Great bat rep guys. Ive always been a fan of the Rangers and Grey Company LL. I collected the models along with some hobbits 10+ years ago but have never played them. You guys got any tips from your (limited 😂) experience with them?
From the 2 games so far, they've been quite swingy with the dice rolls. I think my tips would be- get them into combat if the scenario needs you to, don't shoot for the sake of shooting, and don't be afraid to spend might on the important stuff- you've got plenty, so conservation is less important than doing what needs to be done- Onod
@@thehobbybreakfastshow I get the swingy'ness of their game play, winning key roll offs and their F4 probably means a lot of tied fights. For those reasons I'm guessing you either win hard or lose hard.
What 'trigger' are you looking for when deciding to hang back and shoot, or pack it in and go to combat?
Also would you say the factions Rangers and Grey Company LL start strong when they have the Might, but crumple as soon as that Might runs out?
Yeah, I think armies with easy F5 access are going to suck too!
I guess the trigger depends a bit. In this game, I had to dive in to stop the Uruks swamping the objective, and breaking before I fought my way through. In the other game on the channel with my Grey Company, I think I got it wrong though, and left it too late.
I haven't really run out of might to be honest- You've got so much, and with Aragorn's free point, I think you'd have to be trying to waste it to end up running out- you're likely to out might your opponent, so I don't think they'd crumple that hard- Onod

Rolling 6s is the key to victory
Two things:
1.) where did you get that little trap size tester at 20:21, that’s awesome!!
2.) you mentioned at the beginning using Aragorn’s free might to adjust his maelstrom roll, however Aragorn can no longer use the free point of might to come on the board in maelstrom. There is an FAQ stating that you must be on the board to use special rules like that, and people were talking about it on Facebook and I believe Jay confirmed it in the comments to that post. 😢

Ah well, wouldn't be allowed in a tournament- we missed that. Fortunately, we can ignore silly rulings when playing at home
I feel the rangers should get some sort of army bonus or LL buff to boost their shooting. As your warband is always so small. Like reroll to hit or free accuracy or something. Or two shots 🤷♂️
Perhaps- Aragorn getting a free Shoot/Accuracy alongside his Mighty Hero- similar to what Helm Hammerhand has with his free Combats might be nice- but not a huge deal on S2 bows tbh- Onod
I think if you want stronger shooting you should just play the rangers army

Doesn’t thryden have a rule where each of his wounds does D3 wounds??
He has Mighty Blow special rule, meaning that each unsaved Fate caused 2 wounds.
Lurtz being flash killed and losing his might didn’t help either
