  • On the last day of our trip to Coffee Bay. We decided to start the morning off fishing for Shad. However after a local lost a Big Kob the plans changed and my brother and I both put out live baits in search of the big fish that roam these waters.

Very challenging to get on and off Queens Rock. Well done.
Also the river has become very shallow over the years. Easy to cross. Continue sharing your fun with us Can't wait for the next one😂

Yes its not for the faint hearted, fishing that high up, especially when the shad are biting😂😂. We were there over the spring tide, on the high tides you would need to swim to get across but on the lows it was really shallow

Top stuff Bru, atleast for fishermen like me who would love to go to Transkei but don't have a 4x4 we getting to see all the epic spots on your videos👍 I'm sure in the time you back you been hitting the Sandy's and other summer non eds😉 look forward for the next upload to see what you have in store since some of your spots like ushaka has been happening lately🤙

Shot for the kind words bru, means alot🙏🏼 you'll be surprised what vehicles can go there though. We did the trip once in a sandero😂 but unfortunately you are limited to which spots you can fish.... I've been fishing hard for non Ed's for most of the time we've been back but only recently did I get a few fish when as you said it Ushaka was happening😅. I hope you also climbed in on the action and got some good fish bru🦈

Hi Suren, I'm actually Mikhail. Bevan is my brother in law but he also appears in many of my videos. We normally go in June so I'm sure you should get some decent fish! The shad can be wild at Queens at times and those big Transkei shad give a really good fight. If you can get a Kara, try dropping it in the same spot. Most times there if you don't get a bite within a few minutes you'd rather give up. All the best for your trip bru, safe travels.

Thanks bru, yeah I would have loved to have gotten another kob there as they can sometimes be wild in that hole. If you go to the channel wallpaper, the Kob that I'm holding was hooked in that same spot many years ago😅

Ey bru. My spot for big winter kob was always Mtwalume. Im obviously not nine -tu-tu on what it's like now but early morning Blacktail and shad at the mouth and evenings for those big Kob, caught on Nondi's and them bottoms with sard and prawns for monster stumpies, honeycomb skate and sand-sharks

I've only fished that area a few times bru, I think we only caught karo's from the rock and a few shad. How was the safety when you used to fish there?

@@FishingSouthAfrica We used to fish the evening/early early tide shifts so always in the dark to start. We paid the Induna to keep an eye on the car. Half immediately and half after, including a few fish. We were never accosted or had any break ins.

That’s actually cheap considering you’re fishing a good spot. The worst thing is come back after a good session and find your car broken into or worse not there at all

As @sircamelot said it's fishing😂 Unfortunately, we can't catch fish all the time but I thought I'd share the spot for any one going to that area and what's possible to do there
