      Would like to see variations of passing from HQ from those such as Rodolpho Viera. A good discussion/video about whether going through the middle (HQ/leg trap), vs going around the body. Thanks

  • @schutyser007

    Thanks a lot! How would you say he combines his legtrap with his HQ/long step? When does he prefer which action? As if you are able to pin the far leg he can choose to go HQ or go for the leg trap it seems?

    • @DeepDiveJJ
      @DeepDiveJJ  2 года назад +2

      Hmmm now this is me rambling and going off the top but if Tainan is able to pin that far leg, it wouldn't always make sense or be possible to go to HQ since he may be too far away (if hes entering from far distance i.e. the torreando pass) from the guard player. So from far distance it might go like this - Torreando -> Leg Trap. Check out the clips in this video against Jeferson Guaresi for examples of that. Now if he is passing from medium distance (his usual passing style) It makes alot more sense for him to enter the leg trap from HQ. Sometimes off of the leg weave from HQ as he pins the far leg because the guard player is forced to suck their non pinned leg in as frame, which then gives Tainan the chance to get to trap the leg. So a great way to enter the leg trap can go like this, HQ -> Leg Weave -> Leg Trap can be a great way to get to the position. That clip of him passing Murasaki is a great example of that. Hope I clarified stuff a bit for you!

    • @schutyser007
      @schutyser007 2 года назад +1

      @@DeepDiveJJ Yeah I came to the same conclusion that HQ -> Leg Weave -> Leg Trap is looking like his 'perfect scenario' or at least a good way of drilling all the control positions. Now need to figure out when/how he makes the descision to go Long step or when he goes Leg trap so going to need to look at some additional footage to see him chain these and when

  • @edgarlopez2563
    @edgarlopez2563 2 года назад +1

    Could you do leg weave ! Or focus more on when he switches sides and when he keeps driving the same side.
