Wow the matcha highball blew my mind off, in my opinion it reflects japanese taste very well. Looks so simple yet refreshing in its own way. You might gave me the push in the right direction to make my signature cocktail for my upcoming mixology class!
I've noticed that the Japanese are a culture that really appreciates a slightly bitter flavor, and matcha is a perfect representation of that. Even ceremonial-grade matcha powder will have that slight bitterness cutting through the barely sweet, vegetal flavors of the tea. Personally, I'm not a huge fan of matcha due to the slightly gritty texture it can have, even when the quality of the leaves and grind is good. Some people describe it as having a silky, creamy mouthfeel because of the texture the powder imparts to the liquid, but it's a textural problem for me, so I typically make mine as a latte if I use it at all, since the milk helps to mask the texture for me. If you want to cheat, get an electric milk frother and use it to mix your matcha with water or milk for your beverage.
Japanese bartending is a completely different culture to normal American bartending as they take time with each drink compared to America where it's style and speed
Well style is important and so is speed on a busy night.. The thing is japanese things are always considered high quality but i feel like people are tricked into believing something is high quality just because its japanese, Europe definedly has the most variable unique and intresting set of alcoholic beheverages Finland sweden, russia italy Serbia etc

I love Japanese whisky and their cocktail culture! I'm always so fascinated watching their bartenders make drinks on youtube. I have yet to visit a cocktail bar in Japan, definitely a goal for the future! I believe it is pronounced: U (like the oo sound in "noodles") ME (like the me sound in "men") SHU (somewhat like the shoo in "shoot") I'm not Japanese, but I took Japanese class for 5 years and studied in Japan for a semester. I hope that helps!
You are completely right, Japanese bartenders are really professional and really skilled. I love their passion. I really hope to try one of those cocktails one day.. but for now I will just keep watching your videos! Thank you, you're great

The manga "Bartender" is an interesting read and provides quite a few fantastic cocktail recipes as well as their history and some useful bartending techniques. It's nowhere near as flashy and bombastic as many of the food-based manga out there, but is still an excellent series.
watching your videos is so relaxing I'm not even drinking cocktails or much alcohol but man this is true craft skills combinded with such a creativity and passion Keep it up you are awesome!
Man!!! The Japonese culture is so amazing even in this!! As you comment i the video, a friend of mine showme a video of a japonese bartender and he shake the drink for 20 min!!!! wowwww!! but the end result was amazing the foam of the drink was so cool even go beyond the glass but not loosing any shape!! The firts cocktail was my favorite!!! Cheers dude !!!

My favorite cocktail from this video is probably the matcha highball or the Japanese whiskey float highball. The Umetini sounds super interesting but I am a huge fan of the highball. It's just so interesting to me that such care is taken with such a simple cocktail.
Love your videos. I have upgraded my home bar hopefully to get to the advanced version like yours. All the cocktails are delicious and appealing to the eye. Thank you for all your videos
You did a good job pronouncing Umeshu, it is oo-may-shoo, but the shu is voiceless, so it's somewhere between the word "Shoe" and just "Sh," it's like "Sh" with just the sliver of a "oo" that is just barely there. That's how a Japanese native might say it, and with a different cadence, but your pronunciation is perfect for someone who doesn't know any Japanese
Do a cocktail for every country, this sounds like a good idea!
Yes love it 🙏
