I'm gonna make all my analog work normal but I want to do something like this for everything else I need to monitor. 100% agree though, timeless and classic better.
@@VNCTHE1 they are gauged on an iPad. They are digital, not analog. Analog gauges are what he adhered that IPad stand to, the actual physical gauges in the truck. Analog is not the style of the gauge.
I had a 1980 Luv in 1997 that my father purchased new and gave to me. I drove that incognito Isuzu 4 cyl with manual transmission with a combined mileage of 218k miles. And it would have went much longer but the K-member front cradle was so rusted away, that it was not safe and trying to locate a new one or a solid used one, just not gonna happen... So, I rebuilt the whole front and rear suspension to roll on solid axles from a older Jeep and chopper the front axle up to move the pig to the other side and custom axle shafts for proper length... With 33" tires. Ground up rebuild over a year, and had to sell it, due to a price I couldn't refuse.. about once a year or three, I still see that dinky truck at car shows and it is still winning trophies to this day.. I do miss that tonka toy... So much fun to drive and was comfortable to drive for me, due to me being a short guy, but the bench seat allowed perfect comfort for peddle reach for my dinky legs..
That's awesome I didn't know you could do that with holley. Until I can afford holley I'm going to buy the 20 dollar obd2 dongle with a tablet until then. But I also had no idea they made a suction cup holder that would hold tablets either! Awesome info!
Man my boss used to make me drive his diesel luv into Portland every few days to get semi truck parts. That thing was gutless but it did get good mileage.
Totally unrelated but ever since I saw a specific kit designed for taking very old cars and giving them all modern day equipment is such a surreal feeling. Getting into a car from the 1930s and it looking like a Tesla on the inside is crazy.
Do you have any idea how cut up that truck is? LS means there is a 3 foot chunk out of the radiator core support, cut out factory trans crossmember, cut all the floor out for transmission clearance......not a reversable swap
Have a cousin that has one of those trucks, hes restoring it but swapping the engine. I cant remember what he said but hes been working on it in his sspare time for years. Cool little truck
This is actually a standard feature in the Renault Twingo. It doesn't come with a tachometer, but it does have a phone dock and an app to use your smartphone as a digital instrument panel.
Cheap and easy, for those wonder you can buy a few different setups like this that's uses a small screen. If it was me I'd get a set of Dakota Digital 64-65 gauges oelr something similar and make that work to keep the old school look.
I was ab to be like why tf don't you get a Holley display in the dash? And then I realized you're a man of taste who wants that interior pristine, awesome work around
You should check out the video on Donut Media where they did this exact thing. In their series "money pit" they did this to a modified Miata, but they actually put a screen inside of where the gauges were, rather than attaching a windows tablet to the dash with a suction cup.
Cool now make a kron job to automatically bring the tablet out of sleep mode and get to the gauges whenever you turn the car on and USB traffic comes down that port
Given that it’s literally the same as a Tesla which will allow you to watch Netflix, you could probably talk your way out of it. Assuming of course that whenever the cop pulls you over, the gauges are what’s on the screen and not a movie…
Thought about doing the tablet thing. Definitely cheaper but in the grand scheme of things 700 bucks for the 7” Holley digital dash wasn’t all that bad. I definitely wouldn’t trust that suction mount. That sucker is gonna end up in your lap
You should be able to also make an integrated digital dash using a similar, albeit vehicle-specific, device. Though it does require some cutting and elbow grease
Cop: why were you speeding?
You: software update.
Dude, this is hilarious 🤣
🗿👌🏻
Gold
You would only get a ticket for malfunctions on your car . You wouldn’t get a speeding ticket which means no points on your license 😏
😂
Cool you turned it into a Dodge Ram
A chevy luv with a chevy engine is a Dodge ram?
@@bryanroupe8646 yes
@@bryanroupe8646 that’s exactly how it works, I’m like 60% certain
@@bryanroupe8646 he is talkin bout the gauges, they look just as shitty in the dodges as they do on that screen
@@jackofnotrades7783 Cool thing is that's just a matter of a software update.
*turns hard to one side*
the tablet: “farewell”
lmao, that happened so many times with my phone. If I turn too hard it just goes flying across the car
If it works it works, little too fast and dirty for me, I really like analog gauges.
Same

Those are analog gagues lol

That's badass I just hope that bracket holds up in a Chevy LUV with an LS swap
😂😂
Prolly on a newer s10 frame
Officer: "How fast do you think you were going back there?"
Driver: "Sorry officer, my gauges blue-screened."
man that tablet can have the suns heat as a treat 😂
Ooooh nah he needa get an arduino up in that gauge cluster 💀
True lol nice angel dust pfp
yeah it’s nice you can do this in a second, but a real integrated display would be sweet
Yeah, arduino at least won't show bluescreen lol
“Modern problems call for modern solutions”
I wouldve never dreamed of this when I was driving a Luv back 40 yrs ago.
I had a 1976 chevy luv. I loved that truck. It might not have been the fastest or could haul alot, but I had alot fun in that damn ole truck.
For a second I thought you were going to embed the tablet into the dash
Great choice on the truck, i'm looking for a chevy love myself!
How ingenious can you be, that's so cool, all you have to do is take the tablet out and nobody else can drive your truck. Sweet
That's pretty damn cool. Now you can play GTA by switching between tabs. Lol
That’s awesome! My first truck was a 1975 LUV truck but mine was a POS.

Go by your local truck stop in the c-store trucker accessories area, you'll find several there as a rule.
Holy shit! Someone else with a Chevy luv. The proud and the few
This is why i love Hollie products
Looking forward to getting a holley terminator wiring harness myself!

I find this cursed, but kinda cool in a cyberpunk-kind of way.
Pretty cool!! Super neat and makes everything reversible!

Somehow windows manages to update during a race would be funny.
"Stand by as we mandate the unwanted Windows 11 installation onto your tablet."
would've been nice to have the last shot been a bit longer
Yes, Do Hicky is an actual technical terminology. Lol.
Those systems are so cool!
We always had V8 s 10s but I always wanted a luv. The look so fun
😆 GPS takes care of broken speedometer, I wish I had one in the 80s, could have saved me some tickets
Dude! I had a 1980 luv with a dodge 440. Yes a dodge 440. Was the craziest thing. Awesome build you have.
That must scream down the road very cool
That is such a sweet little truck. Currently building an ls2 S10
Id be excited to see you get that terminator data turned to analog signals and get those gauges actually working!!

Glad to hear you're in love man
Dude the fact the suction cup fit was heaven lol
So smart with the interfacing. The more of these computer savvy videos I watch, the more I feel like a neanderthal.
Don't feel bad there around it all the time. All you need is a little more time around them .You seem to have the desire.
Imagine getting gapped by this thing
Wouldn't mind, looks badass.

I miss my chevy luv. Gave it away in 1994.
In highschool 1993 we did a 383 swap in a 75 love. It was rear wheel drive and was a monster to drive but cool.

Well done sir 👏
Я прям вижу как эта конструкция будет дрожать везде))
Watch the battery life go from 100 to 20 with live data and sunlight overheating it at the same time. Genius.
And now your classic car looks just like all the new cars with a tablet glued to the dashboard
Guages and pornhub gotta love 2022 🤣
What? Where is the pornhub
Your truck is so kool
Should’ve just got some cool Autometer mechanical gauges for oil press, water temp, fuel air, and you’d be good. Plus they look cool!
Ok that’s actually really cool!
I'm jealous that is a nice truck
This man just made him a Tesla chevy in less than ten seconds
That a sweet little automobile you got there
Loll that is beautiful. 2023 is 😎
All you gota do is say

He sounds like the guy from “my money don’t jiggle jiggle it flows”
Is the LUV 4 wheel drive? I see the front tires.
I saw that same thing!!
Yeah I would like to know too but it could just be mainly for drift

Das badass man. I'd be worried about a lagging interface.
You should be able to also make an integrated digital dash using a similar, albeit vehicle-specific, device. Though it does require some cutting and elbow grease
They need to bring back mini trucks
My pizza delivery guy use to drive a yellow chevy luv in the late 90s
Modern problems require modern solutions.
Finally a use for windows tablets
imagine tablet dying at 320km/h
Had no idea! Dope!
Dope? Seriously?
That's pretty neat, my only advice is to make or purchase a sturdier amount for your tablet
Cop: sir you know how fast you were going?
Him: sorry I have to charge the Speedo
I had an orange 1976 Chevy luv lowered with a step side and we did a v6 swap to it and we had a hidro e brake and we would drift that on the weekends
Love the out of box thinking!!!
Him driving down the highway
Windows: Would you like to update to Windows 11?
Man doesn’t realize that Holley also sells a screen with their ecus, 3” up to 7” (I think)
yeah but thats crazy expensive, mine as well use his tablet that uses pretty much the same thing, not as clean but same purpose
Theres also a mode that tracks 0-60 and quarter miles I just figured out. Not a big deal but pretty cool
Modern problems require modern solutions
I did this to my dad's car, but we bought a Bluetooth ODB2 reader and we monitor our fuel mileage and shit through our phones
Chevy luv, the prom queen of mini trucks, will swallow anything
Turns hard to dodge a garbage bag in the middle of the road
Tablet:Adios
Thats not distracting at all.. Now you even view Utube while driving and become the Terminator...
I would definitely check out Juggernaut cases for a more secure mount
So if you got a smaller tablet or the actual Holley display. But that’s a good budget solution!👍👍
Imagine its track day but your tablets dead
That damn fuel pump louder than most peoples cars💀
