I think this is the difference for Queensland. The Queensland team plays for their people. They represent the hardship the state of Queensland have gone through. They represent past present and future players. They represent past players by naming awards to Queenslanders who have played a certain amount of games. They represent their towns by wearing their post codes on their sleeves. All these things create a type culture that the Queenslanders will have for a long time. This is where their passion is built on. Queensland players wants to represent their suburbs, their state, their community and their family. That’s why they want to win.

The passion and respect for the jersey is instilled from the time we are able to understand and we are told it is the pinnacle of our careers. NSW men celebrate a ring or representing the green n gold, and that’s ok. But for us Qlders there is no greater honour!

Controversy and politics aside… NSW is now rising as a long awaited worthy opponent, QLD need to rise to the challenge and prove themselves worthy of the shield once again.
