Hey Maven, I just want to let you know how much I look forward to your weekly videos. You have a great voice for narration and your stories are really relatable.
yeah knee injuries can follow for a long while. I remember slamming both of my knees on concrete at work (I'm 250lbs btw) a couple years ago and oh my God the pain was excruciating, I had to walk with a serious case of bowleggedness because of the pain as I made my way to the nurse's office. I had chronic knee pain for easily almost a full year before finally I could sit on my knees (pause lol) or even bend them without feeling pain. In retrospect, I think I probably had hair fractures on both of them just with how bad my knees constantly felt 24/7, but i never got them checked out. I'm just glad they made a full recovery.
In 1982, yup I'm old, I had my T-12 and L-1 verts fractured. The pain was so bad I actually passed out. I broke many bones in my body, my 2st was when I was 5 and broke my right elbow. Fast-forward in 2010 I needed surgery, they pain in my back was getting worse every year but tried to hold on until my child support commitment was fulfilled, came up short by 5 months. The surgery included the removal of the bottom 6 discs followed by a fusion going from T-9 all the way down to S-1. Jump to today in 2024 I still have bad pain for a few reasons. Don't mess with your back, that supports your whole body and any injuries can cause massive problems in the future.
Maven, my guy! I want to thank you for sharing your stories. I was born in the early 90s and was a huge wrestling fan from 02-07. I was lifting a pallet one time at work @21 yrs old and it slipped and hit the outside of my knee, and i felt something dislocate and then slip back in. Ever since then I have had it happen multiple times a year to varying degrees of pain and injury. within the first 5 times it happened i tore something and had to walk with a cane for 6 months. It has been 15 years and it happens regularly. My knee gives out, i have tearing feeling in the core of my knee cap from bones rubbing together and cartilage is garbage. Kneecaps have tons of microfractures and overall there is water in the knee from all the trauma. I didnt do sports, I can only imagine what you're experiencing.
Jammed Collar Bone, Shattered Elbow, Pec Tendon Tear, Rolled Ankle, Foot Stinger just a list of my injuries over the last 6 years of my wrestling career. I can attest crutches fkn hurt Kendo Sticks hurt worse imo. (Edit) But I've never injured anyone in the ring.

As someone with 4 herniated discs (L3,L4,L5 and S1) and who is prescribed, and addicted to Tramadol, I can definitely agree that back problems are not to be scoffed at. My job as a plasterer and decorator doesn’t help matters. This morning I could barely get out of bed and the pain was horrendous, only now I’ve had my stuff do I feel ok, can’t imagine having this injury and having to wrestle and travel daily. Fair play to you Maven getting through it and beating your addictions
Slamming your knee into an edge of any kind hurts like fooking hell. I didn't run into a ring like Maven did for his super hero scene but slipping and then ramming your knee into your house door frame trying to catch yourself from falling certainly didn't feel good as well. Honestly when I think back I probably would've preferred the fall. Another injury, this time concussion. I was a kid, playing with others. We climbed the containers you put used glass into. We balanced on top of it and then when I slipped down the edge my friend wanted to catch me but he grabbed me below the buttocks and the momentum let me fall backwards while he struggled to keep me upright. So my head slammed into the pavement. I had so much fun and adrenaline that I just felt a lil headache. My mother then found out that I was bleeding and nearly passed out coz she couldn't see any blood at all. The days after I felt like absolute shit. Tldr: injuries can happen at any time in your daily life, no matter your profession, age or fitness.
For the last one, if you hit below the knee it could be PCL. Above knee could be ACL. Unusual mechanism, but could be enough force for translation. Giving out is a big ACL sign
I've had a knee injury twice before but my knee swelled up on the kneecap. I'm not it's either of those but for so long I could not stand on it for a while. I went to the doctors and the hospital but they never told me what it was only that it wasn't torn cartilage
I remember getting concussed after falling off a bridge into a river. I remember feeling so sick and all my balance was gone. Luckily I was okay (not mentioning the herniated disk in my neck that took almost a year for any doctor to even notice).

Back then as an Indian, I didn’t even understand that much English, specially the American accent, so it was all just like Mr Bean to me, only understanding what I could see. 😅 but it was fun, now as a 31 years old man, this is fun, thanks man.
The worst injury I saw you take was in 2012 when you were arrested. I'm beyond happy you got sober and have had success since. Keep up the good work my dude.
I drove my kneecap directly into the corner of metal bleachers when I was a kid. Cracked it. I still have a little dent in the middle of my kneecap. But the pain, that was my #1 too. I guess there's a lot of nerves in your kneecap or something cause WOW that shut down my entire system.
I wonder what some of the injuries big wrestling stars like Batista, brok lesna, John cena, stone cold, the undertaker, Kane. Chris Jericho, HHH, ric flair, Randy Ortern, ray mysterio, jbl and Shawn Michaels Suffered throughout their entire wrestling careers
Oh man. I forgot Nidia won Tough Enough too! WWE didn't push her in that aspect as much as Maven, but then again, she was a 'Diva'. I always thought she was one of the most good looking Divas.
She'd probably have done way better in the last 10 years. I think it's a shame WWE didn't do enough with her, out of all the female tough enough winners, she was easily my favorite.
Adrenaline masking pain is real. I played three years in a roller hockey league that allowed fighting. I had 80 fights in 42 games. I did not get hurt while in any fight, but I felt plenty the day after fights. Someone who was new to the league in my third year asked me who punched the hardest and I had no clue. It helped that I have a hard head I'm sure, but clearly from the bruises, black eyes, etc. I took hard punches that adrenaline brushed off
I remember meeting you back in 2003. It was either raw or smack down mega show at the garden and you couldn’t find your way in so my friends and I showed you how to get into Madison Square Garden. I don’t know if you remember that, but that was the first time I ever met you. You are a great person with great energy keep up the good work
Thinking about your back, Shawn Michaels said the same thing after hitting the casket VS Taker. It was fine but not long after, he could barely move and his back was all torn up from it. Adrenaline is a hell of a thing.
Paradyse, Jimmy. Is my buddy from elementary school, middle school, and high school. He was always already to take a bump, from the cement foorls at Planet Fun to the gym at High School. He did it

I just met Maven last weekend at the Airport randomly. Great dude. Couldn't believe he was walking right in front of me. Thank you for taking the time to talk with me for a few minutes and taking a picture with me🤜🤛
Ribs are the worst. The break hurts but it's nothing compared to sneezing while they are broken. It was so bad I didn't sneeze again for weeks. My brain must have turned that function off until I had healed.
I agree with this . I was in the hospital after my accident with broken ribs , shattered elbow, fractured spine and 3 broken bones in my neck and the worse pain was my ribs every time I breathed, but like they tell you unless it's near an organ there's nothing they can do
I think it is so cool that you used to be a teacher. Imagine all your former students getting the "my dad can beat your dad in a fight" kind of feeling they get to have about you! 😂 You are the strongest teacher. 👍 Thanks for another great video.
Maven is still killing it. I would love to see him working in WWE as a backstage journalist or as a commentator. I think he brings a lot more than what he gives himself credit for. He's aged well as in he's looking better now than he did while he was wrestling, he also looks good as he's put those demons to rest. I couldn't be happier for him and I hope RUclips is killing it and it's paying the bills. You want to know what else that will pay the bills? That new WWE sexy fricken contract. Do what makes you happy though 😊
Maybe I’m just not seeing it, but I can’t see any bounce back of your head from The Money Shot. You look like you lift your head up and tighten your core to brace the impact, but then even in full speed you look like you slowly lower your head back down for the pin. Maybe I’m just missing it but I’m thinking if you got a concussion that match, it’s from another point during it.
Thanks Maven, for taken-us on the tour of Pain during ur 2001-2005 WWE Matches.. WWE had gone to USA channel, so I can't watch the shows on Fox anymore..
Maven, that knee I feel for you. I have a bum knee that I fell on and spiked on concrete 8 years ago. It hurts on the outside side of it constantly. Feels weak and buckles on me. I can't jump or put pressure on it. that makes the pain worse. Had an x ray. Nothing. Then had a MRI done. Nothing shown again. The doctor I saw does not know what it is. I feel your pain. maybe you should get your knee looked at. I'm sure you have more resources than I do to figure it out.
I don't care much for modern wrestling. I'll just watch occasionally for a nostalgia pop at this point. With that said, I need to hear Maven's legendary theme play after the buzzer at the Royal Rumble just one more time. Hit the music, get a few eliminations, dropkick Braun Strowman out of the ring (or whoever the big guy is these days). I would pop huge. C'mon Maven. It's been too long.

22:01 maven is a fucking bad ass. To break a knee and still do a perfect drop kick has to be hall of fame worthy.
Didn't say he broke it, he hit it at full sprint.
yea, I was thinking he did a good job of performing the rest of the stuff he had to perform
2:26 that rhymed dont hate the player hate the game BARS!!!
2:30 "... Get yourself a dog collar, put it on, and have someone yank you around with it..." That just sounds like a fun Friday night.
500k very soon. great content 🫡
I wonder what some of the injuries big wrestling stars like Batista, brok lesna, John cena, stone cold, the undertaker, Kane. Chris Jericho, HHH, ric flair, Randy Ortern, ray mysterio, jbl and Shawn Michaels
Suffered throughout their entire wrestling careers
so I'm new to the channel but watched you when I was a kid let me just say....now older and retired athlete..boy you had a great dropkick man
Love your channel Maven, it really is the best of any wrestling channel I've seen so far! Stevie Richards would be #2
22:26 cody is crying rn hearing you say that
Haha fr
@@dwightyboy5324I wanted her to be one of the women that posed in playboy. They used to do it every year.
Yeah Nidia was pretty hot
Adrenaline masking pain is real. I played three years in a roller hockey league that allowed fighting. I had 80 fights in 42 games. I did not get hurt while in any fight, but I felt plenty the day after fights. Someone who was new to the league in my third year asked me who punched the hardest and I had no clue. It helped that I have a hard head I'm sure, but clearly from the bruises, black eyes, etc. I took hard punches that adrenaline brushed off
Maven actually made me start watching wrestling again thank u u the best 💯
I remember meeting you back in 2003. It was either raw or smack down mega show at the garden and you couldn’t find your way in so my friends and I showed you how to get into Madison Square Garden. I don’t know if you remember that, but that was the first time I ever met you. You are a great person with great energy keep up the good work
that last one was almost exactly like when Vince hurt his quads
Thinking about your back, Shawn Michaels said the same thing after hitting the casket VS Taker. It was fine but not long after, he could barely move and his back was all torn up from it. Adrenaline is a hell of a thing.
Of all the content producing wrestlers who no longer work for the WWE, Maven seems to be having some of the best success from it.
Paradyse, Jimmy. Is my buddy from elementary school, middle school, and high school. He was always already to take a bump, from the cement foorls at Planet Fun to the gym at High School. He did it
Thanks for being consistent with the Content Maven!
🙏🏽👍🏽 no thank you
Happy Friday to everyone!
Maven for the win!!!
That chair shot from Taker hits me different.
The last injury was probably a fractured knee cap and never healed properly afterwards. Im crying here for you Mav
I just love new Maven Videos!
Happy Maven Friday everyone 🤘Love this channel!
I always loved maven the dude had one of the best entrance songs ever
Maven needs to go in the wwe hall of fame as a great ambassador for the company and as a guy who broke the ceiling for other wrestling RUclipsrs to succeed
Friday is maven day ! Great vid as usual !
I've always been amazed how wrestlers can still walk after all the falls on their back that they take during their careers. Thanks for another great video! Take care of yourself.
Never had my ribs broken, only heavily brused. Left me still in enormous pain for around two weeks. I couldn't breath right the whole time.
I agree with this . I was in the hospital after my accident with broken ribs , shattered elbow, fractured spine and 3 broken bones in my neck and the worse pain was my ribs every time I breathed, but like they tell you unless it's near an organ there's nothing they can do
22:08 similar to vince mc mahon in the royal rumble 2005
I am 32 i grew up watching ur videos love ur channel thank u for everything you do .
Hey maven,im one of those guys, just subscribed few days ago, nice video and keep it up.Peace out
From,
That one guy
It's not about u
I don't care much for modern wrestling. I'll just watch occasionally for a nostalgia pop at this point.
With that said, I need to hear Maven's legendary theme play after the buzzer at the Royal Rumble just one more time.
Hit the music, get a few eliminations, dropkick Braun Strowman out of the ring (or whoever the big guy is these days). I would pop huge. C'mon Maven. It's been too long.
Love your channel, always very interesting !
Bro deserves more,god bless maven.

The concussion thing is so scary!
