To this day it's a dream of mine to get one, I wasn't able to buy one when I was a kid, and they stopped making them. I was so sad. And now it's literally a fortune to get one.

Just bought mine today. Comes in on Saturday so excited! I keep telling my girl that if she let me trade in her gamegear I could’ve gotten this back in the day in exchange. The gamegear now just sits in my garage.
It’s amazing such great build quality and customization to fall in the cracks and never be heard of again till 20 years later.

It’s always been my dream to own a game boy advance, but specifically the SP, although I’ve thought about the micro, it’s just so hilarious how the final ever game boy system is a tiny rectangle even with LOWERCASE BUTTONS!
I played this in early ‘04. I was only in 1st grade lol I remember struggling to see on the Gameboy Advance I was given for Christmas, as a present, so I asked for a Gameboy Micro the following year. My console was definitely one of the cooler handhelds at the time, like the Verizon Juke swivel phones during the Myspace era. Too bad I couldn’t play Gameboy Color cartridges on my Gameboy Micro, unlike the Gameboy Advance SP…
Had to have been '05 that's when the micro was introduced
this is why I love your reviews when something comes with extra plates or has the option to change them you think of being creative allot of other reviewers call changing plates trash or useless!

I remember going to every store in town trying to buy one of these only to finally get the last one in the city and finding out from the guy that got it out of the case that they were being discontinued.
Closest I can get to getting one is the Retro Mini RS90. It uses the exact same screen. You can even use the screen to repair a Micro.
I still want one. I almost had one as a kid. A kid almost gave me his Famicom color Game Boy Micro but his mom told him no because it could be worth money later. As a kid I thought it was a stupid reason because I didn’t wanna sell it, I wanted to play it. Now I know she was right and I’m more pissed cause I gotta spend that money to have one.
i absolutely love the micro, best gba in the lineup, but it’s just too small for me 😢 growing up i got to play on my friend’s 20th anv micro and it was so damn cool to change the faceplate and the screen was impressive (and still is today) plus the headphone jack! but i had to settle with an SP simply because i had one growing up and has the biggest screen

The question I have is why this was made when the DS was selling like hot cakes and could play gba games like the micro and wasn’t as uncomfortable to play with huge hands? Better question is why anyone would get this when they can get the DS?
Size is the answer, this is absolutely tiny compared to the HUGE DS. This was for ultimate portability
@@128KB And I'd add that the Micro just looks amazing, it's really a style choice to get a micro.
I never understood why the gameboy micro failed as a product to me it was better than the sp especially because the screen was better and you didnt have to worry about the horrible hinges that always went bad and cause the folding mechanism to be wobly
I love people who don't know anything about materials and manufacturing go "Ah, metal, must be high quality"
So you're saying you'd chose a flimsy plastic over whatever alloy they've used here? Regardless of knowing everything about materials or not, a metal Gameboy is going to be harder wearing than a plastic one, surely.
Honestly I didn't care so much about the Gameboy Micro back when it was released. I wanted a DS and it was selling like hot cakes too. I thought it was a downgrade from the GBA and GBA SP but now almost 20 years later I appreciate the micro. I like how the Micro looks, I like how it's very compact. You could put it anywhere and it wouldnt have a huge buldge in your pocket. The games must look nice and crisp on that small screen.
Sad that now it's expensive and uncommon
It was relatively uncomfortable to play with average hands tho. Still i regret so much selling mine like 15years ago or something seeing how much they're worth now.
I have one in my collection also original adapter. But battery is now to low...fact is this console really unconfortablenfor gaming but looks mazing

Yep, official Nintendo console, came out 2004 or 2005? They stopped making them a couple years later, now they're super expensive

Too bad It’s a nightmare to mod trust me I just I stripped like all the screws on mine they’re just so tiny thankfully I got them in there but there’s a few I can’t unscrew anymore
