Windows 7 running on UEFI with Secure Boot

- Looks like the rumors were true. In the recent Windows 7 ESU updates Microsoft has quietly enabled Secure Boot support for Windows 7, enabling support for more modern hardware. Don't get your hopes too high, however, as the other driver and update limitations that were in place for Windows 7 on newer hardware are still here.
Thanks for watching!

Hey NTDEV , please answer me. It will be a lot of help.
I got an intel 1115g4 with usefi class 3. tpm & vmd controller can be disabled but no legacy or csm support. ..I tried installing win7 disabling storage controller. but after installing it stucks at starting windows.
Can this update fix the issue. ?
Ambatubuss on Windows 7
How did you make it work? I have Windows 7 installed on UEFI with no problems but it was old UEFI without secure boot support
They added support in a new ESU Update
Doesn’t Windows 7 need VGA even in UEFI boot?
Did they change the theme a bit? I'm on SP1 on my unupdateable sh"t PC, and something seems a bit off for me. Hope we'll get USB 3.0 on 7 too.
you can get usb3 on 7 by installing drivers from company that made your usb controller, and no they didn't change theme he just scaled it a bit
@@rt-krnl oh, thanks a lot.
Probably DPI scaling
@@rt-krnl Or generic Win8-backported USB drivers from MDL but you need an account for that
@@rt-krnlSo why does USB Root Hub (Windows 8.1) only accept xHCI and not 3.0?
Well important thing is 7's basic display driver. That's the only thing blocks people from running it under uefi secure boot since it doesn't work well without CSM.
How can I remove it?
@@Fifasher2K how are you gonna interact with the OS without the stock VGA driver?
@@Brawllux207 Intel display driver.
@@Fifasher2K how are you gonna install your intel driver without seeing the OS? And even if you do that you wont be able to see the boot screen or use safe mode.

For a bit my Windows 7 install was running under Secure Boot due to resetting my UEFI settings at one point for some reason and the way my motherboard handled Secure Boot violations was by not allowing chain-loaders, so trying to run Winload from GRUB (had a dual-boot with Mint) would result in a blinking underscore. Until I realized what was going on I just went to the UEFI to switch boot device.
I've tried booting Windows 7 from an external HDD on my Lenovo Ideapad 3 15ALC6 82KU (with UEFI (can't be disabled) and secure boot), but it crashes when trying to load ahcix64s.sys.
How to do it? by using the Windows 10 's Environment or What?
cool. Can you tell me the KB number (or the month of the rollup) of the update? I'm so sick & tired of Windows 10
Installing latest rollup (or 2023-01) supports Secure Boot
How did you install the OS? What did you do?
neither he used an iso or usb or put in a disc
but since its vmware
he used an iso
Why the hell does the os look weird
ntdev my beloved
ntdev try to boot windows 11 on the lowest cpu MHz possible
how can i download this?
Fake
Interesting!
Is this uefi without csm if so what iso are you using
I can't install Windows 7 unless if i plug in old PS/2 or USB 2.0 mouse AND keyboard (i only have the keyboard)
no you don't, use the tab, shift+tab, and space and esc key to navigate without mouse, it's not too hard
This is x64 version of windows 7.
how is this working? my install launches bootmgr but fails to load the os on a ga-z97x g1 gaming 7
Does this work without CSM ?
can help me ? i pay
I think VMware emulates Int10h which Windows 7 needs. It doesn't work on my UEFI Class 3 laptop.
FACTS.
it needs gpu drivers slipstreamed else it wont boot and will be stuck in the seven boot screen after the installer reboots
@@lelkasa361 That's because Microsoft only updated EFI file that allows to boot the OS, but another important file (vga.sys) wasn't. So the OS can't load that driver (due to missing interrupt) and hangs.
I heard somewhere that MS have planned to do it but it never happened.
@@Kiki79250CoCEver heard of UEFISeven? A hack that makes it possible.
@@Kiki79250CoC I wonder if we can just take the vga.sys of windows 8 and place it in seven's file system and make it work somehow
Who would want windows 7 on uefi with secureboot?
me
Me too
I mean, some systems don't have CSM, so
me
Obviously everyone if every pc had csm but they don’t
Tried it out a few months back, got everything working BUT the chipset drivers, it was heartbreaking.
do you really need the chipset drivers though
@@Cheddy I'm on a laptop so yeah I kinda do
Hey NTDev or anyone who can answer this question: I like Tiny11, but is it really allowed to release and distribute a customized windows iso? Isnt it against any ToS or something? Just wondering why some projects like amiliorated went down, but tiny10 and tiny11 stay up without anything, although this project is damn huge in popularity imo
From what I’ve read, Ameliorated Windows 10 was pre-activated, whereas I try to actively avoid showing any way of activating my images. You just get the iso, but it’s your deal to buy a windows key and activate the installation.
Who said Ameliorated went down? They are very much still up and running.
@@metawolf987 ameliorated is not providing isos anyore, they only provide those playbooks. Thats what i meant with "they went down"
@@NTDEV And microsoft has not yet been after you? Try to sue you or dmca or any of that crap?
So sharing customized windows isos is allowed, as long as you dont pre-activate it?
@@Joly0 There is no arbitrary breech of license in modifying a windows installation otherwise everyone who changed their wallpaper would be in license violation.
Man, I was just trying this but failed.
I succeeded by enabling Legacy support, booting the setup using EFI mode, installing GPU drivers, use a tweak to disable VGA, switch to pure UEFI, Install the ESU updates and then enable SB which worked
@@Minionguyjpro what cpu and mobo do you use? it's can be bootable in 8th o more gen intel platform?
@@CarlosMartinez-px9xo I use a 7th gen Lenovo board on a laptop with a 7th gen Intel Pentium with 2 cores and 4 threads, 2.30GHz. It could work using some tricks on newer platforms, but it may require some tweaks and you'll need to see whether you'd have drivers for 7.

Until there are ONLY user keys in secure boot, without microsoft keys - secure boot is just a vendor lock
nice fake Windows 7 version
It aint
32bit?
32-bit on UEFI exists, but is very rare, because after wide spread adoption of UEFI, almost all PCs were 64-bit already
@@markusTegelane also 7 doesn't have support for 32-bit EFI, 8.0 added that
This seems too fake.
This has to be Win10to7.
Bootscreen ain't changeable
But I guess they completely changed the code of the boot screen to make it windows 7 when you can barely change the logo of it
It’s not Win10to7
This has update packs that are not supported on windows 10
