Yeah, really love how seamlessly the Poly Tower blends with the theming and look of the Polynesian Resort. Another soulless concrete block with a few bits of theming tacked on the outside as an afterthought.
Excellent job! I appreciated the earlier footage for River Country, kind of forgot how people loved it. Obviously the other 2 water parks replaced it but fun to see it again. Look forward to more videos.
Glad you enjoyed! River Country was before my time so I was never able to experience it unfortunately. Regardless, I find its history very fascinating.
If you consider both how close they're putting this to Wilderness Lodge and the fact that the Copper Creek DVC resort has so few studios, they would REALLY be doing Copper Creek owners a real SOLID, if they made Reflections part of the Copper Creek DVC. (Copper Creek at Reflections?). The reality is that the "Cascade Cabins" and the 3 bedroom villas created a TON of points sold to a lot of people expecting to book a Studio, which is EXTREMELY hard to do at almost any time of the year. Even the 1 Bedroom Villas are VERY hard to get. By making this resort part of the Copper Creek Vacation Homes, it would finally give Copper Creek owners a bit of an easier time to utilize their DVC contract.
@@TheCostofAutism I’m not very familiar with how Disney Vacation Club works or their timeshares, but that all makes a lot of sense. I’ve heard that the resort will apparently “feature DVC” but won’t be exclusively DVC like the Polynesian Tower. Guess we’ll have to wait and see
@@itsasmallvlog All DVC Resorts, also book cash reservations, that's nothing new. You can book a cash reservation at Riviera, Polynesian, the Grand Floridian... All of them. Obviously it's in Disney's best interest to sell these as DVC because it generates MILLIONS for them. Additionally, if they did merge this Resort with Copper Creek, it actually costs them less in administrative fees AND instead of having this resort end and reset in 2075, they could have it reset in 2068 with the rest of Copper Creek (giving them the ability to "Resell" the timeshares 7 years sooner). It really would be a WIN-WIN for everyone. Existing Copper Creek owners would get a large new pool of rooms to be able to rent at the 11 month booking window. The new DVC customers that would buy at this resort would also have the capability of booking the Cabins that fairly often go empty and if they were to resell these contracts, it would be governed by the Pre-Riviera rules that would allow the new owners to book at all the Legacy resorts (Bolstering the Resale Value of their DVC Contracts)
I think the Island tower is going to be beautiful...i know a lot of people are not pleased with the asthetic of the structure and appearance...but Ive been to HI...and seen that not everything is the same and just chuncky "dark wood"....im anxious to see its completion
hawaii has not been representative of polynesia in a century. the original poly is much closer to what i think of when i think of palau, yap, pohnpei, kosrae, bora bora, etc.
Ok so is the STOLport / construction hub near the 2000 loop? We just stayed there and the road next to the bus stop is closed off now. But often (while waiting on the bus) buggy’s full of people in construction vests would fly past us into the closed off road.
We kept asking CMs if that was going to be Reflections. They all had no idea. It’s moronically close to Fort Wilderness’s Settlement. Most resorts have some land in between them. It’s going to ruin the aesthetics of Fort Wilderness IMO.
So the former STOLport is closest to Wilderness Lodge, just south of it actually. There is a back road that connects to Timberline Drive called West Wilderness Road (you can look it up on Apple/Google Maps), and that's most likely the closed road construction crews were entering.
Yeah, the cabins weren't perfect, but at least they didn't look like someone's idea of a chic cabin condo. They're not as bad as I feared, but still... Here's a weird thought Disney--How about more value and moderate resorts someday?

Called Island? What Island?

Great video, well done

i have to ask why do we not see wind in the willows ie characters or rebranding it. as many still like toad and his friends just saying.
Campgrounds getting surrounded and will not have the same feel. Walt loved nature but the ones in charge could care less.

I second this! The last value resort we got was Art of Animation back in 2012.
