Eduardo Banegas todays noise cancelling mics need clear and steady speaking too. Few people know this, others makes video conferences difficult to follow.
I'm guessing this film was made in the 40's 50's??? They had some prety impressive machenery back then, when technology was a lot more manual and hands on and not a computer in sight ! A great age of inventions involving moving cogs and machenery. Fascinating video.
1940: "For millions of years, this source of power slept peacefully in the dark recesses of the earth, until modern magic loosed the liquid energy from its subterranean prison." 2020: "Put it back! Put it back!"
Very interesting to see all the mechanics behind it back then. Considering the enthusiam, kinda hammers home what we are up against to get humanity off it. Many many decades of effort and spread of the use of this stuff.
@@jamesbizs Yup, we'll have plenty more in 50 million years, so we might as well exhaust the most useful resource mankind has ever discovered in a mere two centuries!
6:28 ...gas oil is converted into gasoline ..for that high pressure and high temperature given... So my question is gas oil will not burnt in cracking funrace at that high Pressure & Temperature?
Dhruv Patel because it needs to be separated beforehand, if you do this with plain oil, you will not end up with gasoline bu with a liquid that resembles tar
If your question is focusing on how that high a temperature/pressure and it doesn't ignite, that's because there's no oxygen in the pipes. Hydrocarbons need oxygen to burn.
People in the comments who are talking about the high pitched noise confused me at first but then I started to hear it. I’m only 16 I wonder why it was so hard for me to hear
Man these were some great times, (except its racial stuff) these were the times where america really meant something, where now its a shit hole of a country, where everyone gets triggered over literally anything and suing someone has become a normal habit.
Electric vehicles were invented before gasoline vehicles. But gasoline vehicles were better, so they took over. Electric vehicles still have lousy range, and are heavy compared to gasoline vehicles.
: now my youtube history thumbnails are all in grayscale..
I enjoyed the old school accent from the narration. People should start talking like this again.
They talked like this because of early microphone technologies. Clear and steady speaking (steady sound saves) was the optimal for these microphones.
Me too !

It's called the Trans Atlantic Accent. It was used back then in all American film
I thought I was the only one who enjoyed it too👌
Cool to se how things were done without topdrive, iron roughneck and with steem engines. Thanks for the introduction.
Awesome being able to watch historical videos like this.
Imagine drilling on those rigs I give so much more respect to those men who did that at that time lol
What about the men doing it right now?
Crude oil smells kinda bad (sulfury kinda smell). But it also smells like $$$

Fascinating video.
One of the key vehicles shown was a 1939 Chevrolet, so I'm guessing that it was produced near to that time. It also has a 1930s feel to it, not 1950s.
I don't understand how these videos are so entertaining
1940: "For millions of years, this source of power slept peacefully in the dark recesses of the earth, until modern magic loosed the liquid energy from its subterranean prison."
2020: "Put it back! Put it back!"
Lmao
People who still remembered life without it, that is who.
Don't let a dog hear this video
So that's what was causing the ringing in my ear
Oh my gosh I thought I had tinnitus it turns out the high pitch ringing is coming from the video itself, few that’s a relief
Awesome video, completely dumbed down and well made!

I love the video but now I have a headache.
great vid
I would love to see an 80-90 year old person who used to do this, react to the video
Increasing global temperature since 1940
Incredible informative video
very educational, nowadays not many of these, wat we have are slowmo guys or dude perfect
Wow, back when the United States had the largest known oil reserves in the world. It must have seemed endless.
We currently have almost 100 years worth of recoverable oil, at current production levels. It is still, essentially endless

I heard that sneaky bit of Wagner at 6:24
Very informative :)
GOOOOO GET EM BOYS!
people who never swore a day in their life and were better for it.
People swore back then. Go find some old movie bloopers.
Why is there a high pitch noise the whole time?
When was this video originally made? Was it the 1960s, or the 1950s, or the 40s, or something.

There were actual concepts of nuclear cars in the 50s and 60s. The idea was scrapped because of this reason.
Plus, nuclear vehicle accidents would unfortunately mean radiation leaks
I like the Who.
And people say making electric car batterys is engergy intense 😂😂
Exactly, those hypocrites knows nothing at all.
Was this Audio recorded from a CRT TV? the high pitched noise is painful.

Huh! You are on to somthing there
I wonder who butchered the english
If it was, then whoever designed it did a terrible job. Oil is a very crappy coolant.
Sunoco made this in the 1940s
"pumping black magic" who writes this stuff?
Why?
Man that ringing sound was too much
There will be Blo.od
Gasoline molecules make this emoji 😐
wtf with that high pitched sound?

America was destroyed by demographics. The same as Rome.

This triggered Joe Biden so now gas is $5/gallon.

The condition of the water in every scene with a river is terrible.
Guess pollution was not a problem back the. They should have also started to invest in e vehicles.
They didn’t have good range back then, so it never took off until recently

And it's cleaner and safer than so-called green energy. Yay for vegetation fuels
Notice they use a steam engine to turn the drill.. Lol makes no sense.. Stop drilling!!! Its dirty
... a steam engine that is powered by coal or oil. How about thinking for a change?
What?
