Hahhh, nostalgia at maximum, childlike wonder engaged, Great video. One day Superman will be in your school history books alongside Hercules in the "myths and legends" section. Superman will never die.
I'm actually surprised by the inclusion of Smallville; if only because it was a lot more "elseworlds-y" than the other depictions, with the exception of MOS, which was even more elseworlds-y and surreal.
Superman Returns to me was truly awesome, Brandon Routh did his very best. Yes there were some mistakes. For instance having Lex Luthor and ignoring the action crowd 8 years ago, Bryan Singer truly admitted that he made some mistakes. In my opinion.

You're right saying that the symbol is a representation of each person as an Individual on the planet Krypton. Funny that many people think it stands for the letter S just because it's the first letter in Superman.
Dean Cain was the best Clark Kent... Christoper was my fav Superman... but I think Dean Cain did more with the character of Clark than anyone else, including Tom Welling's take. Lois & Clark is my favorite rendition of the characters of Lois & Clark, and Superman I and II my favorite rendition of Superman. Dean was magnificent. Teri Hatcher, too.
If you see Superman:The Movie again you will see in the scene were Jor-El talks with the other people of the counsal that he has the Superman symbal on his chest and the other people all have there own one, which means that the Superman symbol is in no way the letter S because Jor-El had no powers on krypton therefore no reason to be called Superman. It it a symbal to represent his family on the cousal or on the planet or whatever that I can't be sure.
There are still many people out there who think that Superman's symbol stands for the letter S. If this is news for you, you have been wrong the whole time! Jor-El had the same symbol on the planet Krypton and other members of the counsal each had there own. The name Superman was just a name invented by Lois Lane because she thought that he was a "Super Man". So look at the "S" and focus on the five yellow parts...you will see Superman in a completely different way.
Hundreds of people have written for the Superman books, never saw any Mormon references though. His creators were Jewish, the theme running through Kal-El's story is one of Tragedy, loss, intigration and eventual acceptance. See WW2 for details.
Great montage. IMHO, Christopher Reeve is the greatest Superman, Teri Hatcher is the best Lois Lane, and I have a feeling Kevin Spacey will make for the ideal Lex Luthor.
Over here in England Channel Four have Subtitled Smallville 'Superman; The Early Years' OH YEAH! WE DIDN'T GET THAT! That pisses me off, because I like to think of Smallville as slightly askew of Superman canon (which it is anyway) and because of the ambiguous nature of the show, one can toy with the idea that perhaps Clark wont grow up to be Superman, at least not in the way we all reconise.
No Jor-El didn't have an S on his chest in the Film, The symbol is a representation of each person as an Individual on the planet Krypton. When Kal-El "Clark Kent" "Superman" was born the S symbol was his!!!
I'll admit the Eisner and Harvey awards are legit, but a poll isn't always definitive, Wizard's rankings put Superman at #4 and I'm betting there are probably a thousand blogs and etc. that would agree. Besides The Harvey awards are sponsored by DC so I automatically don't trust them, and I didn't know Eisner even did such a poll but let me know if you have the link.
All liked all those clips, the only Superman i never got into was the Lois & Clark tv show, Dean Cain was not a good superman (He really oiled up his hair, and he had girly legs to)
Well first off who in the world gives a crap about VH1, but again what are they basing their rankings on, most popular, most successful franchise despite 3 train wreck movies, how are they deciding he is number one?
Ah, so this is a glorified DVD and movie advert. Hence the exclusion of Fleischer and Kirk Alyn, yet the INclusion of Smallville... which isn't really Superman.
I know superman returns sucked, but if you just listen to the audio from the trailer with the narration and music score, its really amazing. I just wish it wasn't attached to such a crappy movie.
No offense, but Kate Bosworth is not that great of an actress, IMO. Teri Hatcher is BYFAR the best Lois Lane of the two women. I prefer Teri Hatcher over any of the Lois Lane actresses. Teri's Lois was beautiful, sassy, tenacious, vulnerable, and sexy. I can see why Superman would fall in love with her Lois. But Kate failed to make me see why Superman would even want her Lois. Though, I did enjoy her as Lois. Just felt she didn't have enough depth for the role.
Awesome video until they ruined it by showing footage of that craptacular movie Singer put out in 2006. Hey WB Superman did Return! only thing is you got him stuck on the CW on a show called SMALLVILLE! They need to stop fucking with the fans, and let him play Superman on the big screen in either a solo spin off movie or on JLA.
Still amazing almost 70 years of Superman.
I remember the 2006 Summer of Superman. GREAT TIME!!
Bestline in all the superman movies/mythology - "one thing I do know son, is that you are here for a reason" - Glenn Ford! Somes up superman to a T!
Hahhh, nostalgia at maximum, childlike wonder engaged,
Great video.

Superman will never die.
This guy is like the best voice over in the history of forever!!
All the inspiring, lovable aspects of superman can be understood in this one video.
best fan made superman trailer ever 5/5
damn good montage what can i say its superman!!!
I Hope that when i see Man of Steel Next June, WB make a promo just like this. But add Cavill to the list.
Christopher Reeve will always be Superman in my eyes.
George Newbern for me
That was great.......I loved it :)

A hero
Takes flight
Anybody else getting MEGALODON goosebumps just from that one quote, give me a like and/or a comment

Not to mention Superman's Speedo suit!
Totally excellent :D

and john williams gave os the ultimate theme to a beloved hero
It was in theaters too.

They better do the flyby. Thats mandatory. lol
Now they need one with man of steel.

not bad not bad at all.
cool
the above was for SharkieSharp.
Because of Lex Luthor and Bryan Singer's writers
@SurrealSeal I never really take Wizard's poll seriously really, they ranked Wolverine at number 1 which I'm sorry he doesn't deserve quite frankly
All liked all those clips, the only Superman i never got into was the Lois & Clark tv show, Dean Cain was not a good superman (He really oiled up his hair, and he had girly legs to)
o cool , i didnt know that..
Well rated by who, and what criteria is this rating based on?
I don't think so. A homosexual would know that two primary colors such as red and blue do not go together.
Well first off who in the world gives a crap about VH1, but again what are they basing their rankings on, most popular, most successful franchise despite 3 train wreck movies, how are they deciding he is number one?
the film was A+ and i liked routh i hated lois and richard

I agree, add Cavill to this, but let's take the crummy Superman Returns out - dang that was awful.
So Do I
Superman is in the top ten but he is not close to being the best
i still think it's annoying how smallville has been on sicne 2001 and it's got this crappy movie for peopel to talk about superman again
what the hell are you talking about? the creators were jewish.
hey i still dont get it. can you explain?
Kate Bosworth is better in terms of acting and features of Lois.
No offense, but Kate Bosworth is not that great of an actress, IMO. Teri Hatcher is BYFAR the best Lois Lane of the two women. I prefer Teri Hatcher over any of the Lois Lane actresses.
