasons why the rebellion has tried to distance its self from him along with the collateral damage he does on the civilian population.
(remember that Mortis even allowed Qui Gon to appear before he was strong enough to appear in the normal Galaxy)
This is no place in space but something like a force hub.
Daughter to Anakin Skywalker
It's not like Mortis.
Vader never hit her. He knows he never hit her.
@ Before Ezra pulled her out, Vader landed the killing blow. We see the aftermath of this event in season 2 Vader leaving not knowing how the hell she got away. So it like Schrodinger’s Jedi.
Oh, they did
And it was a very eventful dream come true
And the lessons provided a lot of closure.
Ezra will tell Rex.
Have you seen the original movie star wars?
Reacted to it when I started Star Wars 😁
Ezra bridger and ahsoka tano, mine at last
It feels like your iq jus dropped a lot during episode 13
Time travel would ruin Star Wars imo
Hi
💙
