This video series has really made me think. I have never fully adapted to my smartphone and often have no idea where it even is 😅. But other parts of my life have gotten away from me recently and I’ve fallen into my own addictions (mostly food, some shopping!). It has been inspiring watching you change things up in your life - it is time I do the same in mine!
So agree with you, we’re living in a global dystopia and few people realize it! Let’s take back our lives and our world!

In the US cellphone service seems insanely expensive. In Europe you get a cheap cellphone plan for 4,99 Euros per month. That includes unlimited calls across Europe plus free text messages plus 5 GB of data.

Agree with @aplaceofstillness ! I love your series and hope you'll keep it up for awhile. I am not in a place in my life where I want a dumb phone, but there are many things I regularly rethink toward simplicity (as opposed to efficiency) and I enjoy hearing your thought process because it gives me fresh perspectives.
I am curious about your switch to Signal. So, who can you message with it if the people in your life do not use it? I know it has the switch to SMS capability, but then why bother with it at all if that is how you end up connecting with your contacts? I'm asking this bc I would ideally love to be detached from Meta, but I use Android and I use Messenger with all of my people who have it bc of the file sizes I can share for pics/video, etc. I would love to leave FB altogether, but for a couple of groups that I enjoy and you must have an active FB account to use Messenger. My Messenger connections don't feel the same need to separate themselves from it. I mean, they don't *like* it, but aren't willing to jump through the hoops to do something else. And they have their own Messenger contacts too. Anyway, I would love to know how you're managing this. Thanks so much!
1. Regarding music streaming - you know they also change versions of songs (not just cover images... like every time a Nick Cave song gets used in a film the cover image goes all peaky blinders or something but the actual VERSION of the AUDIO... recent Tom Waits albums are all over the place!) 2. Harriet the Spy bag!!!! EEEEEEE!!!!!! 3. I have my search/watch history fully disabled on youtube so it can't recommend me anything at all. Makes it much less compelling and it means I just go to my actual subscriptions tab to see what I literally signed up to see. :P
