Thank you so much Palm, this video is very helpful. Believe it or not we are having to pay 2 to 3 times as much for essentials, and a meal delivered through an app around here starts at around 1820 THB!! Rent is around 109300 THB! And prices are still going up! I haven't seen prices like Bangkok's since I was a kid living in a small town. We are looking at Thailand for reasons other than affordability but it definitely helps a lot!

Thank you for your feedback ☺️
Actually for the delivery, it’s free if you order anything including food from 7-11.
Hope you have a great time here, either you plan to live here or travel here 😊

I'm glad I stumbled upon your channel. You provide insights many expats miss out on. I have a couple questions if you don't mind. 1) Do I need to worry about pesticides on vegetables, fruits and all the produce I buy in the grocery stores, either the big name grocery stores or local markets? Are there any health food stores in Thailand? 2) Can I use North American credit cards to pay for grocery (either big grocery stores or local markets), BTS / MRT tickets or monthly pass (membership?), Grab / BOLT rides, water and electricity bills, and AIS Wi-Fi for cellphone? Also, wondering if you would be interested in make videos on how and where to find rental listing to avoid scams, and where and how to find legitimate and trustworthy visa agent to help us get the visa we need, such as the retirement Non O visa after we arrive in Thailand? Thank you and keep up the good work.

A fun & informative video, thank you! Hua Hin was always my favourite place even though it's right up there with the most expensive places in Thailand.

Liked the video, is good to know, that $1000 a month is more than enough for a single person, and you said is less than$915,soo you are left $125 for your side saving just in case something stupid happens along the way, happy to had found you on the suggested bar on youtube, i'm gonna keep on watching your content from now on, regards from Boston MA!!

I still think you can do for less than 1000,if you go to places like rayong ranong chumphon nakhon thammarat, you can find condos for 100-150 dollar+150 food? 300+50 bills 350+10 phone 360 .. motorbike 100? 460 ..medical 50? 510... I think you can do less than 1000 for sure but good video

Commenting for the algorithm, great video very informative thanks for sharing Palm. I think these numbers are accurate for covering only your essentials. If you want to go out, drink beer, hang out at bars, go island hopping, and to do more entertainment wise you will need more. I think for most westeners who want to thrive more than survive they will need at a minimum 1500 and that is the entry point. 1500 will allow them to focus on work during the week and to eat out 3 times per day having 1 western meal every other day. Then saving so they can spend more during the weekend to do something fun without having to over think their budget.

      Thank you so much! ☺️
Couldn’t agree more! I think 1,500 will cover some kind of entertainment for sure.

@@ThaiThoughts No beer nor woman budget, i don't smoke nor drink and i'm not a womanizer, soo, the $1000 a month would be more than enough, for $1,500 i might as well remain here in the U.S, i could live good with $1,500 a month here in Boston!!

Can you do a video of how much is the cost of living for local Thai people. That would be interesting to know. Thank you

A budget is highly personal and depending where and how u live in Thailand and how you adapt and learn Thai.
I have friends that live good calm and comfortable on 800$/month and friends that spends +10000 $ a month in Krung thep and all between that... its all "up to you" 555
And as usual if u sit in bars and engaging with women there the budget can be infinite times 100

I think a single person in Bangkok staying at a one bedroom condo near BTS would need 1500$. 2000$ is better. This is my experience.

Is Khon Kaen expensive? I love your vlogs
I am also worried because I want to live in Thailand but I hear rumours foreigners who stay longer than 6 months will have to pay high tax?
