ive been doing several months of iRacing with a lot of the Lemons guys that cant be on-track due to the shutdowns, and they are an incredible bunch of folks. long live lemons
These guys have a _great_ attitude. Lemons is about *fun* , not "win at all costs" racing. Any venue where it is not only possible to bribe the judges, but _expected,_ is my kind of event.
AWESOME!!! glad to see the fox doing foxy things. it does sound like need the spare transmission for sure, from the sounds of the final drive. The gear popping sometimes was due to shifter adjuster needing adjustment and shifter being heavy.
It wasn't the wheel bearing failing that loosened the axle nut. The axle nut came lose and took out the wheel bearing, ours tries to do that all the time. Pro tip: Re-torque the wheel nut before every race day, and sometimes during the race. DO NOT over-tighten the nut, the threaded stub will snap off, guess how we figured that out.
Great video. Really sad to see this channel doesn't have more views since the content is so good! I hope to be able to be in wheel to wheel racing at some point whenever there's enough $$$ laying around.
Yikes, compared to jetta/golf parts, fox parts seem like its going to be a challenge, curious to see if there is a budget option that lets you use other more common vw stuff. Fun stuff and glad to see everyone get good seat time
@@davidhollenshead4892 the transmission and front suspension stuff though are more audi fox/vw dasher which have added challenges of finding parts I would think
the engines are basically identical between the different cars, just bolted to a longitudinal transaxle. the axles and suspension are pretty different, but if you have a welder...................
I dont know if u guys are aware but vw Fox/Voyage dominate circuit/rally races in Brazil back in the 80' they were unbeatable. There this guy Bob Sharp ex chief manager of the official vw team he writes for a blog (autoentusiastas.com.br) and writes many nice tips and histories about it, worth checking
ive always wanted to do this...but it is FAAAAAAAAAAAR from a $500 venture. The costs alone to race...prep the car, safety gear, etc is way off from the average 'play money' most have. Hence the 'cheating' that happens...and it happens A LOT lol.

it's more like a "win at NO cost" racing. and that's the beauty of it!
Well done gents... lol yup that's Lemons alright! Lots of ups and downs, but always a good time

Great video. We are preparing for our first LeMons race. Hope to meet yall at a track soon.

Yep, we figured that out after further inspection back at the shop. We'll cover that in a future video.

Many of the parts from fox, jetta/ golf are similar if not the same...

That obtrusive CRC screen-logo needs to be MUCH larger...maybe enough to block 1/2 the viewing area !

One day, Tom's beard will grow in...
Can't wear a respirator with a beard! Tom doesn't like smelling burning Volkswagen in the garage.
No, next question
