You guys assume that the NDSU punter woukd have punted the ball to Taco if he was back there on that last punt. No. If Taco was back returning the punt, then NDSU's kicker would have kicked the ball out of bounds with just enough time for 1 final obvious hook amd ladder for a 10-15 yard gain and then a bunch of chaotic pitches until NDSU disrupts everything and dives on the loose ball.

That 64 yard run TD by Cam Miller was ridicules. Bad line up on the D line from MSU. He saw that and knew what he was going to do well before the snap. Plus no punt returner on the very last play!? They weren't even going to try.

They sold put for the punt block. It just didn't pan out for them because the NDSU kicker did a good job of quick-kicking before MSU could get to the block

If you're scratching your head because Montana State didn't have a returner back for that punt, then you must think that Montana State would have a better chance at running a final play hook and ladder while picthing the ball around the field 80 yards for a TD as opposed to seeling out for the punt block.
Tbh, they had a better chance at bring the return man down in the box for the extra man advantage for a punt block. They almost had it but the NDSU punter did a quick punt. Had he done a regular 2 step punt, it might have been blocked.

You can still block a punt without sending all 11 players. You sell out for the punt block which we all agree with but you have to have someone back there. They either kick it out of bounds or it's a fair catch and time is still left. It's not one or the other, you can do both.

I'm just wondering why Mellott is just a jerk that he has to run 20 feet out of bounds on the NDSU sideline just to push over the NDSU trash can? It was obviously deliberate and downright childish. Trash Can Tommy.
