He knew they were kicking him out. 💯 lucid. The only people didn’t know was the other band members-see “Dark Globe,” and his solo stuff. Sure roommates might’ve dosed his drinks way too often without consent. And don’t forget he was taking mandrax (downers) in copious amounts too, but good on him for not playing same tour songs for the next 50 years as a sell out!
By Dark Globe, I assume you mean Julian Palacios' book ? or the song ? I agree, I can't see Syd playing the same greatest hits song list over and over. He was too much of an artist.
Its awfully considerate an animation from Steve, About a greatly gifted artist whose vision was clear' Whose no longer here 😢' And i never knew the world could be so sh it' And i never knew the world could be so blue! This is incredible! Poor sweet Syddie. Shouldn't it be "CORPORAL Clegg" instead of "Colonel Clegg"? I will adore your Syddie-Toons til' the end of time!
I've noticed you made some changes to the animation, like on that part of "I don't care if the sun don't shine", you removed the little move with the head Syd did. I also noticed you used a new drawing of Syd looking straight during the "band" session (on the 5 members PF photo I mean). Overall, it's great as usual, looking forward to more stuff!
What's truly sad about this is that, not only do you have the band ditching Syd, you have his beloved buddies, the rodent, Lucifer Sam and The Gnome leaving him. After seeing them be such loyal pals (especially the Gnome) in all those other videos (especially The Gnome and Flaming) to see them also waltz off with the band is just... the betrayal. "ET TU, GROMBLE?!" That hit me the most. Bobinski, you think you can do an animation of Syd Barrett going to Heaven, being restored to his former self and reuniting happily with Rick, the Gnome, the cat & rodent (who are apologetic)... perhaps set it to "The Great Gig in the Sky" or something and give this something of a happy ending? I know not everyone believes in an afterlife (especially not the bad itself, at least concerning Roger, David & Nick) but it would still be a nice fantasy or something. Just to see Syd happy again and frolicking with Grimble Gromble, Lucifer & Sam, The Rodent and even Secret Agent Bo Diddley would be great. That said, since "Lucifer Sam" shows Madcap Syd in his Earl's Court flat, maybe his weird little fantasy pals stuck around after all. Finally, what this animation needed was a caricature of David Gilmour. I'd love to see how you'd render that cutie. Perhaps have him show up near the end and waltz off with the band as they do their ersatz "Sgt. Pepper" routine out the door.
I believe in the afterlife. And I had this daydream one time after listening to a number of Syd’s songs that some of us met him there, far into the future, where we found him just sitting by himself on the shore of a calm lake, like maybe he’d just been tossing pebbles into it, not stressed about anything. It was twilight, so everything was bathed in this beautiful sepia blue, very relaxing, but he didn’t have to stay there if he didn’t want to, and neither did anyone else. It was just a comforting place to go, instantaneously, among a trillion trillion places that could be gone to in the eternity and infinity after crossing over. But, somehow, we’d been allowed to find him, less than an atom in a haystack, although how much time really had passed was impossible to say, and it could’ve been a very long time indeed. Of course, all any of us wanted to do was to thank him for his music and art, for his unique point of view, about the value we found in that and how rare it was, and to tell him that while we felt compelled to do this, we had no intention of pestering him, even here. He just sat there listening with a faint smile on his face, and when we’d finished, he laughed and said, “None of that high-minded stuff is a big deal anymore, and it probably never had been, actually. But it was satisfying at the time to do it, and I can say now that I’m glad you enjoyed it. What a weird thing, that all it takes to get comfortable with things is to be dead. For some reason, nobody ever really says anything about that.” And then, after a pause, he really laughed, and so did we, since we were all in the same boat now. Then, for a while, we all sat in the twilight by the lakeside and just talked, with Syd Barrett, about regular, inconsequential things, such like you might talk about with anyone, until finally someone brought out an acoustic guitar, and finally Syd sat and played again, just making it all up as he went along, and it was glorious and perfect, albeit brief. We all wished everyone could’ve heard it with us. People might think a thing like that could never happen, but I’m not one of them. And I think all of us are in for a surprise.
@@SpukiTheLoveKitten75 Thanks. I find it really hard to express the effect Syd Barrett has had on me, but for some reason it’s gradually got stronger as I’ve got older. My appreciation for his musical achievements has too. There’s a lot more there than many realize, including me for a long time. Some creative brains are so finely tuned that you shouldn’t risk disrupting them, but that’s a hard thing to know sometimes, I guess, and the young think they’re immortal. Maybe they are, but not here.
@@jonp3890 Indeed. One thing I feel is true in the hereafter is that, over there, everyone is young. There's no age or sickness, so everyone is themselves at their best youth-age and, in the case of the disfigured, deformed or physically disabled, themselves without those ailments.
''It's awfully considerate of you to think of me here, and I'm most obliged to you for making it clear that I'm not here''. ''Wouldn't you miss me? Wouldn't you miss me at all?'' ''One night going to a gig someone said ''Shall we pick Syd up?'' and somebody said ''Let's not.''
This is the most amazing thing the Internet has ever witnessed.
Rest in peace, Syd Barrett 🖤

Shame Syd didn't get to see Steve's interpretation of his songs, I'm sure he would have been over the moon, no matter how big he thought it was.😂
That's the best compliment I could ever receive. Thanks !
Well said

Simulation hypothesis by "what exactly is a dream" suggesting reality as such, further ascribed through meta symbolic definitions.
Thnx Steve. You have a big talent for making these amazing animations! Keep up the good work buddy! 👍🎼🎶

02:00 wow I liked that part. This might be your best video.

Yes, just some fine tuning I wanted to do..Syd looking straight ahead was more in line with the iconic 5-man Floyd photo.
👏👏👏🥰🥰💫
