    nice. Just what I was looking for. Snagged about 6 times while trying to rock fish over the weekend. I will give this a shot and hopefully not lose any more traces.

    Nice video! Just wondering ,what depth range would be right for pollock and bass? Should it be "middle range" or closer to the surface or bottom??

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  5 лет назад +1

      I would try closer to the bottom first then change the depth if nothing was taking the bait.

    For Saltwater fishing are there different float sizes that you tend to use?

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  5 лет назад +1

      You can get different sizes but I normally just stick to the same size float for the areas I fish.

    Interesting video.
    I like that kind of float. Where did you buy that float?
    Thank you very much.

    How long does the leader have to be and when I use this rig my leader gets tangled up with my float in rough current ? Plz help

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  5 лет назад

      Your leader needs to be aslong as you need it to be to fish the depth of water your fishing. Your weight should keep your hook down below your float in the water. I have a more up to date video here ruclips.net/video/-S81SMpDbQk/видео.html hope this helps.

      @@fishingintheukgarywood The only problem is when I add too much weight the bobber sinks and when current is to strong the bobber tends to move to a different location

    What can you use as bait for pollock or mackerel

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  6 лет назад +1

      Sand eels are good for both and you can use rag worm for the pollock and strips of mackerel for the mackerel.

    I watch alot of these float fishing rigs but no one ever shows how to set a 9 - 11 ft rig for a float. The elastic band blows off the guides when casting

    • @fishingintheukgarywood
      @fishingintheukgarywood  5 лет назад +2

      You could try using a small silicon stop bead that fits through the guides instead of the elastic band.

  • @gardenweld
    @gardenweld 4 года назад

    On your main line you first put a stop-knot/elastic band then a Bead then your float - Then you put another Bead - Then a swivel - then 18" of line - then your lead - then a bead Then a Swivel - Then you put 19" of leader line and a hook. This leader must not be longer than the top of the float, ..When > "Holding the main line above the float in one hand and the hook in the other let the lead fall, your hook must not be above the float" ..Now when you cast the lead will cast first, the float hook and bate follow, but it can't now tangle round the float. 🎣🤫👍🏻😊
