You’ve just added Customer Fields to your Shopify store, now let us show you around, and introduce the suite of tools at your disposal to help you collect and manage customer data.
From the app’s dashboard, you can quickly get to customers, forms, data columns, integrations, settings, your account as well as our help widget.
To start, let’s dive into the Forms page.
The forms page allows you to create new forms and manage existing forms. For existing forms you can see form stats, installation status, and more. You can also edit, duplicate, and archive existing forms.
When creating a new form, you’ll be asked to select a pre-made template.
These form templates are just a starting point, you can edit and customize your forms to your heart’s content.
In the “form editor,” we can add additional fields, such as a “birthday” field.
In addition to the form editor you will see additional tabs for rules, form settings (not to be confused with app-level settings), installation and a preview.
Check out our “Forms 101” video series for more information about building the perfect registration form.
Next up is the “customers” page.
This page has a customer directory where you can see a list of customers, filter and save customer segments, import or export customers and view and edit customer details.
Customers can be organized and filtered depending on your needs. For example, if you click on the saved segment called “Review” I can see that we have some pending customers who are waiting for approval.
Note, this only applies to forms using the “account approval” setting.
Customer Fields syncs directly with the customers in your Shopify store, including both standard and custom data. From the customer page in Shopify we can quickly see custom data as pinned metafields.
Let’s jump back into the app and touch on data columns.
Data columns are how we structure and store customer data in the app as well as Shopify metafields. Data columns are automatically created as you customize your form and most shops have no reason to modify them.
Customer Fields also supports integrations with Zapier, Omnisend and other tools. More about integrations is linked in the description.
The app’s settings page allows you access global settings including email notifications, Security (also known as reCaptcha settings), and customer sync settings.
Finally, the help and support tab will give you access to our wide body of help articles, developer documents and friendly support from our US-based Customer Success team via chat and email.
And that concludes our 3-minute tour. Be sure to check out our other videos, and help articles, and welcome to Customer Fields.

Can you app also tag a customer account? Or just utilize metafields?

You can totally tag customer accounts, it's actually one of the best features 😊
