@Alex McGowan I put a link at the end of all the videos. Thanks for the idea. It's kind of weird putting that out there, but someone anonymously donated already.
@Alex McGowan, I'm not sure that's a great idea. There are many variables to take into account when designing a system like that, and there would likely be requirements your local jurisdiction would have that I wouldn't be familiar with. If you're not well-versed in fire alarm system design and installation, this would be a really big project to take on. I'm not discouraging you from doing it, but it would probably be worth the money to outsource the design portion to someone experienced and licensed in your area. A seemingly small oversight in the design phase could be extremely expensive to fix once the project is underway or complete, and that's an enormous risk. In addition to that, I haven't used Fire-Lite voice systems, so I may not be the best guy to consult. Their systems aren't approved for use in required high rise buildings in my city, and so I've never seen them used in a building anywhere near the size you're talking about. I looked at their website and it seems that they do have equipment that would meet your needs, but having not used it, I'd be in a situation where I don't know what I don't know. If it were Notifier or FCI that would be a different story. Despite all that, I could definitely help point you in the right direction and give you some tips on what to look out for if you decide to take this on. But I would strongly advise outsourcing the design if you haven't done it before. If the design is right, then the installation is basically just a matter of following instructions. But if the design isn't right, the odds of you pulling it off any making any money on it aren't very good. If you want to discuss it further, shoot me an email. joeklochan@gmail.com
This is a question that might be a Lil off topic but lets get into it.... that elevator fire fighters operation key has the hat ,reset off and on. The key switch for resetting, what wires would you put a jumper on to get a reset. As an electrician technician I do know only the elevator engineers are the ones that have the service keys and service .some company's do have the reset key on site
I don't know which offhand. Id almost need the key to meter it in different positions. But I think the two options are the wire for reset, and the wire for fire service (phase 1), so if you jump common to either of those it should reset. I've done that once. The caveat there is if you damage something it's on you. There may be types of elevators that have a separate power source for reset and fire fire service, but I highly doubt it.
@Joe Klochan Thanks for replying..✏️ I think that's correct the wire that's on the terminal when the key is in the ↖️ reset position and the power will do a reset .thanks again
getting thrown into doing this at work with no prior experience. Thank you for doing such a great job explaining it!
I just messed up my relay on my first elevator recall. Gonna watch these videos to try and never make the mistake again
He's back!
You the man Joe!
good explanation, thanks
Honestly, I can't thank you enough. Your videos have been so helpful. Is there a way to donate to your channel?
Hmm, thanks for asking! I'm looking into what would be the most practical way to provide that option.
