Great review! Very informative. Was looking for a video of what my msp-ams in-flight experience is going to look like this time around on Sunday. Appreciate the trip report!
Great review! 👍👍 Was looking for this exact content for my future trip to Paris on this (Delta) aircraft. Looks like the upgrade is worth the price. Thanks for sharing!
Hello and Happy New Year! I am flying delta in three weeks to Ghana Africa main cabin and I am soooo excited! This will be my first time flying and first time leaving the country. Thanks for this great video!
So glad to see the gluten free options! My husband and I are flying to Italy next month and I was already stressing about what I’ll be able to eat on the flight. Thank you!
Thanks for the video. Curious, could you get a good idea of the legroom for the bulkhead seats in Comfort + on this flight? Would you have selected bulkhead? Sometimes it’s a little too cramped for me on domestic flights.
I didn't get a good look at the bulkhead row, sorry. I generally don't go for the bulkhead since there isn't any floor storage and I've had a couple that really are cramped. It seems to vary among the various aircraft. You might check seatguru.com - they may have some data for you. Good luck!
I flew DTW to LHR, in October, a lot of the main cabon experience was already being implemented. Dtw to ams is the only European route that delta employs the a350 (one flight a day the other 3 are a330s) The rest of the a350s are for Asia.
I got an upgrade to Comfort plus for my trip from DTW to India , picked the 30A both ways from DTW to AMS so I have nobody in front and can lean into the window seat to sleep. Upgrade cost 12,500 miles each way. Unfortunately the connecting partner airline KLM from AMS to BOM does not offer any upgrade with Delta skymiles that i know of. Pity , cos it's an 8+ hr flight too. Any tips for KLM connections?
That's awesome that you were able to get an upgrade and have a comfortable seat for your long flight! It's always nice to have some extra legroom and the ability to lean into the window. As for the KLM connection, unfortunately, I don't have any specific tips since I've only 1 KLM flight in my history, but I hope it goes smoothly for you!
I only had a backpack, but I think you could have one carry-on (most people have a roll-aboard suitcase for this) and a personal item. I think the personal item must be able to fit under the seat in front of you.
I travel from St. Louis to London every year. Booked for Feb. 2023. So tired of economy class so I switched to Comfort Plus for this trip. But first row behind business/first class on all flights. Boeing 767 to Heathrow and Airbus A330 on return. I actually prefer the A330 seats for some reason. And yes, I am fairly impressed with Delta's food on international flights. But I always got a hot cloth towel toward end of flight. Wonder why you got paper?
Just booked an international flight with a comfort plus seat for Christmas for the first time. The seats and headrests look comfortable enough, did you have any comments on comfort, including angle of incline? You mentioned being able to sleep for 4 hours which isn't bad!
Comfort was fine, if you can sleep on the plane it will be good. The additional recline in comfort plus allows several different resting positions. Have a great trip!
I will be taking the same flight in another month and was wondering if the main cabin exit seat has windows… or is it just the typical peep hole window on some air craft. I will be flying on a Airbus 330-300.
Gosh, I'm not really sure...I seem to recall it being a normal window, but the A330 doesn't really have all that big of windows, IMO. Not like the A350 or dreamliner. I don't think its a peephole though. Have a great trip!
We took off from Minneapolis around 8pm. I've gotten at least one meal on every international flight I've taken, regardless of the departure time. If you check your reservation trip details at Delta.com it will indicate in the trip details what food to expect: meal, snack, etc. When in doubt, I've had good luck reaching out to the airlines on twitter, and they all have 800 numbers to call as well.
I try to avoid that, I'm a bit paranoid, and I'm usually carrying expensive camera gear. I'd rather not have someone tossing my bag around trying to squeeze their oversized bag in on top of my camera bag. Either under the seat or right above me.
Have you been generally happy with your GF meals on Delta? I've only tried it on one round trip flight. Business class meal was horrible while the main class was wonderful. Trying to figure out whether to take my chances on a premium select to Europe.
I've generally been happy with them. They've gotten a bit repetitious with all the domestic first I've flown over the last few years. My GF meal in comfort plus on this particular flight was really good. As I said in the trip report, it didn't look good, I would take it again. I can't grade an international business or premium select meal - haven't had that yet...Unfortunate how things happen sometimes, I was planning on a business select flight to South Korea this April but I've put it off...hopefully this virus stuff calms down and I can do that sooner rather than later.
Not really an easy question given all the various seats available (economy, plus, first class) and various airplanes. First class is always going to be the most comfy on any airline with the comfort level decreasing as you sit further to the back.
"Is it worth it" is a question that I can't answer for you. I've flown enough to know that the further forward I can sit the better for me. Everyone has a different value proposition...comfort plus gets you early boarding, extra legroom, pillow, blanket, and headphones. Is that worth the upgrade cost? On this flight, the upgrade only cost me $26 so an easy yes. I hope that helps!
I would probably do it. I don't sleep well in economy and with the extra room I can use my backpack as a leg-rest and kinda make my seat a recliner. Get's me a little more sleep. That would be my "why" at least.
I think comfort plus is in the main cabin. No service distinction between them, only slightly more leg room. Premium Select is an upgrade from Comfort + and main cabin.
Ugh… I didn’t get first class seats … prices were just outrageous so I gambled on being to upgrade for a cheaper price and none are available 😢. Stuck in comfort + Anyway, good review…. got a good feel for upcoming experience
Demand is really high right now post pandemic. Everyone is ready to go somewhere! I need to do an updated trip like this as this was in 2019 right before IT happened. I'd love it if you could drop me a line after your trip to see how this compared to your experience: trizity@gmail.com.
I'm still pissed at Delta not offering meals for people that are lactose intolerant. Yes, you can get meals for other intolerancies, but when you're lactose intolerant, you're basically screwed. So I just have to fly KLM to and from the US.
A place mat, really? What possible utility can that have on an aircraft other than being something else to juggle while trying to eat. It's silly for Delta, or any airline for that matter, to provide these faux luxury touches.
Agreed, but this trip was in 2019 before covid. Haven't had a chance to go back and see the current state, but I do know on my last couple of Delta domestic "first" flights, there was no cloth placemat like there was pre-covid. I'm guessing this is no longer done.

That would make sense, like a soft open at a hotel. Get everything figured out before it's "live".
No, Delta is adding MSP-AMS on a350s in April or May , not sure when tho exactly

What was your hand luggage allowance ?

Have a great trip! Hopefully you find comfort plus an upgrade for the flight.
Does comfort + give you sky priority boarding ?
I believe comfort plus boards after first class and before the sky priority passengers.

Can I ask how tall you are? I just booked from NYC to Buenos Aires, and upgraded to comfort plus. I’m 6’3 and hoping I’ll be comfortable
5'10"...at 6'3" id upgrade to the most room you can afford, or an exit row...

@@TrizityTraveling thank You very much
Do they(delta) provide complimentary headphones in international main cabin?
I seem to remember the FA coming around with ear buds.
What time was your flight? Do you know if they stop serving dinner after a certain time?
We took off from Minneapolis around 8pm. I've gotten at least one meal on every international flight I've taken, regardless of the departure time.

I’m thinking of booking this flight how long should I plan my layover in Atlanta I need to clear customs as a Dutch citizen
I'd give yourself no less than 2 hours. 3 hours would probably be better, since I've never cleared in Atlanta. Have a great trip!
If we bring our own neck pillow, does it have to fit in the carry on or personal item ?
I've always clipped my pillow on my backpack and never been questioned. I think they "look the other way" and don't count the pillow.
How wide is the seat
Seat guru lists it at 18 inches wide.
Does your carry on sometimes go in an area that’s not right above your assigned seat. Worried of someone else walking off with it.
I try to avoid that, I'm a bit paranoid, and I'm usually carrying expensive camera gear. I'd rather not have someone tossing my bag around trying to squeeze their oversized bag in on top of my camera bag. Either under the seat or right above me.
Delta Comfort+ seats have dedicated storage space above you for your carry on if that is a concern.

Is delta more comfy than United or American ? Hreat video :)
Not really an easy question given all the various seats available (economy, plus, first class) and various airplanes. First class is always going to be the most comfy on any airline with the comfort level decreasing as you sit further to the back.
United!!! It’s separated from main cabin and only a few seats for comfort plus! It’s very nice!
Was Amsterdam your final destination?
It was. Had a great time, but I wish I had gone when it was a bit warmer. Here's what we did: ruclips.net/video/WafoSqL0q5Y/видео.html
@@TrizityTraveling On the way back you took KLM Boeing 747-400 via LAX.
@@Ahuntsicspotter Correct. So glad I did now that they were retired!

thumb down all the video did was complain. lost me when you said godzilla was LAME
King of the monsters was LAME...Godzilla vs Kong was AMAZING...loved it! Must be different times or something...
I thought this was for main cabin but good video though

What is a “Norm”? I would’ve preferred the cinnamon roll.
a "norm" is a regular person without food allergies...not me unfortunately.
its all you can drink with comfort plus
Comfort plus is not main cabin
