Why is there a blank space?
@@emilypumpkin1073 - Because many people, me included, watch on mobile. If you prefer to watch in portrait mode, all the comments (which are white text on black in dark mode) make the screen shine more. Plus they're distracting.
you can use literally any third party youtube viewer and turn the screen off. also, what's the benefit of watching in portrait mode?

And portrait mode can be more convenient in multiple ways.
First off, a full screen video is brighter than a portrait video with black space. Darkness helps fall asleep faster.
Another advantage is the orientation. If I'm laying in bed and leaning the phone against my arm, then both my eyes and the video are sideways, so it feels right. If I had the video full screen, it would either be the wrong way around or I would have to lean it on something taller than my arm to have it the correct way around.
Some videos can also be more convenient in a smaller video, for example visual ASMR that asks you to follow something on screen. You'll have to move your eyes less, so it's less effort when you're trying to sleep.
Lastly, if I start falling asleep, my eyes will close more and more. If the video is smaller, I can watch it longer.
The tapping on beeswax wraps gives me insane tingles. THE BEST.

When I was introduced to ASMR by a friend many years ago she showed me one of your videos. Ever since you‘re one of my favourite ASMR artists because in my eyes you have a very calm and unique, creative way to explore sounds. I especially love your longer vids as it’s really like going on a field trip with you where I immerse myself deeply in all the possible sounds a single trigger can produce. I also like the quality of your visuals and sound a lot.
You among some few other very dedicated and talented ASMR artists who take mostly their time instead of rushing over the triggers helped me a lot through very hard times in my life.
May you be blessed and may knowing that you serve so many people spark joy in your life as well. I appreciate every single video you made and all the effort and work you put in it.
P.S.: I adore bees wax as a trigger and while the beeswax paper is close to heaven, pure bees wax like for making candles in one of your other vids has been full blown paradise. I hope you might do another long one with bees wax some time.

Yes I’m sure he’ll lower his income because Sgt.dirtmouth4409 in the comment section doesn’t like them, and also doesn’t have the common sense to watch the autoplay of the video so they don’t get ads. 🤡
Someone correct me if i'm wrong, but it may not be ASMRSurge's fault. youtube recently changed their policy so that post-roll ads appear at the end of every video regardless of what the creator chooses. I saw other ASMR youtubers petitioning to change this but so far I don't think youtube has changed this policy.

There is no control over that. RUclips advertises on videos. Not the creator. The creator turned off having ads play in the middle of the videos for sake. Don’t want ads? Get RUclips premium
