Uphill sprinting must be the single best excersize ,I have never been so ripped in my life and that is basically all I do,along with pullups and dips. Thanks for those variations and alternate takings on hill drills
Marshon Brooks is truly an underated basketball player.Anyone who thinks what he did in this video is easy is an idiot.Working out in general is extremely tough with a busy schedule.Let alone the life of an NBA basketball player.
Love it my dream is to be in the NBA would to go through your training I have played AAU basketball as well as high school basketball then went on to practice with college teams before I fell on hard times and had to work an pretty much put away basketball for a while
Hi there very infomative video. my question is that for soccer players pre season preparation how would you design sand workout agility drills and plyometrics? or what would be the optimal pre season training for you? Thanks for your time and help
I notice this is taken of a course of different days. How many of these drills do you compelte in one day? Or do you break each day into different workout styles (like day one is agility, day 2 footwork, day 3 power)?
We usually split up our speed and agility days to Linear and Lateral days. This type of split is very common in the strength and conditioning field. We could do anywhere around 6 to 8 drills per workout. It really depends on the intensity of the drill and what we are focusing on with the athlete. Our speed and agility workouts never go over 60 min. Doing speed and agility work in a fatigued state makes it a lot less effective.

Karl, What does the hill force the ankle to do when performing plyometrics? At 3:32 you mention it--"dorse inflection"? Was that it? Thanks in advance and good work. Really interesting seeing this stuff.
If you stand straight up on a hill your ankle is in dorsiflexion. Its just like the motion your foot uses to let off the gas pedal in a car. When the ankle is in dorsiflexion the leg must fire more forcefully to get off the ground in a plyometric movement. Your ankle goes through a grater range of motion this way compared to just jumping on flat ground. Its just one thing we add to our speed and agility program.
We will be offering an Online Training System in the next few months. Keep a look out for it. I'll have a video and website set up to explain how it all works. Thanks for watching the videos.
We will have an online training system up within the next 6 months. I know its far out but we want to make sure its the best program and delivery system possible. Thanks for the support!
TAPETrainingSystems dang thats a while but the videos u are putting out is great. On the bright side i know where to buy the bands and theurs plenty verticl jump and speed programs out there, i can add the bands to excersises like sprints, squats, box and standing jumps, etc. Then when ur program comes out . I will get.
Sir I have a question where did you get that green band that is being used to pull back Marshon, it goes around his back and not waist, also what is the name of the band. Thank you sir I appreciate it.
Jacquan Osborne I'm in the process of making an online system. We should be piloting a beta version in a few months. The reason its taking so long is that we are creating a unique interface where the computer or (AI) automatically adapts to your results and progresses you like a real trainer would. We wanted to differentiate from the programs that just send you a PDF with a few videos. Thanks for showing interest!!!
Green = 140 when maximally stretched and Purple = 100 when maximally stretched. When doing sprints and on court agility its just depends on how hard you pull.
Those are just resistance bands. They are also called stretch bands or super bands. You can get them form Elite FTS, Rogue Fitness, Power Systems, or Perform Better websites.
ballislife 34 No plyos during the season. Its going to be too much on your body. If your not getting any playing time you can be doing very limited plyos. But with the amount of jumping and impact your legs take in practice and the games, you have a high probability of overtraining.
ballislife 34 The game itself has enough jumps in it,if u keep doing plyo, you risk overtraining and injuries, better to do it only offseason and at the beginning of the season.

Finally talking a little about defense but it's all the trainer and even then I'm not convinced he let Brooks know this was about defense b/c he still looks as bad on D as ever! If HE doesn't make it his top priority, he will be out of the league soon enough!
Listen man....I'm a strength and conditioning coach....not a skills coach, let’s make that clear. Strength and conditioning = speed/strength/endurance/ect. Skills = shooting/defense/dribbling/rebounding...ect. So if you’re going to be commenting on his skills you might want to comment under a skills video. Get it straight.

how many lower body plyometric should i do in my wotkout?
That depends on what phase of the program your in. Its going to vary throughout the year.
so then, should i keep doing plyos during in season?
ballislife 34 No plyos during the season. Its going to be too much on your body. If your not getting any playing time you can be doing very limited plyos. But with the amount of jumping and impact your legs take in practice and the games, you have a high probability of overtraining.

Uliana32 Exactly! Thanks Uliana32!
How often should an Elite Athlete do an agility workout a week?
Depends on your training split and what season you are in. We keep it around 2x per week for speed work.
