As a Croatian -American(mom from Mostar,father from Split), Im a little embarrassed I havent been there yet. Amazing how such a small country can have so many beautiful places! My son went on a cruise and he was in Dubrovnik,said it was amazing,and the people are really friendly. Gotta get ther!

Beautifully done video! It takes months to see it all. Go as many times as you must to see it all (which is difficult, because once you get to some of these places you will not want to leave).

Thank you for your kind words. I have to say I'm lucky enough to visit Rovinj on a daily basis because of my work, It's really beautiful. I recommend also visiting places in close vicinity such as Dvigrad, Sveti Lovreč, Limski Kanal and Vrsar to the north, Palud Bird reserve, Bale and Barbariga to the south. In Rovinj be sure to check out Zlatni rt and the Rovinj Archipelago if you have spare time. Enjoy your stay!

hard to believe not too long ago they were in a nasty war...
+Nestor Alegre The war mostly took place in rural areas of Slavonia and Lika regions, except for Dubrovnik which repaired the damage that was made on it's city walls. Vukovar was not so lucky and you can still see traces of the war there, although they are gathering money now to repair the old water tower - a simble of Vukovar which was badly damaged. The war is a thing of the past, we should keep it there and always look forward.

Croatia looks lovely. I have never been but would love to know if any of the coastal towns show damage of the war that occurred from 90-95. Does anyone know of any ruin sites?
coastal towns had repaired war damage ... that was the first priority because of tourism ... but there is still few places which is left in ruins ... Kupari, a big hotel complex in Konavle, south of Dubrovnik is still a ruin ... government said that the whole comlex will be given to foreign investors for restauration and hopefully open for bussiness in near future

It's not the most expensive, it's actually cheap for the average westerner standard and cheaper than other bigger mediterranean countries.
It depends, I was 8 years ago in Brac, Split and Dubrovnik, the price was close to Amsterdam where I'm living but the quality much better in any case in Croatia than here what about restaurants etc.
Not sure about prices in Amsterdam but Brač and Dubrovnik are very touristy which makes them one of the more expensive places to visit in Croatia. Same goes for Hvar, Rovinj, Rab etc. Especially fancy hotels and restaurants that cater the tourists with big pockets. Just for comparison, a large macchiato on the waterfront in Rovinj costs 2 euros, pretty much everywhere else in the country it's around 1 euro, you'll pay even more in Dubrovnik.
Yes, I agree with you, the coast line-Dalmatia is more expensive than arias in the mountants or even Zagreb.
Again, it all depends how touristy the place is, there are cheap coastline towns too.
