Yes , it's obvious that Kwesi doesn't want JJ and there was never any potential for JJ to take part in any off season activities.
A Jefferson trade gets you into the top 3 or 4 picks plus a bit more, trade him get your qb and use your picks to get one of the 3 top receivers and save the cap space not tied up with a Jefferson deal.
Close - I’d actually grab Marvin Harrison Jr. first, then the QB with the second pick.
I'd want more than 1 1st round pick for JJ. If it was the 4th I'd like to see us get the Cards next year's 1st or this year's 2nd and next year's 2nd.

If the Vikings didn’t have Jefferson would you trade that much for him? Especially with the salary demand, I sure wouldn’t. He’s great but not 35 million plus or multiple firsts or top 4 pick great with the amount of talented WRs recently coming out. You can scheme good WRs to similar production. I’d be happy with a mid first and a second or third for him.

If O’Connell is the great QB guru that you guys think he is then he should be able to take a QB drafted number 3 in the first round and turn into a top 10 QB. They have one on their team right now. They will need to draft a defensive tackle and Cornerback if they want to survive in the NFC North. You have 3 QBs in the North right now that will destroy the Vikings. Chicago will become a powerhouse with their new QB and Detroit is already a powerhouse. Green Bay is also in the mix. Of course the Vikings may win 7 games a year which will make the Wilfs happy.
All the Wilfs care about is the money flowing out of Minnesota to New Jersey. If O’Connell can’t change good old Sam into the QB he should have been then he is not coach you think he is. That is just the facts.

I'm with mackey again, not a shocker, but I think teams will get gun shy for mccarthy. Sure he has intangibles, but in a deep draft will teams give up a lot or take a risk that high for a guy who they say his upside is Alex Smith??

O'Neil, if we can get a high second round selection I'd consider that. IF we do that I might take one of the top tackles high and use the 23 for a QB then take that second round selection to take a dt like a tvondre sweat or kris Jenkins from Michigan or Braden fiske from Florida State. There is talent later in the draft at DT this year. Get younger and cheaper on the offensive line around someone like a Michael Penix if he's there at 23.

If this draft is deep in WR's wouldn't that kind of bring his value kind of down....I ll take the draft picks and build my team.
All we need to do is draft BPA. Both picks will have elite players on the board. The best teams don't chase and build with the BEST players. We don't really need a QB this year. If a QB drops, then hell yes, otherwise take the best player.

Keep reminding people that we already traded 2 2nd round picks for #23 so to go to a #3 spot, it would cost 3 firsts and 2nds. It's getting ridiculous
If Drake May Falls to the Patriots at #3 pick. We are going to see a three way trade. The Patriots trade down to the 4th pick from the cardinals and receive Minnesota's 2025 1st round pick. The Cardinals get the 11th and 23rd pick from the Vikings for the 3rd pick. Thus the Vikings get their guy at the third pick of the draft.
WTD... The team that we trade our draft picks to will have a better 5 year run than the Vikings.
It’d be interesting to see what percentage of the fanbase eager to trade 3 firsts for the 4th quarterback off the board were “Cousins Haters.” Could never be quantified but I’d imagine they make up the overwhelming majority of that camp.
If the Vikings can't get Drake May, the Vikings will stick with the 11 and 23... Probably get Penix or Nix.... I wouldn't be shocked if they try to get Rattler as well. To increase their QB pipeline.

I wouldn't burn major money on JJ until I'm sure I got my QBOTF. The second you sign JJ to a giant contract like that your Super Bowl window starts so you better know for damn sure your in the position to make a run.

The McCarthy - Cousins comp is super weird. How does a guy that can win off script, is super athletic, extends plays, doesn’t checkdown, slays 3rd and long, and plays big in big spots get compared to Cousins? I mean they both have good velocity on their throws and can hit the entire route tree but otherwise, McCarthy is basically the opposite of Cousins. You would never have to worry about McCarthy dumping it off to the covered TE for three yards on 4th and 7 with the season on the line in the playoffs.
And the Purdy comp is a bit odd too. I mean, Purdy is a good QB but he doesn’t have the arm talent or athleticism that McCarthy has. I do love his intangibles though and could see McCarthy being a decent comp in that regard.

They'll likely keep 11 pick a DT and draft Penix or Nix at 23. It will be another failed draft. If we expect it, it won't disappoint us.
I disagree with the Jefferson predictions. His last 4 years have shown us that this isn't the dude he is. JJ wants to play some football.
Time to do a show on what we could get for JJ and what teams would realistically take on his contract he wants.
Prediction: Vikings stick and pick at 11. Trade down from 23 with the Commanders and pick up 36 and 67.
Why would we trade out of the second round a month ago just to trade back into it using the extra first we picked up? That makes no sense.

Were they just drawing teams out of a hat trying to decide who gets their first round pick? There was clearly dialogue between the two teams beforehand and the Texans called when an offer was solidified. If all hell breaks loose and they can’t move up for a QB, there’s way more value picking at 23 than moving back into the second round and adding a third.
@@UNCtarheels71 it matters because the Texans used THAT 2nd rounder to get Diggs. They came to us because they had a move already in place afterwards. That’s why it matters.
So Kwesi traded two second round picks for a second round pick and a third round pick is the net result of acquiring pick 23. Kwesi is clearly a mastermind genius.

Why not franchise JJ??? and why wouldn't he want to be franchised??? The second highest paid player in NFL history was franchised TWICE!!! When this draft is over, maybe you guys can talk truth again. I am very tired of all the mock drafts for 2 months, which are not even close to what will really happen. One thing the Vikings have is #11, and #23 in the draft, and unless they give way too much, to move up what is left to get a good QB, which might not be the one they really want. Then the team might be in a real bad place, out of great first day picks and getting nothing, when they could update both Defense and Offense players they both need. Kwesi best way can help or destroy the future of the team. Good Luck😊
