  • I have been on the hunt for milksnakes and I have succeeded. Ulster County NY.
    Species:
    Eastern Box Turtle- Terrapene carolina
    American Toad- Anaxyrus americana
    American Toad- " "
    Eastern Milksnake - Lampropeltis t. triangulum
    Northern Ringnecksnake- Diadophis punctatus edwardsii
    Eastern Milksnake- See above.

    Saw a beautiful colored milk snake on the Hogsback Road in the Rome Sand Plains. Big boy!

    I'm in Millbrook, Upstate NY. All i find is garter snakes. Do you know if there are milks where I am?

      Yes there are definitely milk snakes in Millbrook. Looking through trash or old wood/stone piles in or near fields is probably your best bet. Now is a good time to see them. You could even find them by driving farm roads on warm summer nights just after dusk

      @@HudsonHerper Ok, would they be hiding in piles of firewood do you think? I always flip over rocks but never find any :(

      @@camille-dx7jk piles of firewood could work. Rocks stacked on rocks tend to be the best. Or rocks with rodent burrows under them
