Thanks for this video. I was not sure if you were using video lights while filming with the iphone. Can you share some info how the iphone 15 compares to the GoPro with video lights. Also, another drawback with the iphone deals with managing the memory on your phone. You have to back it up somewhere since you can't insert a new memory card like you can with other camera systems.

Thanks for your comment buddy. I use lights with my iPhone setup when filming close up and mid shots. Not really on wide angle scenes as the lights will not be powerful enough to reach my object and light up the entire scene anyways. For wide angle I usually use Divevolks red filter to gain more color and better contrast.
I don't find the backup process to be too challenging. As long as you get an iPhone model with 512GB or more of memory, you'll easily be able to record for several days before you run out of space. I just back up all my daily footage to an external hard drive connected to my Macbook each night. It's the same procedure I do with any other camera I use and it works just fine for me.

Matthias, Thank you so much for your videos. I am going on a bucket list dive to Chuuk Lagoon this fall. I am NOT a professional video person and have never even used an underwater camera. But for this trip, I want some pics of ships. From watching your videos, my iPhone 15 and the Divevolk cover would be a great combination. Any other suggestions?

It’s either iPhone or a GoPro

Thanks for your comment mate. The iPhone/Divevolk combination is definitely what I would recommend. I mean you already have the phone so the only thing you'll need is the smartphone housing, and I would recommend a red filter and wide angle conversion lens. Maybe a small video light to get some better colors inside the wrecks could be useful too.
Other than that an action cam could be a valid option to. Like a GoPro or a DJI Osmo Action. But the photos with any of the existing action cams will just not be as good as with the iPhone 15.
So yes, I would recommend the iPhone 15/Divevolk combination.
      I hope this helps?

Hi Matthias, between the Iphone 15 Pro or Pro Max and Olympus Tg6 or 7, which one you recommend base on the small, simple , easy to carry perspective? Thanks

This is difficult to say as I'm not familiar with your personal situation, experience and goals. Generally speaking if you already have an iPhone (whether that is the 15 Pro or the 15 Pro Max - or any other recent model), I would recommend you work with that and get yourself a Divevolk Seatouch 4 Max housing for it. It's more cost effective than getting a complete new underwater camera setup. Also you already know how to work the iPhones camera app and have all footage instantly available on your phone for sharing. Using your phone also means you don't need to bring an extra camera on your trips, you simply use your smartphone which you have with you anyways.
I favor the 15 Pro Max, because you get the x5 telephoto lens, which is great for taking stunning macro shots. 😍

Would the divevolk housing / iPhone touchscreen work when wearing dry gloves?

I had this issue a while back, and divevolk do actually sell a cotton ‘finger cot’ for using the screen underwater. 😮

Thanks buddy. It depends a little on the material of your dry gloves. Mine are rubber gloves and work just fine. But if you have difficulties, you can always use the "finger cot" that @bottomtimemedia mentioned.
