There was a secret in this area: if you didn't kill the human knight at the beginning of the game, in the graveyard near the area of Melchiah, once you arrive in the Human Citadel people you encountered, instead of running away or attacking you, they knelt in worship!! Fantastic.
It took me until I was older to realize that actually when I played Soul Reaver again few years ago and since I was little kid and to make it special Soul Reaver is my first video game I played ever and now I'm adult I still love this game alot and I love how something's I didn't know like the humans citadel place that humans are on their final days it's very detail, interesting, and depressing idea
This game was truly ahead of it's time. Huge open world exploration with a reputation system. I know a lot of my love for it will be nostalgia.... but I get friends to play it and they don't have that excuse. They love it too.
The humans’ citadel -- its towering walls and deep moats engineered to keep Nosgoth’s vampire plague at bay. Though the city was well-fortified against vampires, its human architects hadn’t considered a breach by a creature such as myself.
The Slipknot song - XIX samples this, right? Hahaha, it's absolutely the same, just with the tempo slowed down, which makes the sound wobble, and some added arrangements... I find it strange that no one has ever said anything about it
I'm playing the remaster right now and after entering the Human Citadel I just knew the music was somehow familiar... Like this itch I just couldn't scratch, knew it was Slipknot, just couldn't remember the right song. Thank you for aiming me in the right direction! Oh, and now that I think of it, amazing choice of source material by Slipknot. Fits their style perfectly.
You know it makes sense why humanity would seek to destroy the vampires I mean they kidnapped and then placed the curse on the human guardians a necessary evil maybe but was it worth it in the end?
Not only were their children abducted for vampires own gain, but men and women were slaughtered for food. Serafan had enough of their shit and stood up to them, rivaling both their skill and bloodthirst.
The humans were in fact the most beleaguered race in Nosgoth / LOK world they were being messed from 2 sides : the vampires (with some exceptions from the Ancients like Janos Audron who are less malevolent although they too have their own flawed acts) who sees them as nothing but food source like some sort of cattle or poultry while the vampires sworn rivals the Hylden sees them as inferiors only good for exploitative slave labor, some might even wonder how the humans continuously surviived, populate and thrive on such terribly harsh realm were the odds against their chances of survival was 10 to 1 threshold especially the period after the establishment of Kain's vampire empire and the whole land was more likely conquered and dominated by the vampires; it might bee due to a lot certain factors or circumstances that might probably responsible for humans to somehow managed to continuously survive and thrive such as the inherebt arrogance of many of these vampire clans that humans managed to intelligently and skillfully devised ways and means to at least effectively combat them, some of these clans might also been involved in their own political infighting thus weakening and disintegrating any organised means to wholly subjugate the entire human populace, the long periodic events following the casting of Raziel into the Abyss and Kain's absence or disappearence might in concurrence with the corrupted evolution of these vampires ans their clans probably largely contributed to the collapse of any effective organised means for vampires to further threatened the human population of Nosgoth despite the fact that the humans at that period was seemingly in a struggling state for survival with the existence of isolated human citadels as settlements where they can continuously live and thrive more freely fron the fear and harsh terror from the oitside, just my 2 cents thanks ✌
The undercity was going to have a cult that was led by a priestess, But it was cut due to time constraints. So I don’t know if we’ll see it in the remastered version.

Fantastic.
"The Humans didn't consider encountering a creature such as myself"
I always thought it was a nice added detail that if you killed vampires in front of humans, they would start worshipping raziel

That’s what I’m gonna do in the upcoming remaster of Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver.
I remember feeding off the lovely ladies in this area. Good times.
sick fuck!
I always used to enjoy their pitiful tremblings as they begged for mercy

Imagine those humans living in Nosgoth back then, how scared they must have been with the world so perilous. :3
Artemis Arrow Yet the women's fancy dresses told me that they prospered quite well.
+Artemis Arrow Nosgoth "back then"?
+The Psychic Anomoly Back in the fall of Kain's empire and the spiritual decay of Nosgoth. Or the nineties :3 however you want to see it
+Artemis Arrow The events of LOK Soulreaver 1 occured in the future of Nosgoth. the events of the later games happened in the past!
+Artemis Arrow OW MY GOD, I cant imagine that, think, you are not sure if one of that demons will catch you, or if you will be food of any vampire
This theme always gives me goosebumps!
Theme Of Raziēl's Rage
My favorite game still
This is great mix of the variations. I listen to this while playing Kenshi a lot. Great at setting the mood.
If you didn't attack any humans earlier on in the game they liked you
3:51 GOOSEBUMPS AND SHIVERS
Since I’m really excited for the remastered version of Soul Reaver 1 & 2,
I better make sure not to harm the humans in Soul Reaver 1.
Hmmmmm......ooooo.....clone

Some parts of this soundtrack seems to be reused for the sarafan stronghold.
Yup
👥
They farmed humans here.

So I don’t know if we’ll see it in the remastered version.
