😂We used to spoon sugar into our cereal too! I didn’t even tell my kids that used to be a thing until they were grown. I didn’t want them getting that notion.

Peanut butter is an essential for me which I usually have at breakfast so I stay out of it the rest of the day. I used sprouted bread for toast, natural PB and then slice berries on top ( like one strawberry or 3-4 blackberries)
Natural PB - I make my own. 1 jar of unsalted roasted peanuts ( I find Aldis had the best price $2,19 currently) Put in food processor. Add tsp of salt then process on high for about 4 mins. Done. Cheap, no additives and yummy. ( I really struggle with the 'savory' breakfast... I too added a teaspoon of sugar to my plain cereals as a kid!)

Any processed cereal is really bad - eat whole grains for breakfast (steel cut oats, buckwheat groats, are both great).

❤ I got the Glucose Revolution book and it is great! My daughter and I were already eating SO MUCH better than we were, but diabetes runs on both my side and my husband’s side of the family. We have implemented the strategies in the book. We don’t have a way to monitor our blood glucose but anything to help prevent all the problems sugar causes is worth it!! ❤

I'm a yolk piercer too. I can't stand runny eggs.
I have eaten cereal pretty much every day my whole life. Plenty of sugary ones growing up but now I just have Corn Flakes sprinkled with cinnamon in plant-based milk. It's not the best but it's what my stomach tolerates well when I first wake up.

When my kids were little, I let them have ice cream for breakfast. Less sugar than the cereal!

Sautéed onions, mushrooms, spinach and pork sausage over fresh arugula greens is my current breakfast. Arugula is my favorite green because I can eat it without a dressing.

Muffins are cake in a diferent shape. I am now eating yams and buckwheat groats as my carbs. Also I have switched to buckwheat groats instead of brown rice (as it is even healthier).

Haha! I always told my kids that muffins were named when a mom shoved a hunk of cake in her mouth and when her kids saw she ate something... And asked what she ate.... With a mouthful, responded "nothin" which in turn sounded like muffin!😂 Who knows.

I am a diabetic. I have a terrible time with my blood sugar. However, six weeks ago, I was prescribed Ozempic. I am able to watch my blood sugar better because I was also prescribed the monitor. Anyway, for breakfast most days, I fix scrambled eggs with a form of potato, bacon bits (minimal), spinach and a bit of shredded cheese. It lasts me about eight hours. Not the best but better than cereal which sends the BS through the roof!

I started listening to the Audio book on Friday 5/24...2 days after my checkup and 7 tubes of blood for labs to confirm hormones (last 28 months have increased peri symptoms) and other stuff and 44th birthday. Started implementing it the F/PF/CS order as much as possible. At a Memorial Day BBQ yesterday, I had a small slice of Costco's chocolate cake (only eating like 1/3 the icing) and did NOT feel like I needed a nap... Even for my 1.5 hour drive home. My BF is type 2 diabetic, so I'm hoping to help level his spikes out too... At least be a good influence. Thank you SO much for sharing the books!
Iust say, I was looking forward to getting some Bob's Iron from Costco in Washington State... It is made in Vancouver BC, and not sold here. 😭 Hoping to find it somewhere... Maybe I'll have to venture up your way a bit... (I'm 2 hours south of Vancouver). Anyway, I appreciate you!!❤
