When we visited Malaga, we took a ferry from Gibraltar to Tangier, Morocco on the northern coast of Africa for a day trip. It was about 1.5 hours on the ferry.
How much time did you spend in Tangier? From Gibraltar or La Linea I can see that being a nice day trip with some quality time in Morocco, but I wouldn’t recommend it from Malaga.
@DavidGTravels why not from Malaga, and how far is Gibraltar from Malaga? We are flying into Malaga, but actually headed on to Nerja to meet friends. TY
@@livinlovinlife1712 Going to Morocco as a day trip from Malaga will give you almost no time actually in Morocco. You can do it with or without a tour operator, but Morocco really deserves much more time than that. I'd recommend at least one night if visiting Tangier from Malaga, but you'd probably want even more time than that.
Shhhhh, why you gotta go and put one of my summer destinations on blast, David? Seriously though, thanks for the great video. I plan on landing in Malaga and spending a couple of days then going to Granada for a few days. Just a question, how horrible is it in the summer? (July/August), I can’t go any other time this year. Any recs on an area to stay in for hotels? Gracias ☺️
😅 Andalucía is serrrriously hot in the summer, be prepared. Definitely don’t let the heat stop you though, but I’d probably limit my time in Granada to a few days of the trip to give plenty of time for the beach. For places to stay in Malaga, the historic center is a good area to look in, but prices for a nice place are a little high in summer. My last trip was in winter, but I redeemed around 60k Hilton points to stay at the Hilton Garden Inn that’s right on the metro line. But still, it was far from the historic center and if I hadn’t had specific plans with a fair amount of driving I would have looked closer to the center and still on a transport line. Thanks for the questions by the way, this helps me know what you and other subscribers would like to see in future guide/destination videos.
Thanks for the response and info. As far as beach goes, I’ll be heading to Greece for a few weeks after Spain, so it’s cool. I was super nervous about the heat in Southern Spain since I’ve never visited, but it couldn’t be worse than SoCal where I live. Grenada looks like a dreamscape, can’t wait to see it. Love your content and travel hacking vids as well…😊

Thanks a bunch, sounds like a good plan for Spain if you’re ready for some heat.
