Absolutely Love this Model, and the layout you chose for the cabins. The room at the side of the beds makes such a big difference, and hidden storage everywhere 😂
Wow, congrats on your new boat , dream of a lifetime. Now it will be nerves and lots of feelings learning to sail and maneuver her around. Well done. Looking forward to your adventures and video's.
So great to see the joy on your faces. Your boys are going to have a fantastic upbringing. Beautiful boat and can only imagine the feeling of owning such a lovely home. Fair winds to you all. Thanks for sharing this infectious joy with us.
Thanks for your lovely words, This is a unique lifestyle and our boys, while they dont know any different, are so lucky to grow up travelling the world, experience different cultures and places. thanks for your well wishes, Catherine
@@OceanPeopleSailing I realise it’s a lot of work (and some courage) to put your boat journey on here. And it is such a treat to us to see it. We dream of it too but circs may not play out that way for us. So I want to let you know it’s appreciated, and also it’s a tiny help (hopefully) for the algorithm to spread your vids. @@OceanPeopleSailing We have gone for the Isla. It will only be the two of us plus visitors , our kids have grown up. We also only plan Med Summer cruising for the first few years and then perhaps convert to full time live a-boards then, maybe some remote work. We too have bought through Multi-Hull solutions and first started boat shows on Cats in 2018 so it’s been a long time coming. The AUD is not helping us much as we have to make payment next month.
Love this ep. Quite emotional again the second time around. So happy for you guys and I hope that you are still loving the advanture as much as I imagine you are

Congratulations! Beautiful boat! We are looking for a used Fp Hélia or Astrea to move from our 41’ monohull. We met some Australians that just bought an Elba 45 and we fell in love with these boats. They sail very fast and have beautiful finishing g inside and out! Enjoy your new home! Sv Secondwind
Exciting times ahead! We are so happy with our Fountaine Pajot so I hope you can find one on the market too. The Elba 45 is a really nice boat, moving from a monohull you will definitely notice the comfort level improve , wishing you all the best in your search for your new boat. Hey thanks for your comment,. We did look at the OC tenders, they look amazing and very light. We actually went for a Highfield tender 380 + 30hp engine. I've had four sailboats I never ever enjoyed parting with any one of them. I actually had two at one time. The 40 footer and a 25. I was always sad when I sold each one of them.
Lovely boat, congratulations. I take delivery of mine in April next year. I have RYA Day Skipper and a fair bit of sailing experience yet I am battling to get affordable insurance. Please share how you have managed to insure your boat with somewhat limited experience.
Hi thanks for your message. The RYA courses are great. When we headed back to Australia we actually did a few RYA courses and got our marine radio license for the ICC certification. Hello, I too bought a new Fountaine Pajot that the shipyard delivered to the dealer in September 2023. the boat has several cracking problems and irreparable defects. Are you happy, you don't have too many problems ? thank you in advance for your opinion Stéphane
Oh no that doesn’t sound good. We haven’t had an issues like that , that we’ve found anyway. Only minor warranty work at this stage, and FP have been pretty good so far. Whats the plan going forward for you?

Hi, thanks for your lovely message and for subscribing to our channel. Its definitely a roller coast of emotions but well worth it!! All the best with you getting onto your boat when its your turn. Thanks again, Catherine
To be honest it was mainly about timing. If the Elba was available we may have gone for that, but it would’ve been at least another year wait. We were keen to go and there was 1 Tanna spot available in a reasonable time so we grabbed it!
hi, yes there was the option for a dining table or a coffee table. we chose the dining table so we could eat indoors when the weather wasn't nice outside and having to homeschool the kids we need lots of workable space. And this also creates an extra sleeping space. when we are doing overnight sails this is where the person not on watch sleeps so they are easy to grab if needed. we use the table indoors daily!
@@OceanPeopleSailing I have only ever seen the coffee table in other presentations of the Tanna and I just couldn’t understand why anyone would want that rather than an adjustable dining table.
What a lovely family and gear children! Do Fountaine Pajot still float or they have to be parked on shore in campings? What a terrible service to delay the delivery this way for Oz ppl! Maybe gives you time to get a refund and buy something better? 🤷♂️

no, not yet, we are new sailors so for us we wouldn't be confident in doing that. If it needed to cross an ocean we would either get crew or fly to meet the boat somewhere. That was a plan initially but we've decided to spend a few years in the med, travel a bit, gain some experience, so no ocean crossings for us just yet. thanks for watching, catherine
