I live in Tokyo. Once in a rush I forgot to lock my bike (a custom made ti bike) when parking it in a bike parking area and dashing to my office to pick up my suitcase for a 2-week trip abroad. The bike was still there when I returned to Tokyo. I can only recall a couple of references in 20+ years of anyone here saying they had a bike stolen. A lot of people here with high end road bikes do the helmet lock (strap helmet through wheel) when going into a convenience store during a ride. I wouldn’t rely on that anywhere else on the planet.
I actually discovered them through instagram (it was recommended to me) and I instantly followed, their builds are really crazy and the team seem like a cool bunch. What a coincidence that you actually went there and visited. Looked really fun :)
What an amazing bike store! It's almost overwhelming how much stuff they packed into that space! I would be there for hours, wanting to look at every single thing! The custom bags and reflectors that they make look fantastic too. Thanks for going there. 👍😁
Loved going to bike shops in Japan... One surprise I got while there, when I made a friend that was a cyclist... He was shocked that an American had ever heard of Keirin racing... Never got to a Keirin track while there, but bike shops in Japan... yes please... I want to go back.
Yes my dude! To be honest, its a bit of a dream to go to this shop. They make so many cool things. And have so much hard to find stuff. Really impressed by their stock of Swift Industries (a small boutique US brand) bags as it took months for me to be able to get my Swift Zeitgeist. The bronze bike that caught your attention at 8:50 is an All-City Gorilla Monsoon. Is like a bikepacking/monster cross bike. Actually the frame at 16:10 with the maroon and black that you liked is the same but one of the 2022 colors. The bikes outside at 3:10 are from Rivendell. Rivendell Atlantis is possibly the prettiest bike ever made. Everyone has their style and this place has the types I could geek out all day over.
What a beautiful bike shop Its like my dream workshop Thx for taking a time for making this video been a while since I watched a shop tour video i believe it was with you're friend she wanted to buy a bike Well stay safe and have a wonderful day guys
Thanks so much for this video! I used to live some 5 minutes away from Blue Lug in Kamiuma and went there a few times. One time I was refurbishing my Fuji Feather and went the with my frameset over my shoulder to get my headset replaced. The guys were super friendly and helpful and I had a great time. Good memories...
Couldn't let this one go by without a shout-out to Team Surly. Looks like you had a lot of fun here. If I ever get (back) to Japan, I'll definitely have to check this out. Best wishes for your new adventures!
Wonderful tour of the Blue Lug. I travel to many places in the U.S. and make it a point to visit local bike shops. I have seen all of your bicycle shop tours on the channel. Please share any more that may be in the new neighborhood. Thanks! John
I love the creativity of that bike shop. One of my bikes is a surly long haul trucker and I got some nice inspiration. I put a photo of my bike on Instagram and I had so many Japanese people like it Surly must be popular. Especially modified.
Very neat and quirky little bike shop! It certainly stands on its own in terms of character and uniqueness, and they make great use of every single square foot of space available.
Blue Lug is awesome. There are three shops in Tokyo, all on the west side. I feel lucky in that my house may be almost exactly in the center of the triangle you could draw on a map connecting the three shops. Wonderful selection of bikes and accessories, no pretension, and very helpful staff. I’ve had two bikes overhauled there - they did a great job. I’ve visited bike stores in many countries. I’ve yet to encounter anything close to how wonderful Blue Lug is.
That's one of the best bike shops I've seen. The selection of top quality stuff. Like Da Brimm for a helmet. Rivendale bikes Grant Peterson was the importer of Bridgestone bikes. Inventor of Grip King pedals. All top quality products. It's even better than Mellow Johnnie's in Austin. Almost like visiting the North American handmade bike show. Sad no recumbents.... ;-)
The Blue Lug is such an enjoyable bike shop to search through. If you were not mindful you’d spend a grand purchasing knickknacks without even realizing it . And that is before even purchasing the main bike components you may have had in kind. I love shops like that as you come across so much stuff you never knew existed, and it makes the ordinary something you seriously want to purchase, and that is when your analyzation skills have to be brought forth. 😆
This is a dream come true! Those Appaloosa and Platypus are made my Rivendell Bicycles, Grant Petersen designed it...he is also the one who designed the iconic Bridgestone XO and MB models. Thanks for granting our request before leaving Japan.
The light blue bike at 8:40 made me want to paint mine. I'm in love with the simplicity of that one. We don't really have nice shops like that here in Brazil, so actually, more than only have a blue bike, I want to open a shop like this one hahahaha ^^ Great video :)
A completely bizarre but awesome bike shop. Such a great example of why bike shops are so fun to explore and make videos of. And I really want to see that Brompton with the swept back bars fold down and see what happens. Even if it doesn’t fold down properly, it would be interesting to see how it rides with wider bars.
What a super cool and really nice shop! I would leave my job and move to Japan to work there. I miss the good old days of working at the bike shop, great people, great fun and always great rides! You have a beautiful shop with really nice inventory, i love it! Stay safe and keep smiling!
I live in the UK and the bike shops are pathetic hardly any accessories to choose from. would love to be able to walk around a great shop like this and buy a lot of goodies for my folding E-bike in my dreams....😂
What a treasure trove of everything you might need for your cycling life ! Love the idea of customising your bike to achieve a more colourful, artistic and technically improved result, away from the standard factory production line constraints. The only thing I did not seem to see is many softer, comfy saddles, which are very common here in England.
It’ll be great to see a tandem bike video. If possible a foldable kind. My wife doesn’t know how to cycle and she always misses out on fun cycling trips. Would love to see some reviews/choices of a sort. 😊
Such a lovely bike shop! I could spend all day here! Also really fun to see a Ctrl cap at 16:50 which is a bike messenger company here in London and I have one too. I wonder how all of these cool things ended up here! 😊
Legend said that usps box is the one that Lance Armstrong and his team mate use to storage their blood. Really nice bike shop fits for steel is real people.

are international custom orders accepted???
Super completa e bacana a loja .
Only in Japan 🇯🇵will you have such shops
Really love the fact that everyone in Japan just leave their bike outside without being afraid of stolen!
Sure is nice :)
The fact is one blue lug's stuff just got his bikes stolen not long ago 😂
No its not...

Verry True🤙
Their bike assembly videos on RUclips are one the most calming stuff for bike nerds I've ever seen
The "Sorry, We're Open" sign is awesome. LOL!
LOVE IT!
That's so kind of BLUE LUG to allow you to access the bike repair station and the custom bag shop.
Yeah, they were great :)
This is bike heaven.
~9:55 Those "Low Bicycles" track frames are legit. Designed by Andrew Low & handmade from aluminum in San Francisco, about 10 miles from me.
I actually discovered them through instagram (it was recommended to me) and I instantly followed, their builds are really crazy and the team seem like a cool bunch. What a coincidence that you actually went there and visited. Looked really fun :)
Great place!
Amazing shop! Glad you didn't miss it! That's got to be one of the coolest bike shops on the planet!
Thanks! 😃
really enjoyed the tour, thank you
So glad!
❤️ the Blue Lug shop 😎! I used to go to performance bikes in the states but they shut most of them down. What a fun and creative shop 😀
What an amazing bike store! It's almost overwhelming how much stuff they packed into that space! I would be there for hours, wanting to look at every single thing! The custom bags and reflectors that they make look fantastic too. Thanks for going there. 👍😁
me too 😀😀
BlueLug, the famous store for fixedgear stuff❤️

Very nice,well done

That orange Ibis Mojo! 😍
I love this shop. So glad you had a chance to visit them.
Us too! 😁

It was so cool, but I felt my knowledge lacking to really appreciate everything there 😅
@@TwoWheelCruise A lot of the stuff is pretty niche so its understandable
Loads of touring bikes and kit here, I would love to visit for sure
Really great tour of Blue Lug. Nice to see some great Rivendell bikes there too.
Used to visit often when I lived in Japan. Will visit again in October.
What a beautiful bike shop
Its like my dream workshop

Thanks! 😁
and now we know where all the Surly frames went in 2020 and 2021.
Just ordered x2 of the blue lug safety triangles, just what I was looking for, when bikepacking 👍👍
Awesome!
Wonderful tour of the Blue Lug. I travel to many places in the U.S. and make it a point to visit local bike shops. I have seen all of your bicycle shop tours on the channel. Please share any more that may be in the new neighborhood. Thanks!

Thanks for watching!
Never heard of Blue Lug bike shop. So much stuff to see I’d be there all day.
So great Cruise thanks for showing the shop. Definitely one of the most unique ones I’ve seen. It’s a must visit when I’m in Tokyo.

Your going to my second favorite country. Thailand. Safe travels. Looking forward to the vdo's of your flight etc....
Love the spacers section!
Awesome bike shop tour! Now I'm itching for upgrades and/or accessories 🤣
I love the creativity of that bike shop. One of my bikes is a surly long haul trucker and I got some nice inspiration. I put a photo of my bike on Instagram and I had so many Japanese people like it Surly must be popular. Especially modified.
Yeah, they seem to be really popular there

Thank you. When you showed the animal themed bottle cage, I have a xmas gift to give!
Heavennn!! Big fan of Blue Lug here in Manila !!🇵🇭🇯🇵
Very neat and quirky little bike shop! It certainly stands on its own in terms of character and uniqueness, and they make great use of every single square foot of space available.
Definitely made great use of all of the space :)

Cool! I am Brazilian and I am going to Tokyo on next week. Which is the most iconic Blue Lug shop that you could recommend for me to visit? Thanks!
I like them all but Hatagaya the best. That’s the one in the video.
It feels really unpretentious and fun. Bikes shops in So Cal usually stick to one main brand, and or really high end road bikes. Very enjoyable video.
I live in Brazil and I am going to Tokyo on next week. Of course I’m going to visit Blue Lug shop. Thanks. For the video.
yeaaaaa finally bluelug 😍
This is should before you move from Japan
thanks a lot for this awesome video :)
Glad you enjoyed! 😊
A dream store ! I need something like that near me ! 👍
So many beautiful bikes...
So this is where all the bikes and parts gone to!!!
This was AWESOME thanks for sharing!
Thankyou so much for the video, always enjoy your bikeshop tour video
Glad you like them!
So many beautiful bikes. Forgot to mention all the beautiful lugs on 90% of their bikes like the Rivendell Bicycle, Surly, others.
That's one of the best bike shops I've seen. The selection of top quality stuff. Like Da Brimm for a helmet. Rivendale bikes Grant Peterson was the importer of Bridgestone bikes. Will go back to Japan because of Blue Lug. Good luck on your next adventure to Thailand 🇹🇭!
Thanks! 😃

Thanks ✌️
A completely bizarre but awesome bike shop. Such a great example of why bike shops are so fun to explore and make videos of.
And I really want to see that Brompton with the swept back bars fold down and see what happens. Even if it doesn’t fold down properly, it would be interesting to see how it rides with wider bars.
I was curious about that too!
21:52 the white bike with the rasta Phil woods and Paul mini motos! ❤️💛💚🥰
What a super cool and really nice shop! I would leave my job and move to Japan to work there. I miss the good old days of working at the bike shop, great people, great fun and always great rides! You have a beautiful shop with really nice inventory, i love it! Stay safe and keep smiling!

Awesome shop! Awesome tour! I felt at home there. I’m from the Midwest of the US.
Thanks for video. Very nice good good good ❤❤
Wonderful! So many items!
What is that seat rail rack thing at 9:10? Looks cool.
Great sharing
It’ll be great to see a tandem bike video. If possible a foldable kind. My wife doesn’t know how to cycle and she always misses out on fun cycling trips. Would love to see some reviews/choices of a sort. 😊
Hope we get a chance to ride one someday
Wow, this place is bike nerd Mecca. It's strangely comforting to see how chaotic the work area is.
i get shivers up and down my spine just thinking about stepping foot into a bike shop again. if i cant get it on amazon, i don't need it.
So many unic bike and item in the shop
I love ur content mate 🔥🔥🔥
Thanks! :)
Such a lovely bike shop! I could spend all day here! Also really fun to see a Ctrl cap at 16:50 which is a bike messenger company here in London and I have one too. I wonder how all of these cool things ended up here! 😊
I like the red one on the front of shop with 2 chairs. And the banana bag . Your friend or assistant show it for seconds. I'm crazy about bicycle.
I love to spend about one day in this shop and eventually buy one.
Legend said that usps box is the one that Lance Armstrong and his team mate use to storage their blood.
Really nice bike shop fits for steel is real people.
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
best shop ever - Bluelug
Very interesting job. Cheers from Greece...
I love the 90's style bike bags but modernised
Looks like a great store
oh no, those 4:12 are not Masi they are MASH from San Francisco USA. Also check out those Affinity Low Pro's still in stock over there.
Oops!
Hope I can go there a lot of things to buy.
It's crazy how many of the products in the shop come from the States. Feels like I'm shopping at my LBS.
Love the race bike guy visits blue lug vibes. MASH is Masi and the since Rivendell puts their bike names on the downtube those are now brands!
This shop is just grillant love to go and spend a few quid id be like a kid in a sweet shop lol😊
